Good morning, campers! It's Sunny-Day, and promises to be so here in the Great White North!

Let's kick things off with some caffeine and pastries!

Today we're using … Happy Camper coffee from Kicking Horse Coffee Roasters.

And we've got a selection of French goodies, but showcasing chocolate éclairs and Crème Brulé!

Tea, of course – Yorkshire and Assam in pots on the sideboard, and all the others in the box.

And some music to get us started until Lion and Jane show up…

And my last element story is in the queue — “Swallowing His Flame”. This has been my favorite comp theme ever!

I think my Wind story may be my best of the four, but still happy I entered “Fluid” since I’m a water gal and it represents how water soothes me.

And now I feel another writing break here. Was kinda manic writing during all the health stuff with my sister and me. My biopsy came back “inconclusive”, so the doctor wants to wait and watch it, retesting in six months.

Oh crap. I have had that with a biopsy but never one this serious. Took three tries to get a conclusive diagnosis of a skin condition I have. We already knew it wasn't cancer, just not what it actually was.

And good morning y'all. Still sick but seem to be on the upswing. We shall see. Got a long week of meetings ahead, basically making up for the two and a half weeks I was gone. If I survive this, then I can survive probably anything short of the Apocalypse. However, one of them is about The Project, which we are having a conflict over with corporate. If this one goes badly, I dust off my retirement notice because I am getting too old for this shit.

Some tuneage to liven up the morning. Noora Louhimo left Finnish heavy metal band Battle Beast last year and is now doing TV appearances as she ramps up for a solo career. Noora has a powerful, bluesy voice that can handle mainstream pop and rock every bit as well as her traditional metal. She belts and shouts like almost no one else. A couple samples.

And one of my favourite Battle Beast songs from a fairly recent live release.

And the band goes on by the way. They named Brazilian Marina La Torraca, who I already knew from her previous bands Phantom Elite and Exit Eden as their new vocalist and she debuted on their Asian tour this past winter. Here's Marina with Phantom Elite.

Hey Kimmi: I'd take "inconclusive" as a positive; at least there is no clear evidence of something bad but that can be so frustrating.

Mine came back positive which was no surprise but I've already been treated so all is well. My doc is pretty cool and she has a very relaxed demeanour which suits me well. Our convo:

Lyfbuz: "So I'm not going to die then?"

Doc: "Well, not yet."

And today we have some fancy-smancy donuts, buttercream cuppycakes, and some of Kimmi's favourite cinnamon buns!

Gosh, Lion and Jane appear to AWOL – Absent With Our Love!

Oh, well – I just hope they're OK, what with all the tornadoes and storms rolling through their part of the world.

Rainy here today, and cool, but not cold, so that's a mercy, as my grandmother used to say.

Arborists coming today to prune and tend the maple in the front yard. Hope the rain stops before they start! It must be miserable working up high in the rain, but this is one of their busiest times of year, so I'm sure they just keep going.

And speaking of keeping going – let's get Bertha going, shall we?

I found some French Roast coffee at Costco, so that's what Beautiful Bertha is providing today. It smells terrific – too bad coffee doesn't taste as it smells, eh?

Yorkshire and English Breakfast teas in pots on the sideboard, plus all the other goodies there as well.

And some authentic French pastries that I stuffed in my suitcase for your delectation and delight!
