I 'got' my first in-joke on Lush. ...wait, maybe she wasn't joking!
This weekend I talked to a couple of strangers for several hours, and then made it back home in one piece. Also, took my dog for a nice walk.

Don't believe everything that you read.

It's been five weeks and five days since I had a cigarette.

I changed the oil in my vehicle and managed not to cut myself.
went to see a movie, Thor, by myself.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

I love going by myself. Isn't it fun?

Congrats to Whiskey Violet, that's great!

I'm sorry.

A little kindness can be so valuable, yet costs almost nothing

In many countries being gay is a crime, and even in modern societies, politicians try to legalise discrimination. Your voice can make a difference. Have a look at All Out to find out how.

Hey... pssst.... that's an l (as in luscious) at the end of my name, not an i

That's awesome! It's been about 10 years for me since I quit. I still sometimes think about lighting up again, but quitting once was enough for me, I don't want to have to go through all that all over again. Anyway, it does get easier from here. Congratulations.

Also, I'm in awe of people who can do things to their cars (with or without personal injury). I have to take mine to the shop, and always feel like I'm being overcharged for relatively simple things I could probably do myself if I knew how.

Thank you! smile

Quitting has been interesting. All worth it. Even my boys are dealing well with the occasional outburst of my temper. Ten years? That wonderful! Congrats to you.

Changing the oil, a battery or a tire and flushing my radiator is about the limit of my auto abilities. I'll take a few scratches to do some things, the rest I take it to the shop and let them do what they do best.

I hired two new staff members yesterday and I haven't pulled my hair training my replacement.

Edited to add:
Thank you IAMLOVE, I didn't see your post earlier!
I made dinner!

Okay... I ordered pizza... online... but at least no one had to really cook.
I repaired a broken fence on my property, only to learn that the fence was not mine. Oh well. It was good practice, until the fence post fell down.
i haven't had any post halloween candy today - WOOT WOOT!

Say. Her. Name.

I aired up my car tires by myself for the first time last week. I was on such a roll that today when my battery died at work, I 1) purchased the replacement battery, 2) found and purchased the necessary ratchet kit, 2.5) learned what a ratchet was, and then 4) proceeded to take my entire car apart to replace said battery. For anyone who has ever had to change the 12V battery in a Prius, hats off to you. It was quite an ordeal. But my car FUCKING works and I've never felt more accomplished. *Insert Rosie the Riveter and Strong Independent Woman emojis here*

I got my grandson to give me a full belly laugh today ..... (3 weeks)

I think roast duck, certainly duck à l'orange [my fav] needs the recipe thread.

I have a recipe you would love. It is delicious ........

Just for you Hayley ......

Ciao
There are times she is kneeling out of obedience, reverence and respect. Those are the times it is okay to stand above her. But when she is kneeling because the weight of the world is just too heavy to bear … that is when You should be kneeling beside her.

I love going by myself too, but never get to. Going to see Blade Runner before it leaves the big screen would be a definite micro-success.

The next time you go by yourself, imagine warm, soft tentacles gently hugging you the entire time.

That you have Halloween candy left AT ALL is a micro-success. Ours is all eaten.
Resisted the urge to post a load of memes about how particularly stupid someone is.

I didn't embarrass my son by crying my eyes out last night. He passed his Eagle Scout board of review. I wanted to but, I maintained.
I've been helping in the c0stume department at my c0mmunity theatre putting gr0mmets in a bustle, placing g0ld ribb0ns 0n lampshades, and painting silver highlights 0n the hair 0f s0me w0lf c0stumes.
Halfway completed a rock wall bordering the front of my of my property.

I am ALWAYS embarrassing my daughters by getting choked up at some accomplishment they consider minor (or pretend to consider minor). I'm a pushover.

I installed new blinds last night!

Congratulations!

I remember the night my son pass his Eagle Scout Board of Review. I don't think I've ever been more nervous.

By the way, do you have one of these? (I do and it looks a lot like this one.)

I went to the gym and walked three miles, then donated plasma/platelets.
Remembered to take the garbage out to the curb tonight.... And now I should actually go do that. One sec.... okay done.

Also had a particularly nice bowl of soup today.

Don't believe everything that you read.

I faced most fears that I've had up to this point, although I refuse to sleep with the light off. No longer scared of the dentist or getting HIV, but I worry about Hep C because of all of the blood tranfusions I've had.

I have more personal ones that I'm not sharing.
I sent an expression of interest for casual employment. After another three months of persistent depressive hell it feels good that the fog has lifted enough to be ready to be productive again.
