𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 - 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬
Roses are red
They lived their lives in selfish light,
While I was left to brave the night.
Within the madness and the pain,
I watched my childhood illusions wane.
I learned too young, through bitter tears,
The truth behind the fairy tales,
How castles crumble, armor fails,
And no white knight would just appear
To rescue me from what was here.
So I became my own defense,
And built a life that made some sense.
I fought the storms, I bear the scars,
And walked alone beneath the stars.
With every sacrifice I made,
I grew a strength that cannot fade—
A self-made woman, standing tall,
The one who made it through it all.
Yet deep inside the fortress wall,
The little girl remains quite small.
With longing for a love she never knew,
She dreams of what she missed and wanted too.
It wasn't found in storybooks or youth,
But still she waits with quiet, hopeful truth,
That past the hurt of all the lonely years,
Where survival washed away her tears,
A real and gentle love will rise,
To finally see the real me in his eyes.
And someday soon, the shield can fall,
Because she survived it, after all.
