Congrats everyone! I look forward to reading them all.
For me the process usually begins when I see a snippet of something play in my head. Sort of like a movie preview. Usually it's the opening scene of the story, or the ending. Occasionally I will see a picture online that will inspire a story idea.
Once I have a basic idea, I come up with a title. Eventually the characters just start coming out and introducing themselves. And then they bug me to write their story. Usually late at night when the rest of the world is sleeping.
I think the hardest part for me is coming up with realistic dialogue that doesn't sound completely cheesy or totally unrealistic.
Sure...it's fun. Sometimes I go without and let him discover later. Even more fun. LOL
I always leave a tip, but the type of service depends on how much I tip.
If I have to ask more than once for a refill on my drink, or extra napkins, the amount automatically goes down.
If the booth is dirty, or the food is cold by the time it gets to the table, the amount goes down.
However, that rarely happens. I have been known to tip up to 50% of the total bill for excellent service.
For me, it's happened a time or two. I find it kind of odd, but it doesn't stop me from reading the story, especially if the characters personality is nothing like mine.
A lot of men have a fantasy about two women together, because it suits THEIR fantasy to allow it to happen, in hopes they become the yummy center of your threesome sandwich with another woman, but a lot of men have issues with sharing a bed (or their woman) with another man. It's threatening to them, because "OMG what if his penis is bigger than mine?!" A lot of men will be afraid if they let another man near their woman, she will run off and leave him.
I guess is it depends on if you want to be with other women or men. I imagine he would be a lot more receptive to an extra female bed partner than a male one. Just remember, if you decide to go poly and have an open relationship, he may start sleeping with other women. If you can't handle that, don't expect him to be able to handle you sleeping with other men. Regardless of the dynamic, there should be a lot of open and frank discussions before anything is acted upon.
In the summer, yes. In the winter, no.
For a woman to be with a man is always an exciting rush of power. There is that initial thrill of the first touch, and the promise of ecstasy that follows the first thrust. There is an urgency of need in the act of two bodies coming together, of masculinity in control, taking, demanding, invading everything that makes a woman soft and feminine. There is a moment, however brief, when she becomes totally submissive and receptive. She gives herself totally over to her man, body, heart and spirit. She is completely his, at that moment when his body enters hers.
But no matter how dominant the man’s nature, or how thoroughly he takes her to the stars and back, when a man invades a woman, the ultimate conquest is hers. The woman captures the raw masculine power of a man within herself. There is a moment when he realizes she has not rejected him, but rather, she accepts him for everything he is, and everything he’s not. He’s helpless to resist the allure of her breathless cries, the heat of her body engulfing him, and the pleasure in her face. However dominant his nature, it is she who is the one who turns the powerful tide. For when he finally surrenders his soul to the first moments of climax, it is he who is laying helpless upon her breasts at the end.
I kind of go by five different criteria.
1.) My name becomes well known enough to make me want to change it legally.
2.) I make enough in book sales each quarter to not need to work at other things.
3.) Someone I don't know asks for my autograph.
4.) Someone who "hates" reading falls in love with books because of something I wrote.
5.) I make a top ten list on the New York Times Best Sellers List (and stay on it for more than a year.)
I will feel like I have "arrived" as an author when all five of these things happen. But until then, I just write for fun.
I think that a lot of writers try to give readers what they THINK they want to read about. So if something becomes fairly popular, (like BDSM Fifty Shades style) a lot of authors will write about it, to keep up with the latest trend. Lately, squirting is the new "g-spot". Everyone wants to make it happen, either in real life or in fiction.
I'm new here, and just looking around.
Do you have a favorite author on Lush to recommend?
What makes them great?
I consider a story finished when I have written the last word, edited it about ten times and have read through it so many times my eyes go a little bit cross eyed, and I can't stand to look at it one more time.
When he comes up behind me, wraps his arms around me, cups my breasts in his hands and kisses my neck...or nibbles.
Then he makes me laugh the times when he squeezes them and says BOOBIES!! and giggles like a 12 year old.
The day before yesterday. Although I did spend 10 years being celibate after a very bad relationship. I just had no interest in anyone for a long time. I spent most of my 20's putting my life back together. The few times I did date someone, we just didn't click well enough to get that far.
I won't write about anything grossly immoral or illegal.
I also avoid writing gay/lesbian/transgender stuff. Since I'm straight, I will leave that to people who actually live the lifestyle.
I don't write vampire or faerie stories.
I won't write about spouses cheating on each other.
I won't write anal stuff, or about people licking each others butts. Really, I can't think of a bigger turn OFF. It's unsanitary and gross.
I've never missed a single episode of:
Castle (Can I just say, I really hate cliffhangers...)
Bones (One of the best season finales yet...plus...I know who the Mole is.)
NCIS (Sob!)
Criminal Minds (OMG, OMG...Don't die!...)
Scandal (Grrr...Does anyone know when does the next season start?)
Planning on Eventually Watching:
The Big Bang Theory (I hear it's funny.)
Orange is the New Black (Because everyone talks about it.)
Mike and Molly (Because it has Sooki from Gilmore Girls!)
Grimm (Because my man says it's good.)
Game of Thrones (Because no one will shut up about it.)
The Vampire Diaries (Because...hot men!)
Rizzoli and Isles (Because it's got Kate from NCIS)
I'm a little bit obsessed with Scandal at the moment. I really don't care for politics, but that show sucks you in.
Firefly, Eureka, Army Wives, Gilmore Girls, Alias, Dollhouse in that order.
I like air popped popcorn (with salt) and mixing chocolate covered rasins or dried cranberries or M&M's in it.
You grab a handful and get a little something sweet mixed into the salty.
Yogurt covered pretzels are always good.
