hi everybody!!!
i finally got a new computer! and thank you all sooo much for the support. for such a tragedy we have only felt blessing after blessing. ill tell you the story...
on nov 11 (and what a sucky date) i woke up to some screeching noise at 2:17 am. i had had only been asleep for about 4 hours and so i was really groggy. i couldnt figure out what the fuck the noise was and i knew it was hard to breathe. so i opened my front door to bitch at the person that woke me up and saw flames shooting from my garage. my mouth hit the sidewalk and i went for the hose....again, really not thinking. when i realized fire was beyond my stupid hose i went back into the house. my kids were awake and my son had his phone. i called 911 and shooed them out. i screamed at my still sleeping husband to get up and grabbed the book that had our birth certs, social security cards and some savings bonds and then walked out. little did i know that the fire had gone into the attic..the ceilings could have collapsed at any time.
my neighbor took us in and didnt let go at all. she mobilized her church..our kids school and before i knew it i was inundated with donations...clothes, money and gift cards. another neighbor has a house for sale across the street and is lettin us rent it. we have truly wanted for nothing from the moment it started until the moment i write this. we have good insurance and they are paying for everything.
i will lament the loss of my grandmothers china and all my childhood mementos but everyone in my family is alive and safe. the only black spot is the loss of our dog Lolly...she got out but is still at large. our cat, gonzo, came home....just in time for the news cameras ... go figure ;)
but long story short......we are ok! and i thank you all for thinking about me and us...wishing us will. I love my Lush family!

as far as we can tell we wont have to raze the house but it will have to be gutted down to the studs. new roof..new electrical..new everything. the insurance is being great and paying for it all. we get to rent the house across the street from ours during the construction which is awesome and the support we have been getting is overwhelming. food clothes and monetary donations flooded in....it was insane really. and yes MK i have great neighbors...i am truly blessed!
