Seeing as I love to read, I thought I'd ask who else here absolutely loves to read?
I LOVE reading. However, I also love writing and I can't do both close together. I'll start stealing turns of phrase and sometimes plot points without even meaning to.
This weekend we had a power outage. I couldn't grocery shop so I started re-reading a Harry Potter book. In two paragraphs I'm admiring craft; in four I'm immersed in story. Bliss!
I love to read late at night when the frogs of the chorus and the knees of cypress bends. I always have a book nearby on my end table.
In my youth, I used be a book a week, sometimes more than one. I even polished off a novel in a day on occasions (one boring morning one summer I blew though H. G. Wells' War of the Worlds, admittedly for the third or fourth time, by lunchtime).
These days, I have time again now that our son is grown but I seem to have lost the will. Managed one novel recently and even that took a couple weeks (and it wasn't War & Peace or anything, just a so-so s-f steampunk-ish thing). I'm trying, but just don't seem to getting where I want to be reading-wise. Admittedly, I'm having the same problem with catching up on my TV and movie watching. I have the time now, but the will/interest just doesn't seem to be there. I fritter away much of my viewing time on Youtube rather than actually watching "real" TV (meaning primarily Netflix for me). I have managed to get through Nova's series on prehistoric disasters (Killer Volcanoes, Killer Hurricanes, Killer Floods), though, so I guess there is hope.
I love reading but have the same problems as some have already stated.
As Burquette above said, I don't read as often as I used to because ideas become entangled with my own stories and that is not a good thing.
Time is also a constraint. When I have time to read a book, that is the same time I have to write one and so reading takes a back seat.
My other half bought an Autobiography for my Birthday, two weeks ago (Jenson Button, F1 Driver). So far I have only managed the Prologue!
I read a lot, probably 3-5 books a week if not more. I don’t have a problem with it sleeping into my writing that I’ve noticed. I have a pretty unique style of writing (probably not a good thing) so I don’t have an issue.
"A dirty book is rarely dusty"
I used to devour books, sometimes two or three a day. Nowadays I can't find the patience to do that anymore. Whether reading or writing, I just can't concentrate on it long enough to finish the story.
A little kindness can be so valuable, yet costs almost nothing
In many countries being gay is a crime, and even in modern societies, politicians try to legalise discrimination. Your voice can make a difference. Have a look at All Out to find out how.
Hey... pssst.... that's an l (as in luscious) at the end of my name, not an i Every spare minute, I am never without a book in my bag when I go out (to work or any traveling), need books by my bedside,
get through around 4 a week.
At least a book a month and am usually reading one and listening to an audio book too when I am driving.
I used to read about 50-75 books a year, but this past year, it's more like 35-50. If it weren't for having to manage a company, I'd be reading and writing all the time.
I am so inclined to read or write that I can't even eat a bowl of cereal without something to read while I do it. Or, if I see a blank pad of paper. I have to make lists of things, or write out my thoughts on something.
Given that I do a lot of reading and writing in my work, it is still a pleasure to read books that have no work application. I read more fiction than non-fiction and have stacks of books throughout the house. I usually have more than one book going at a time, and read at least one each week. I have been trying to cull books and give them away, but many are hard to part with. I have an ereader, but still prefer the old fashioined book in my hands.
I have mostly made the full switch to Kindle, for better or worse, and so read on my iPad (or even phone sometimes) at doctor's offices and appointments and such. I usually read most every night too.
I try to devote an evening or so every week to reading Lush writers. I am in a writing group too (though I only make the physical meetings sporadically) and always make time for their stories too.
I love to read and read all the time.
I'm a book a week type girl. I try to start a new book every Sunday.
I love reading. Everything. I always have two or three new books by my night stand to read before bed time or during the day.
I’m a book worm and I carry a book nearly everywhere I go. I read every night and sometimes through the night. Sometimes the story is so good I’ve got to finish before I fall asleep.
I like to read, but mostly in theory. I'm pretty dyslexic and I get migraines. Audiobooks are good.
I do not like to read books for pleasure. I do not have time. I normally read articles or publications for information when necessary. I will read a few stories like those posted here.

Owning a bookshop, it would be sacrireligious if I didn't read.
I would read whenever I get the chance. However, the only reading I'm doing now is my schoolbooks and anything related to school.
I pretty much read all the time.
I'm doing a lot of research these days so I kind of spend my life reading.
I do use audiobooks a lot more these days. They're great, especially if you have have to drive a lot.
Aside from the stuff I read for professional reasons, I usually read one to three books a week. At any given time I usually have between 2 and 5 books going. Novels I usually read front to back, but a lot of non-fiction (which is what I normally read) I pick up and put down constantly.
I read all of the time. Always have a book open on my kindle
Have to read a lot for my job. I'll read anything non-fiction, especially if it pertains to physics, astronomy or history. Not a great fan of novels; in high school took a course in Science Fiction Literature but never got the hang of reading the classics. I've got a personal library at home of over 3.000 books and constantly adding to it. Have several books that I'm reading now.
I am an avid reader. I read 2-21/2 books a week. When I’m engrossed in a great novel I’ve been know to tune out the world and get trancelike. Calling my name is ineffective. I need to be poked to become aware of my surroundings.
All the time, and I always take one with me wherever I go
I read all the time. I enjoy books more than reading on kindle though.
