So, for the past hour now I have been getting harassing text messages on my cell phone.

The sender's information is

Has anyone heard of this before? Any information from anyone would be great.
Seriously...like 200 text messages in less than half an hour. I need a way to track this person down and make them suffer.
Call your cell phone company and ask them to block the messages.

It looks like http://www.appalhost.com/ isn't even up yet, or that might be a deliberate ploy.

Here are their details - I would send an email to the abuse department at namecheap.com.

I could try to call Tracfone and see. Not sure how helpful they will be since it is a prepaid phone. I will look into the rest of your options. Thanks Nic.
I think my phone has a block sender option in it - have you checked yours?
Yeah, I checked for that feature. Seems my cheap phone does not have that option.
Is it totally random? That might be an epic case of wrong number. Did you reply to the sender?

Did you recently piss someone off or dump an unstable dude?

anyone capable of sending texts at a rate of 400 text messages per hour is clearly a force to be reckoned with! I think "unstable" is something of an understatement...

Actually, almost anyone can send messages that fast when they are using a computer to send the messages to a phone. All you have to do is keep hitting enter to repeat the message.

And yes, this woman is unstable...but also too ignorant to realize that she can and will be traced. I am thinking that I should just take what I have to the police and file some harassment charges on her.
Her? How do you know its a her?

I am 99% certain it is the same "her" who was sending me all kinds of nasty emails before. Long story...
Oh the one that was stalking you and making you have to change everything?

Birdie - to backup Nicola's comments - Namecheap.com is the registrar of record, but they are a 'front' service provider which is suspected to provide a haven to anyone who wishes to put any kind of crap/spam/trash site on the internet. Chances are good that you won't get anywhere with them or their abuse/spam department. They most likely don't give a damn.

Internic..net's whois database indicates appalhost.com is by my best guess...a purposefully hidden domain, if you ping the domain name you come up with the very same ip address found when you ping both of their name servers below (ns1 & ns2.appalhost.com) which indicates to me that it's an el cheapo service, relying on one server to perform DNS, when most reputable outfits will use at least two servers and sometimes as many as Google uses - which is a ton.

You can go to your local police - they eat this kind of shit up. WhoIsGuard is Enom, Incorporated's (dba) NameCheap.com's registrant privacy blocking 'alias'...the real owner of that domain has chosen to be anonymous and paid an extra fee to do so. I own domains and I do this too, for my own reasons, none of which is nefarious, but...it's available.

Working from what is known to what is real - is key here...Appalhost to NameCheap to Enom, Inc (see the layers?)
Enom's Admin phone# would be whom I would contact, if I wanted to start somewhere and do this on my own. ENOM either purchased NameCheap.com or it's part of their "Who Gives a Shit line of subsidiaries'. I see this a lot in my line of work.

You can take this a little farther still, and find out who the main internet bandwidth provider(s) is/are for ENOM, Inc.

xxx@ubuntu:~$ ping enom.com
PING enom.com (98.124.253.253) 56(84) bytes of data.

Plug the ip address: 98.124.253.253 into the WHOIS search bar at ARIN.NET, and you will see the following (keep in mind this is their primary IP range and not the ip range where your harrasser is operating from, but it tells you who ENOM, Inc is and who provides them with the bandwidth for them to launch their own enterprise out to the world... Century Tel Internet Holdings, Inc.

Century Tel is a fairly reputable company - they would be much more likely to threaten to shut off the bandwidth to ENOM, Inc if they receive a lot of complaints about something which is being allowed to occur over their bandwidth by companies downstream of them as the main provider of internet access. I realize you want to make the stalkerwench stop her whacked out behavior, but this might gain you some measure of justice too.

# ARIN WHOIS database, last updated 2009-10-31 20:00

Something I found to be interesting while performing this brief search occurred...when I pinged .appalhost.com earlier...I also saw 'this' -

@ubuntu:~$ ping appalhost.com
PING appalhost.com (207.210.65.21) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from tek32.spindry.com (207.210.65.21): icmp_seq=1 ttl=49 time=97.5 ms

So I decided to check out SPINDRY.COM with a WHOIS search...

I found it a bit too much of a coincidence that Bill Carpenters business/registration address of record in Bothell, Washington is rather geographically close to ENOM.com's address in Bellevue, Washington.
Looking at Bill's .org website would indicate he's a bit of a family man - OR - he may not even be a real person - but something to throw off an investigation. There hasn't been anything done to his website since the stated date of April, 2000. Heheh, AND the damned domain wasn't even registered or in existence until January 2002.

Or perhaps I'm just a cynical fucker. But if I were a detective with the force of the law behind me...I'd have a lot of fun tracking down your crazy stalker bitch and rattling a few cages on the way to her.
The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.
wow that was really cool!

Hi WellMadeMale - http is messed up for people with under 20 posts - it was a measure introduced to prevent spammers signing up and posting their rubbish. I should have made it more widely known, apologies
I would so print all of this out Birdie and take it to the cops. Just to let it be known that you will not roll over for assholes like this.
Thanks for all of the information everyone. I called tracfone and they told me, "You have a stalker. Go to the police." Then I went to the police and they said, "You have a stalker. Call your phone company." So I got ticked off and replied to the sender, telling them that I have turned their information over to the police, including their name, license plate number, home address and place of employment. That was friday (after the third round of 200 messages). I got 127 more messages pretty much saying, "Awww...poor baby." But it has not happened since then. I guess we will see what happens tomorrow.

I am going to print all of this out and take it to the police. They did tell me that they have an internet genius on staff during the week.
Hey Birdie.....Give me this bitch's number. I can text her the way she is texting you and make her wish she would of thought twice about it! LOL
♥ Listen, touch, and look around in the air and on the ground. If you watch all nature's things, you might just see a fairy's wings. ♥
If only I had her number, I would post it right here so everyone could call and say hi to her.
And believe me I would. I get free LD so it's not like it's any skin off my ass.

Does it not show in your sent text messages? It should show the number.

No, because it is not being sent from her phone. It is being sent from an anonymous internet account.
