Winston Churchill:
" We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; We shall never surrender"

Some moments in music history are just pure magic.

Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks - Stop Draggin' My Heart Around (Live)

Johnny Cash - As Long As The Grass Shall Grow
Original version from his 1964 album Bitter Tears: Ballads of the American Indian

Johnny Cash reworked the lyrics to his 1964 American Indian protest song to reflect on and describe his relationship with his wife, June Carter Cash. He recorded this as a duet with her in 1996, and though it will never match the historical and emotional impact of the original, I like it.

All those junior high nights underneath the front porch light
A good Catholic girl during the day

Love when a song is both beautiful and personal, and evokes memories.

When I wake up in my makeup
It's too early for that dress
Wilted and faded somewhere in Hollywood
I'm glad I came here with your pound of flesh
No second billing 'cause you're a star now
Oh Cinderella, they aren't sluts like you
Beautiful garbage, beautiful dresses
Can you stand up or will you just fall down?

My love is the evenin' breeze touchin' your skin
The gentle, sweet singin' of leaves in the wind
The whisper that calls after you in the night
And kisses your ear in the early moonlight
And you don't need to wonder, you're doing fine
My love, the pleasure's mine

Another song from my childhood popped into my head. OK, I liked this, not to proud to admit it! HAHA

OK, Back To Reality.................Thank God!!

Brand new Cancer Bats album out this week. Long live punk/sludge/metal music.

Nikki, if you haven't seen this yet, you are in for a treat. Rock 'n' Roll and beautiful women. Enjoy.
Plus, you can never get enough cowbell.

Feel the fire, feel my love inside you it's so right
There's the sound and the smell of love in my mind
I'm a toy, come and play with me, say the word now
Wrap your legs around mine and ride me tonight

I'm a man - I'm a goddess
I'm a man - Well I'm a virgin
I'm a man - I'm a blue movie
I'm a man - I'm a bitch
I'm a man - I'm a geisha
I'm a man - I'm a little girl
And we make love together

OMG, yes. I got their 'debut' album (they've been together so long its hard to wrap your head around that concept lol) and loved it!! And this new album rocks too!! In some ways, I like them even better than Thin Lizzy. Btw, just curious, are you sure we weren't seperated at birth or something??

Since my last post had a Thin Lizzy connection, here's one that may be familiar to many.

This is the version likely most familiar to most, at least most of us in America.

And the original, or at least as close to the original arrangement of this song as you will ever hear.
