He said he wasn't going to be doing any business, that his sons would be running the show, there would be no conflicts of interest -- But he was lying about all that anyway.

https://www.citizensforethics.org/reports-investigations/crew-investigations/trump-made-up-to-160-million-from-foreign-countries-as-president/

Donald Trump made up to $160 million from international business dealings while he was serving as president of the United States, according to an analysis of his tax returns by CREW.

Throughout his time in office, President Trump, his family and his Republican allies repeatedly assured the public that his refusal to divest from his businesses wouldn’t lead to any conflicts of interest. Americans were promised that Trump would donate his salary, which he did, until maybe he didn’t—all while siphoning millions from taxpayers that more than offset his presidential pay. When it came to foreign conflicts of interest, Trump and his company pledged to pause foreign business. They did not.

Trump pulled in the most money from the United Kingdom, where his Aberdeen and Turnberry golf courses in Scotland helped him gross $58 million. Trump’s now-defunct hotel and tower in Vancouver helped him pull in $36.5 million from Canada. Trump brought in more than $24.4 million from Ireland, home to his often-visited Doonbeg golf course, as well as $9.6 million from India, and nearly $9.7 million from Indonesia

Trump’s presidency was marred by unprecedented conflicts of interest arising from his decision not to divest from the Trump Organization, with his most egregious conflicts involving businesses in foreign countries with interests in US foreign policy.

The full extent to which Trump’s foreign business ties influenced his decision making as president may never be known, but there is plenty of evidence that Trump’s actions in the White House were influenced–if not guided–by his financial interests, subverting the national interests for his own parochial concerns. For example, while campaigning in 2015, Trump bragged to a crowd in Alabama about his longstanding business ties with the Saudis. “They buy apartments from me. They spend $40 million, $50 million,” he told the crowd. “Am I supposed to dislike them? I like them very much.” In office, Trump continued to benefit from Saudi business and faced repeated criticism, especially in the wake of the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, for his apparent desire to shield Saudi leaders from criticism, going so far as to question US intelligence while parroting allegations from Saudi Arabia that Khashoggi was tied to the Muslim Brotherhood.

... chuckling ... I was inviting comments on the Hunter Biden/Biden Family legal issues, but a good effort nevertheless.

The plea was too lax. He’ll just negotiate another one. These aren’t serious crimes really.. everyone says they haven’t smoked weed before buying a gun.. who cares. Oh he owed taxes, oh wow how unique.

The reality is the more the republicans are desperate to make a mountain out of a mole hill the more pathetic they look.

No one cares about this besides republicans and republicans are already voting for Trump or another hog. Democrats will not switch to Trump over Hunter cheating on taxes and lying about drug use before purchasing a gun. Like if it’s criminal activity that is being considered Hunter is small potatas, the republicans are Ore-ida

Hunter Biden's minor league criminal activity pales badly when compared to the Major League crimes carried out by the big-assed man, Donald Trump. From tax cheat to treason, Trump is so arrogant and narcissistic, he thinks he is immune. From serious prosecution. He'll look good in a tiny cell.

And l'd love to see Rudy Gullianni go down for his criminal lies, etc. Not just disbarment, but real hard prison time for Gulianni..

That's pretty hardcore, Buz.

I like it.

most people know it is about President Biden and his role in the family’s alleged foreign influence peddling business.

Comments?

I thought it was about Hunter’s drug use?

Judge Noreika rejected the plea agreement and has imposed “conditions of release” for Hunter Biden.

Unless I'm missing something, these seem like pretty standard requirements for conditional release, especially in a case involving substance use. Nothing to get excited about, not that I can get all that excited about Hunter Biden in the first place.

Don't believe everything that you read.

I guess you haven’t seen his cock. Republicans all fired up about it.

For those who are unfamiliar, for one reason or another, with this issue, the case against Hunter Biden has as much to do with his alleged criminal behavior as does that against Waltine Nauta.

It may not have received much attention where some live, but Hunter Biden is alleged to have sold the influence of his father, the then Vice President, to foreign

In selling the influence of his father to foreign interests, he should have first registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), which he failed to do.

Interestingly, the way the now-defunct plea bargain was structured, had Judge Noreika accepted the plea agreement, Mr. Biden could not have been prosecuted for his violation of FARA.

Hunter Biden kept his records of these activities on his laptop computer.

All the above is the prelude to the central issue of what influence Hunter Biden had to sell to those foreign interests. It was the influence of the then Vice President.

Had the Judge accepted it, the plea arrangement would have enabled Mr. Biden to have avoided prosecution for FARA violations, but more importantly, it would have shielded President Biden from any damaging exposure on that account.

... chuckling ... I expect the House to select a schedule to vote on the articles of impeachment as politically convenient as the one chosen for Mr. Trump.

What schedule do you expect?

For them to impeach Biden over Republican fantasies? Not sure, but you should hold your breath for it ;)

Fantasies? Are you disputing what is known already?

... but no matter. Enjoy your evening, Felix.

Enjoy yours as well, piggy.

I don’t expect you to read it, but there’s a powerful review of what the plea deal was made of, How A Federal Judge Turned The Tables On Hunter Biden’s Sweetheart Plea Deal

It’s worth reading for people interested in our 2-tier judicial system.

What is the actual objective of the Hunter Biden prosecution story - to go after Hunter's abuses - or to create the impression that the President's son's criminal activities are actually the result of the criminal vice-president's (at the times of Hunter Biden's infractions - the GQP is following 'standard prosecutorial conduct' by simply going UP the food chain in their multi-year running investigations.

Unlike most people, I'm not confused by the GQP investigations... I've witnessed what the end result is of dozens of Republican Political Investigations since the 1960s. They are always of the type to assassinate someone's character - easily done if someone in the target's family is committing criminal behavior.

They've never proved a Clinton Crime Family ever existed, but spent all of the 1990s telling America that Bill & Hill were cold blooded killers responsible for everything horrible in Arkansas and the USA.

Cervix is convinced it's to bust the Biden Crime Family Syndicate...and Ironic is showing us evidence only points to Hunter Biden.

Ironic's source for the article he's demanding Felix to read is:

Will Scharf is a former federal prosecutor, who also worked on the confirmations of Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett. He is currently a Republican candidate for Missouri Attorney General.

Ironic - quoting The Federalist to paint Hunter as a bad bad boy.

The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.

I don't agree with Sharf on anything that's likely to roll off his fingertips or emit from his vocal cords. I wasted 5 minutes of my morning reading his recent Federalist contribution.

More allegations - with zero proof of connection to his vice president father...with assistance spreading the vitriol throughout the internet by self proclaimed INDEPENDANTS like Ironic.

People get plea deals all the time, even your beloved criminal Republicans. Trump is floating his SENILE trial balloon ( https://www.rawstory.com/donald-trump-2662519478/ ) as of this morning, so maybe he too won't have to go to prison.
