I would just like to say thank you to Nicola, the Lush administration, and this "Writer's Resources" forum and also send out a BIG thank you to DirtyMartini. I often come to this forum to see the new posts, and if it had not been for a post by DirtyMartini, I never would have seen the one in the "Essential Reading" area for the "Call for Submissions" link he posted.

I submitted a story I wrote to one of the editors calling for submissions listed there, and after a month, I had a response. While I was rejected, the editor told me that my writing was exactly what he was after, that I was a very "prolific" writer, and while the story I submitted to him was not what he was looking for at the moment, he told me he wants to keep me in mind for future submissions.

Although it was a rejection, I look at it as a positive thing and after all my time on Lush and having stories approved here, I know one day all my hard work will pay off!

Thanks once again to Nicola, the Lush administration, and DirtyMartini for the much useful information!

If you loved me,
You would be here with me.
Don't lie to me,
Just get your things.
I've made up your mind."

Thanks for the lovely message SD.

Above all else, this site is the result of a team / community effort.

I'm glad you're finding it a useful resource, helping to improve your writing.

Good luck with getting your next submission published.
That sounds very promising SD. Good luck. Perhaps 2012 will be the year you get published!
That's great!
Don't forget us when you're all big and famous!
Thanks Lush...and who? Oh yeah, that DirtyMartini guy is actually useful once in a while...but don't expect too many people to believe you...

And glad you found some encouragement there SD83, if you keep submitting stuff it might pay off someday...I started submitting stuff to paying gigs September 7, 2010 and almost exactly 14 months later I got a contract with a traditional print publisher and have a story of mine published recently in a Christmas anthology on Dancing With Bear Publishing...

Here's the link btw...it's the book on the upper left, btw...

So, all I can say, is it takes a bit of patience and tenacity...and some day you might get lucky...

And getting lucky is always good...in writing and other things...

You know you want it, you know you need it bad...get it now on Amazon.com...
