Heads or Tails? I’ll take Heads, Butters.
And nice face pic of your furry friend.
Good afternoon. Weather continues wintery here. Had snow around lunchtime.
No Advent story yet. Might end up taking a pass at the rate things are going but we shall see. To be honest, my writing is in some disarray right now. Too much else is going on.

Wintry stuff coming here again, too, Mr Ape. I kinda love it, but I work from home so I don’t have to drive in it.
Kindness is contagious. Spread it! ❤️
I'm aware of the wintry weather – we had to drive through it to get to Ann Arbor, where we are now visiting my brother and SiL. I did wave as we passed London, Ape – hope you caught it!
And good Sun(?)day morning, y'all! Here in eastern North America, we're in the grip of the Great Polar Vortex – not to be confused with the Great Polar Bear, which is me. It's more organized.
I have an idea for a comp entry, I just have to find the time to write it – and then pare it down to 1500 words.
A partridge in a pared screed, as it were.
NVMD – let's get some caffeine brewing.
Lights on, Lady Dryad has cleaned up and we’re ready to go.
Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Red Rose and English Breakfast teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.
Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.
Today we're using Lumberjack coffee – good to the last drop! TIMBERRRRRR…
I've put out beignets with powdered sugar – and a stale donut for Komplaining Kimmi…
Plus I've got some Bear claws for y'all.
Take care out there, 'K?
An incredibly talented, but modest Polar Bear, often mischievous, but never malicious!
Thank you for opening up, Bear... I will try a lumberjack coffee. Thank you. 😊
After a few wet, windy and grey days... it feels like spring here today, although I know it won't last. Apparently, the temperature touched 18C/64F yesterday, not far from where I live in the South of England. It is also not far from a record high temperature for December. 😎
PS: This morning, I caught up with reading the Advent competition stories. If you're looking for something "a little" different to read. I do recommend Darksides: The Nativity
My comp story: The Sex Days Of Xmas
My latest story: Cash In Hand 7 - "All In The Mind" - Part 1 of 2
Sheep, I now have a couple stories with comp potential going. One is probably more straightforward porn, one has some story to it. SO now I might have to choose one for the comp and hold the other for later. Yeesh. Brain, what are you doing to me? It's deluge or drought

Story of my life…
Write both. Go with your gut on which for comp. I like more story, but masses will like more sex probably.

Which is exactly what I was going to suggest. My story doesn't have enough sex in it, but it was the story my brain wanted to write.
Coke Zero, please! But no goodies! I'm trying to be good since I'm going on a family cruise next week. Taking the kids and the grandkids on a Disney cruise as their Christmas present this year. (Used every single DVC point on their cabins and had to pay cash for ours...so I'm guessing their gift to us is spending time together...which works for me).

Hey! I have a life, too, y'know Kimmi!
Jeez, you serve people for years, and one lousy day off with the family and you get shouted at.
OK, so here we go for a Thirst-Day.
Lights on, Lady Dryad has cleaned up – or at least as much as you lot deserve.
Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Yorkshire and Darjeeling teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.
Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.
Today we're using Balzac's Blend coffee.
I've put out donuts to stop Kimmi from bitching.
Plus I've got some English Butter Tarts – which reminds me of a girl I once knew in England…
She could melt in your mouth like butter. 😉
And I've got Coke Zero for Kat. She's already slim and sylph-like, but if she wants to convince herself that her family will love her more when there's less of her, then go for it!
Kat, have fun with your kids & grandkids. I'm sure they'll love the ship. Which one is it? The Treasure?
Take care out there, 'K?

You once lived in England, Bear? 😳 We have plenty of Butter Tarts here, but I have never seen a Polar Bear here. Not even in a zoo! Next, you will be telling us you were born over here! 😊
Drinks are on me today, as I found out this morning that I'm 94th on the LushStory story-like list. Only another 93 places to go to join Cat on the lofty summit. 😜🤣
My comp story: The Sex Days Of Xmas

Mr. Bear, what a lovely thing to say! But you misunderstood. I'm being extra good with my diet this week so I can enjoy whatever I want with the kiddos next week.
Congrats on making the list, David. The only trouble with being up on top is feeling the need to stay there. So, I try not to pay attention to that detail. It tends to spark my competitive nature. 🙀😻
A dear friend’s wife is having surgery on a brain aneurysm today. All positive thoughts and vibes welcome and appreciated.
Lots of great stories in the Advent comp. I am going to try to read a bunch more today. 🎄

No, I wasn't born in England, David, but I lived in Cambridge for a while.
And, of course, I married an English girl…
So I'm not English, but I know something about Blighty – and her denizens!

Did someone say "butter tarts"? 😍 Two and a hot, strong Darjeeling tea. So I am now officially sick of winter more than a week before the Winter Solstice. I have shoveled twice more in the past 24 hours (plus a neighbour blew out a plow drift at the end of the drive while I was at work yesterday) and drove to work in whiteout conditions this morning. I just hope this winter is front-loaded and things will improve later.

Speaking of your English girl, please say hello from Kevin and I. Perhaps some day we will be able to enjoy a meal together again. 🥰

Denizens? That's a good word. I googled it, and now I know why you lived in Cambridge! 😊🤣

Morning all, coffee please. I had a story for the comp but the premise was so obvious I ditched it. Not sure if I'll get another done. We got a bit of snow here too but that was fun because I got to use my new snowblower. Most of the bad weather was south of me. I used to live in England too.
Evening all, hot and humid down under. Yes, James, of course I am referring to the weather. Apologies for being absent for a while, life is super busy with, well life and a four year old. I took a break from writing, but saddled up again and published this: Emma's Examinations and am working on Gooning for Godot for the competition (though tbh I am not sure I will get it done.) I hope everyone is good, Christmas is coming and the beach awaits,.

Good to hear from you again, Annie. 😊 Enjoy the beach, though it isn't getting dark in Sydney? 😜😈
I can highly recommend Annie's story; the scene-setting opening pulls you right in. Great characters.
A mug of Yorkshire Tea, please, Bear. 😊 Thank you.

And… it's Get-Fried-Day, plus Jay and I will be travelling home today, so the weather gods had better behave!
Kat, I will pass along your wishes. As for breaking bread together again, we'd love that, but the odds of us returning to Florida any time soon are somewhere between slim and none, especially under the current regime. We're joining a lot of other Canadian snowbirds and going to Mexico instead.
But you both are always welcome at Casa Bear!
OK, so let's get things started.
Lights are on (checks for flickers, nods, satisfied), Lady Dryad has cleaned up and we’re ready to mush ahead.
Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Red Rose and Earl Grey teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.
Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is steaming and ready.
Today we're using Dark 'n Stormy coffee blend from Caribbean Coffee Roasters.
I've put out donuts, and they're all festive and shit.
And, because it is Get-Fried-Day, we've got C&C – Coffee and Cognac, with whipped cream.
Take care out there, 'K?

More dental work this morning. Still trying to discern whether or not there is a correlation between teeth and sinus issues even though scan said no. At this point I will try anything.
These comp stories are impressive. Thanks to those who have read mine. If you haven’t, here is the link: https://www.lushstories.com/stories/love-stories/ill-be-home-for-christmas
If I haven’t gotten to read any of yours yet, rest assured I will today or tomorrow. 🎄🤶🏻

And good Saturday morning, clan!
You've all heard of The Clan of the Cave Bear?
Well this is that Clowns of the Rave Bar! Or the White Bear. Or … whatever…
I have a draft of a comp story. Now I need to see if I can polish it a bit.
You know the old saying (among men): If you shake it more than once, you're playing with it.
I plan on playing with it a little.
Caffeine, I think; therefore it is…
Lights on, Lady Dryad has cleaned up and it's Market Day, so…
Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Yorkshire and Assam teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.
Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is ready to please.
Today we're using Folgers, to please a Lion or two.
I've put out donuts and almond croissants.

Heard of it? Read and enjoyed it back in the day. Recommended by my grade 11 history teacher. Terrific novel and ahead of its time in having a Homo Sapiens-Neanderthal mating (sadly, it was a r**e) produce hybrid offspring. Mating between different species in the genus homo had been theorized but we didn't actually have any "smoking gun" evidence for such hybrids existing until the Neanderthal genome was published in 2010 and we could compare it to our genome. That comparison showed that some groups of homo sapiens have markers from Neanderthals and (more recently) Denisovans (aka homo longi if we accept a study from earlier this year). Yeah, we were a horny bunch of apes even back then.
Anyhow, I kind of bounced off the sequel so never read the rest of the series. Valley of Horses was basically erotic romance in animal skins with some scenes that wouldn't be out of place here but lacking in the story department compared to its predecessor. Though that's based on memories from 40+ years ago.
This weekend might be my Advent weekend. Two stories, one is really close to finished but I'm not happy with it entirely. Hopefully, I will come out of it with an entry.
Assam and an almond croissant.
A strange little something for Halloween.
Good morning all. Sorry for my recent absence. Christmas sucks this year. 2025 has been the worst year I can remember and I'll be happy to see this one drop into history
My family is 2000 miles away and I'm getting a steady stream of pictures of my new grand niece, which is thoughtful, but only reminds me that I can't be there. They keep asking for pictures of my Christmas tree but evey time I look at that box I just can't get the energy up to open it to out it up. It seems rather pointless to go to all that effort now.
I've tried to write a bit but I'm not feeling the slightest urge to think about anything erotic at the moment. Or anything else for that matter. I do regret falling behind on my reading though. I will catch up at some point.
You are all good friends and I haven't forgotten about any of you. I just ask for some patience.
Tomorrow is a showdown between my Rams and the very scary Lions. And then Thursday they play the seahawks. Winning both of those is going to be virtually impossible.
Well, give me something strong I can pour in my coffee and keep em’ coming. I'd rather be in a coma right now.
And I swear if I see one more Christmas commercial I'm throwing something heavy at the TV.
Merry Christmas

I get it, David! You’re in the boonies, unplug and ignore the whole damn holiday thing if you need to this year. You can kindly tell family you are unplugging for a bit, too. We’re all here if you need anything!
A bright new year will await you! ❤️

Good morning, everyone! New here. Thought I’d share what I am drinking right now, as I try to warm-up. It was a brisk -6 (felt like -23) this morning when I woke up a few hours ago. I have a feeling I’ll be drinking hot coffee all day!
Also. here is a little Saturday themed honkey-tonk music for your listening pleasure.
