12, picking potatoes in the potato fields of northern Maine

Did you ever work as a unionized employee, and which union?

Nope. Even when I was in the public sector, I was in a non-union shop.

Do you still work in the same field you started in after school?

No. All that studying for nothing.

Have you ever had to take a pay cut or take a job that paid less than the one you left?

When I changed career after my son's birth I took a pay cut and lost vacation. Been worth it in the long haul, though. I may have a director level position by this time next year.

No

How do you define success for yourself?

Success is when I define a goal and achieve it, on any scale.

Does not having success affect you much?

Sometimes, but I just stay focused and keep moving forward

How many family members have you lost?

I'm starting to lose count. Comes with getting older I guess.

How many births have you witnessed?

Just my son and he was a section.

Do you go to church/synagogue/mosque/whatever?

Never once.

Not really, as long as I can claim to worship the Great Old Ones. 😨 (Ia, Cthulhu!)

No

HYE faced your own mortality (sorry Seeker4), and what happened to get you to that point?

Immortality or mortality? I am not immortal so nothing to face but if you man mortality, it's happened a few times due to losses in my life. I lost four family members in the decade from 1984 to 1994, with two of them dying way too young (my mother in her fifties and her brother in his forties). And then one of the guys from my circle of friends from elementary school through university died suddenly in his forties back in the noughties.

Sang at my mom’s funeral, pallbearer at my dad’s

No. I'm usually the one who needs saving.

Yes, but I have advantages most people don't have.

I have been able to learn from others’ mistakes and have made smarter decisions because of it

The leverage of a buyer's market.
