Disney vs. Ron DeSantis

Today, Disney has filed a lawsuit against DeSantis as well as his appointed board and other government officials minutes after the DeSantis-appointed board voted to nullify a couple of agreements that gave Disney control over the expansion of their Disney resort in Florida. The lawsuit claims that this is retaliatory government interference after Disney spoke against a Florida education law, known as the "Don't Say Gay" bill.

This is part of an ongoing saga of DeSantis trying to rein in Disney's self-governing power in Florida. As part of this attempt, DeSantis appointed a board to govern Disney's decisions, only to find out that ahead of this, Disney rendered this board powerless for the next several decades.

Do conservatives even really care about less government control anymore? This war DeSantis is waging against Disney is the opposite of that, not to mention will have pretty dire consequences for Florida.

Discovery will be awesome but unfortunately this will cost Florida and not meatball Ron.

Actually, conservatives will probably act like he's a martyr. Fighting the gays to save the children or something.

DeSantis might've had a bad incident while wearing Mickey Mouse ears.

A massive entertainment company that is not exactly the most pleasant of organizations to deal with by all accounts vs. a right-wing asshole politician? Can I just vote them both off the island?

That said, this may be one time where I might actually cheer for the famously litigious Disney company. I was pleasantly surprised by how hard they were willing to go in their fight against Don't Say Gay.
