Story Comps: the stories will be judged on overall quality by several highly competent judges. In the end if any contestants voted down competitors' stories and recruited friends to do that also, all that will not matter. It is unfortunate, but that happens. The very best stories, like cream in milk, will rise to the top.
If an entrant makes the top ten, they should be proud of their work. If they make the top three or win the comp, they should be be seriously proud of their work.
If you enter a comp remember these factors, writing quality, grammar, plot-concept and story line, action, showing over telling, eroticism-sexual hotness, realistic dialogue, character development, and best usage of vocabulary.
