OK, well, let's get things started.

Lights on, Lady Dryad has cleaned the joint up.

Tea Kettle is refilled and steaming away. There are pots of Red Rose and Earl Grey available on the sideboard, plus fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.

Big Bertha has been desludged, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.

Today we're using High Octane Corsa Brand Coffee, because Lady Jay and I are travelin' today to Toronto to visit friends, relatives, and the dentist, pretty much in that order.

I've put out donuts for y'all, with Sara's sprinklies set aside with her sports section.

Plus I've got some apple pie with ice cream.

And, for you ladies, I have a special treat cumming up…

So, since Kimmi's been providing holiday treats, I thought I'd get into the spirit a little bit…

And we'll add a little Christmas music from The Boss – and I don't mean Santa!

I'll get coffee and tea started, shall I?

We're using Kona coffee today, from The Shmooz, my old haunt in The Six (that's in-talk for Toronto), where Lady Jay and I are visiting friends. I've got regular, run-of-the-mill donuts for them what don't want Lion's Christmas cookies, plus some kind of goodie made with pistachios from the local Pakistani bakery.

Try it, you'll like it!

Jay and I are going to go down to the lakeshore and walk the boardwalk, as we used to do when we still lived here.

I've been a busy girl, but I hope to be stopping by more regularly again.

With a little luck, the last of the gifts will arrive tomorrow, and we can get them all wrapped this weekend.

My amaryllis bulbs are growing tall; I'm hopeful that they will wait a few more days before they bloom. Otherwise, they may not still have flowers on them by the time the kids get here on December 26th. Ah well. At least WE will get to enjoy them.

Heading up to Michigan next week for a Christmas party, a visit with my oldest girl and her fiancé, and our granddaughter, helping out with our grandsons, and a visit with my sister and her husband. Then it will be back home for the holidays! Our son and his family are coming down, and so are my youngest daughter and her man. It would be nice if the weather warmed up, but at least my heart will be warm.

Well, it's a travel day here as Jay and I will be going back home – after visiting the dentist for check-ups and cleaning.

But more importantly, my extensive(?) records tell me that today is Lysari's BIRTHDAY!

I've put out donuts for everyone, with Sara's sprinklies set aside with her sports section.

Plus I've got a nice selection of macaroons from the French bakery on the Danforth.

I've put out, donuts this time, with Sara's sprinklies set aside with her sports section.

Plus I've got some strawberry scones with double clotted cream – MMmmmmm! Unfortunately, the berries are from California, and look big, ripe, and luscious – but taste like cardboard. They're clones, and bred for beauty and to transport well, but they don't taste like much. Oh well – it's what we can get at this time of year, OK?

I'm sure Lion will wander in soon with some tunes, so, I'll wander out as it's Market Day!

Speaking of chilly… Thing 1 and Thing 2 in Storeroom 4 are complaining their manly bits are getting chilly at night, so I’ll be in my corner crocheting them some Willy warmers. I’m taking orders if anyone else wants one. I could do a polar bear size one, if needed.

As of today, both my daughters are officially adults (it's youngest's 21st birthday). We're taking her out to Elf: the Musical and her first legal glass of wine.

I also recently finished writing the final chapter to a book that was equal parts writing and exorcism. It was a hard task, but it feels so good to be close to the finishing line.

So, I'm starting out the day in a party-ish mood. Drinks are on me! I'd love a coffee with just a tad of bourbon in it. Layla would dig a Lavender Blossom, her fave mixed drink. Hope everyone is well!

Don't tell your daughter, but Seeker Jr. started drinking at eighteen. Official age in Ontario is nineteen but he went to university in Ottawa where you can walk to Quebec and their drinking age is eighteen. Needless to say, the bars and liquor stores in Gatineau, Quebec get a lot of visitors from Ontario. 😉

Squeezed in a walk today after a long shopping trip (made longer by a medical appointment somehow lasting an hour). Not been feeling the greatest and I fear a migraine coming on but we shall see. For now, I am still safe to drink. That Lavender Blossom thing sounds interesting. I have actually been to the place where they make Blue Curacao on one of my cruises. Let's have one over here (and no snide remarks about it being a "girly" drink).
