....influence your decision to read it or not. Of course, this is intended to be about stories and poems you haven't read yet.

It has a big influence on my decision. I rarely read a story if its score is below a 4.7. Probably not the best measure, but it does come to mind when browsing around.

Thoughts?
I don't care what the average is. I read it because I want to, nothing more, nothing less.
The average score does not sway me to read stories. I try to read all my friends works and any other stories that I find interesting on the home page.

I have read stories that I enjoyed that have scored very low.

I don't think a low score really depicts a story. I mean, yes, sometimes it does, but not all the time. There are some stories that are lower than a 4.7 that is still actually pretty good.
How about trying to read something a little lower than a 4.7? You might be surprised to see that it's still pretty darn good smile
I usually don't even look at the score.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

The scores here are not really helpful. They're not anonymous enough (the author gets a notification every time someone votes), so the author can almost always tell who's giving low scores. Otherwise the mean score for all stories would not be in the high 4s.

I do not feel the scores are meaningful here... I tend to find certain people's read story list Also look at the comments left on them.

HA! Love it
Though I'm an author and aim for refined quality stories - when I'm horny I don't care how well it's written. I have my kinks and I will read anything and everything within those kinks. I don't care what others think about them. I want her to gag on his cock while she gets fisted and then go home to her boyfriend who loves it up the ass - votes won't keep me from getting into it.

As a moderator and story verifier, I've learned not to trust the scores. I trust the writers. Those who have proved themselves I read often, others I won't bother with regardless of score. RR's and EP's I will read because I know how hard it is to get them and what the criteria is. I'll try new writers if the story looks interesting. Scores don't mean much other than keeping a work at the top of the lists.

The Wild Girl anthology need not be read in any order but does take place in the following timeframe

Wild at Heart- 1968. The story of Dani’s Great Aunt Evie.

Wild Oats. Part 1&2. -2021. Dani is 16 and sets her sights on her stepfather.

Wild Child. 2025. Dani is now 20 years old.

As a reader, I don't pay much attention to the score... If it looks good, I read it. As a writer, I'm curious about what people think of my stories, and I appreciate feedback.

Please check out my stories. <3

Why should the scores, of people you don't know, influence what you read?

It's like going to the movies - if you're trying to choose between two, most people usually choose the one that's gotten 5 stars over the one with 2.

As a Writer I do pay attention as gives me an idea how my stuff is received and as a reader I usually go to those I know or what read from the preview given and go from there

Exactly! Well said Sprite.
i pay no attention. the title is what grabs me.

Say. Her. Name.

As with my fellow reader above, I too am not swayed by a story/poem's average score.
It is generally some combination of the title, the key words, and the theme that draws me in.
