If we really related, and they lived close enough for an ongoing relationship. Long-distance relationships never last.

What have you learned from your time on social media?

Many things, but I'll mention a few:

  • The internet never forgets, every little thing you expose will be stored and probably be used somewhere by someone

  • Not everything is what it looks like (already knew that, but on the web it's even more evident than in real life)

  • You don't have to see someone's face or hear someone's voice to forge an emotional connection with them

Do the things you've learned about the WWW make you more cautious than you are in RL about what you share and who you share it with?

I'm not tempted to do the things (or say the things) in real life that I do and say on the web, so I'm less cautious in real life, simply because I'm more cautious, if that makes sense. I've learned to curb my out-spokenness a bit online.

Are you curious what others think of your online persona?

It’s different personas for different platforms (Lush ain’t Facebook), and I used to be curious. Now I find it hard to work up any enthusiasm for what other people think about anything, including what they think about me.

What aspect of someone you know only online are you most skeptical of? (That’s really badly worded but I’m still waking up)?

Amnesia - third place (Le Noir Erotique)
