I bought my home last year after my divorce. It was built in 1846 and I love it. I absolutely love the architecture of the wrap around porch, the red tinted cut glass in the dining room door, the built in bookshelf, the mudroom (now office), the picket fence in the back yard, and the gingerbread accents on the home, but it needs a facelift. I've been picking away at these things since I purchased it. I had the plumbing replaced, I put in a laundry room. I gutted and remodeled the walk-in closet. Added a second door to the closet to share it from the other bedroom, repaired and repainted the backdoor. But there is still much to do. Paneling was put in the living room and dining room because I fear the plaster underneath was falling down. That will come down eventually. This list of facelift items is vast and will occupy me for years. Structurally, she is sound.
