Atlanta came in #33 on the EIU list. I really like living in Atlanta. Our biggest problem is traffic congestion and commute time. But we rate high because of reasonable cost of living and we have several outstanding hospitals that rank among the best in the USA. There are also three world-class universities in the metro.
Atlanta rates as the best city in the USA for African-American entrepreneurs and executives. It has also been ranked as the best city in the USA for college graduate millenials to start their careers. And ranks at #3 for LGBTQ living.
I like that we're just over an hour from the mountains, and have several accessible large recreation lakes for water skiing, sailboating, motorboating, and fishing. The city has the most tree coverage of any large US city. The night life is outstanding. And Atlanta is the Hip Hop capitol of the world.
The climate is subtropical, so we get a lot of sunshine and warm weather for outdoor activity, though the summer heat and humidity promotes a lot of nighttime outdoor activities.

I think I'm having a bit of a food hangover, and I did drink quite a bit of wine. Another Thanksgiving in the books. I am thankful.
So far this a.m. a few cups of hot black coffee, a steak biscuit, and hot buttery grits. So now I'm starting on ice cold Bloody Marys. Later, my wife and I plan to do a drive into the mountains. It is a beautiful sunny, breezy day, slightly chilly. I'm not sure if it will warm up enough to take the top down, but still worth the cruise.

Legendary football player Jake Scott has died at age 75. Jake Scott was the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl Vll. He was one of the star players of the 1973 undefeated Miami Dolphins, the only NFL team to have a completely undefeated season.
An All Pro several times, Jake Scott was also a legendary All-American in college for The University of Georgia Bulldogs, playing on the 1966 and 1968 SEC Champion Dawg teams.
While a student at UGA, Scott notoriously rode his motorcycle over the top of Stegman Coliseum, the basketball arena, making him an all-time campus legend, especially considering a host of other pranks.
Scott had lived the last few decades in Hawaii, refusing nearly all contact with news reporters. It is reported he fell and hit his head on a rock while playing golf. Scott is considered one of the true 'wildman' characters in the history of American football.
