I'm tired of all this cold weather. Had enough of the snow too.

I'll have a scotch on ice, please. Cheers everyone!
JEN!

Congratulations! And thanks for being a great verifier and moderator. You always have been!

I am ordering these shoes now for next football season. I'll wear them to the tailgates and the games.

I agree. But in all those words the A sounds like the E in get. Cat and ket sound the same to me, and the difference between bath and beth is more in the length of the vowel than in its actual sound.

I am not familiar with an American regional accent where the vowel in wrath and beth are pronounced the same. I am very well traveled across the USA. If there was something like that, l'd guess it would be in New England but I can't place it. Is there anything like that in Australian accents or New Zealand? Or anywhere in the UK?

You probably aren't aware but actress Kathy Staff played Nora Batty in the long running sitcom, Last of the Summer Wine. Funny how things jump out at you, isn't it?

I didn't know that. That is entertaining. I've come across like patterns before. smile
The American pronunciation of wrath is like cat, rat, or hat. (No 'e' sound.)

Wrath, bath, catheter, Katherine, Kathy, staff, both the first two 'a's in Atlanta (the last a is like uh), all pronounced with the same 'a' in American English.

I was at school. The teacher was called out and came back in a few minutes to tell us. She turned on the class TV for us to see the news. Basically, all normal daily school activity ceased. I teared up. I remember thinking how can there be so much evil and hate in the world, but as the day went on, my feelings toward terrorists turned to deep rage. That eventually subsided.

Unresolved rage, lack of empathy, no respect for human life, racism and bigotry against different peoples, cultures, religions, or lack of religion, no conscience, depravity, and absolute radicalism of a belief system – the ingredients for terrorism.
Truthfully, I find so many things attractive about women that it's impossible to say just one thing or even two does it. The attraction is way beyond physical, it's mental, and communicative.
I have to think real hard cause he's a Mets fan... Geez... OH! He's an awesome writer!

This will help you have warm thoughts...

I am way behind on things and I'm going to make catching y'all's comp stories a priority, then go back to the older ones in my queue and start working my way forward again.

I need a nightcap. Make it a red wine to help me get sleepy.

Cheers!

Y'all be extra nice to poor Buz. His beloved Bulldogs lost the college football national championship,, and in overtime after never trailing during all of the regulation game. In all seriousness, that's gut-cutting tough to take for any fan of any team in any sport.

Free drinks to all who promise to be extra nice to 'The Linebacker.' So whadda ya want to drink?

BTW, 'Bama fans get charged double for the time being on account as how they'll be way too excited after that dramatic, come-from-behind win to ever notice the surcharge.

That ending ripped my heart from my chest and stomped it flat. The Dawgs came so very close to winning it all. I had yelled my head off at the game and my voice was gone by that time. My wife cried. It was a somber and very slow slog it felt like as we trudged out of the stadium.

But before the season began everyone expected Alabama to win it all. Their team is so deep in talent. The Dawgs were predicted to be improved, maybe win the SEC East and win about 10 games, 11 if lucky, which would be a great improvement over the year before. The Dawgs far exceeded expectations. SEC East Champions, SEC Champions, Rose Bowl Champions, and almost won the National Championship Game.

With our outstanding coaching staff, who also are awesome recruiters, I fully believe, the Dawgs will be a major contender and make it back to the National Championship Game again sometime very soon, maybe a few. I think with our new Coach Kirby Smart, the UGA football program is seriously on the way. We had the #3 recruiting class in the nation his first season and the #1 class in his second season. Plus bunches of players who'd been underperformers, he and his staff turned into players who not only gave 100% but had greatly improved their skill and knowledge of the game. Great coaching does that.

So, Rump, I guess our pro teams, the Falcons and Saints are still alive and we got some more football to watch. I'd like an ice cold Sam Adams lager.

Yep. I have very few guns. Most of my collection is swords and knives. I have a lot of World war two knives. A lot of Japanese and some Nazi stuff that my grandpa picked up during the war. I like 19th century British stuff, but prices get a bit high when you go past that time period. My favorite stuff to collect was Black Devils memorabilia.

The Black Devils were a joint American-Canadian special forces unit during WW2 that generally did the most dangerous missions (like scaling the cliffs at Monte Casino) and suffered the highest casualty rates during the war. I have a bunch of knives, patches etc.

IMA is good for British and American stuff. They've even got civil war cannons and flintlock pistols. Items are way more expensive if you want them to actually fire. Personally I don't care if they fire or not. I like them purely for the historical significance.

If the really old antique guns do fire, I am still wary, especially of the old blackpowder ones. But I do love collecting them. I love WWII stuff too. I have a M1 Garand. If just feels exciting and nostalgic when I shoot it, and has that very familiar sound.

I am familiar with The Black Devils. That is actually very cool to me, that combination American-Canadian special forces unit. North Americans united! And seriously, Canada has been an awesome ally and friend to the USA. And by far, most Canadians I've met and known, I have really liked them. As I always say here in the south, if you meet a tourist or transplant and they talk either like a yankee or similar but are very nice, cordial, and friendly, they are a Canadian. Not to knock yankees too much, I know some yankees who are awesome, too.
We really don't need men running around in banana hammocks.
Oh, the NFL Playoffs...

Congrats, Rumpy, on your New Orleans Saints beating the Carolina Panthers. Drew Brees put on a masterful quarterbacking exhibit.

I am very happy my Atlanta Falcons beat the LA Rams. Unfortunately a couple of great Dawgs, Todd Gurley and Alec Ogletree, both are team captains on the Rams and had to be eliminated from the playoffs. Gurley was considered one of the players in the running for the league's MVP.

For me, tomorrow night is beyond huge. The College Football National Championship Game. My Georgia Bulldogs vs Alabama's Crimson Tide. Go Dawgs!

I'll have Jack Daniels on ice... lots of Jack.
When receiving a blow job, I like to be reclined in my recliner, eating a sub sandwich (or pizza), a cold beer, and sports on the televison. That really caps off receiving a blowjob.

In summer, I'm nude most of the time at home and in my back yard, in and around the pool.

I've noticed!

Hi Beth! Howdy, and I hope you're having a great weekend. Hugs!

Not sure that's a valid argument...

That's a good one.
I just felt very disappointed. In college, a very good looking sorority girl pursued me hard. So I gave her a try. I was too nice and went out with her for a about three weeks. But she was totally a dead fish in bed and slowly her true character came out and that was a dead fish too. The last couple of times I pretended I'd orgasmed just to end the misery. I just couldn't take her anymore and dropped her.

Now that’s a bit harsh!. The Bee Gees were world wide stars and a perfect example of how you can make $$$ by wearing pants that are too tight. I have highlighted the money making genius on the picture provided. Clearly, those jeans need to come down. A bit. I think they could have distributed their hair between themselves more evenly though.

No wonder they could only sing alto.

I have some WW1 rifles (An Enfield and a Springfield) but I've found older stuff pretty hard to find. They are expensive and transporting across the border is a bit of a pain the the ass.

Do you know any good places to buy from? I don't buy much stuff anymore but I used to get most of my stuff from IMA (International Medical Antiques) out of New Jersey. I bought a flint lock pistol a few years ago but it was super expensive and I super regret it. Now I prefer 19th century and up.

I really got the bug by having a family heirloom Civil War Enfield passed down to me. I've been lucky twice on word of mouth deals. My best luck has been talking with local gunshop owners. The South is especially loaded with old guns. I've also purchased over the internet. IBefore I knew better I spent too much for one at CollectorsFirearms. You're right, they are very expensive and the internet sites charge prime prices. I've still bought there though. When you want something bad enough, well... Everynow and then I just check out the internet sites like OldGuns, etc.

I almost forgot: http://www.cabelas.com/category/Antique-Firearms-Gun-Library/103799880.uts

I've found a couple of guns at Cabelas I really like.

I've been bird hunting in Alberta and after a bunch of paperwork, I was able to bring my shotgun with me, in a locked case, in baggage. Canada did a serious background check on us since we were bringing guns. One guy with a DUI more than 10 years before was denied and that was his only ever legal infraction. They wanted more documentation on my motorcycle traffic tickets but didn't deny me.

Don't you have some antique swords and other blades? Did you find some of those at IMA? I'll check that one out.

Can somebody please give one possible reason why North Korea would send nuclear missiles to Australia?

I feel like having the smooth, sweet taste of a Maker's Mark bourbon on ice.

Howdy y'all! I hope everyone is having a great evening.
I second that rain on a tin roof.

Crickets at night.
Rain at night but not a thunder storm.
Waves crashing on the beach.
A crackling fire.
Blasting black powder guns.
My wife laughing out of control.
The deafening roar when the Dawgs score a touchdown in Sanford Stadium.
The near absolute quiet with just barely a water trickle when sailboating on the lake.
Blues music.
Boot kickin' fiddle & steel guitar real country music.
The soft sizzle of mountain trout in a frying pan.
