I think Valentine's Day was created in cahoots by the jewellery stores and the chocolate confectioners and Hallmark ... for the women who feel unappreciated. They can (and do) supply the guilt to men to do the "right" thing at least once a year!!

For me ... I have never been one to celebrate it much, because I prefer the unexpected little things that say ... I love you ... throughout the year.

Happy Valentine's day to those who are celebrating it ...

and to those not-celebrating it ... enjoy a bubble bath for no reason but to enjoy it!

I agree with what pretty much everyone is saying... Valentine's Day is stupid. It's an excuse for stores to sell useless crap (besides chocolate cause that is good, but I could buy that any day) And it is also an excuse for self-centered bitches to get their significant other to buy them expensive shit like jewelry or a 50 dollar bouquet of flowers that are going to end up dying anyways. I guess I'm extra bitter about Valentine's Day cause I never received a Valentine from anyone. (Before today at least) All throughout school, when they did that stupid crap delivering roses to girls during class, never once did I fucking get one. I like it a little bit more, but not that much. It is still my least favorite holiday.

Another thing I thought of was the story of Picnic at Hanging Rock. I have read both novel and watched the movie.

I read that every year on Valentines Day people go to Hanging Rock and watch the film on a big screen.
