Looks like the worst of it is staying to the South of us but we are still in for 10-15cm (roughly 4-6 inches) of snow.

Is there a purpose of buying a home anymore?

Good question. Probably depends where you are and how much value you put on owning your residence. In many cities around here, real estate seems to have peaked so it's no longer the killer investment it was for the boomers and gen X. But some people just feel more comfortable owning their space, and I get that. You just can't expect to make bank on it anymore, at least in the places I am familiar with. Personally, I would rather have a smaller space than I currently do and wouldn't mind renting or at least going condo or co-op so someone else does the property maintenance.
