Hi I'M having problems with where to capitalize & run on Sentences. The more I read in the forums the more messed up I seem to get! Any Help would be gratefully accepted. Please Mail me for my Latest Story.

In Anticipation Thanks
Kylie
Hello Kylie

There are many threads in the Writer's Resources that may help you with punctuation and other editing issues including run-on sentences.

If you want more information. there are both books and websites available on style/grammar for writers which are helpful.

For a humourous look at all of this, I recommend a small book called "Eats, Shoots and Leaves".

As a mod who edits and verifies stories for this site, I thank you for persevering and asking for help before submitting your work.
Hi,

Our "Essential Reading" section is a good place to start.

Specifically for run-on sentences, this is a useful resource: http://grammar.ccc.commnet.edu/grammar/runons.htm

Grammar Book is a fairly good site to learn basic grammar rules, read their section on capitalization.

Once you've run through those resources, please update your story and submit it.

Our story verifiers are a very kind and helpful group of people, they are sure to help you polish up your story if it needs further work.

Cheers,

Nicola

I too commend you on your efforts. As a self taught writer, I found that the best resource for me was to examine how other writers structure their stories. If I were wanting to construct dialog I would look closely at printed books as well as stories here. By paying attention things like where the dialog was placed in the paragraph and how quotations were placed in the sentence, you can learn a lot. You would be surprised at how many of your answers are sitting on your shelf right now.
