I agree with all the advice given so far. The only other thing I could add is to write to please yourself. I find if I do that it translates to pleasing my readers. I came to Lush having never written fiction and after my first failed attempts I changed from trying to meet other peoples expectations to meeting my own. It has made a huge difference in what I write.

Ping re Grapes, my two cents. He had his moment in the sun that he was stretching to be his moment in the sunset. I personally did not like him as I thought he was too prejudiced towards many. I also could not stand his continual references to small town players who were totally not pertinent to viewers outside of Ontario. They do deserve their place in the sun but not on National TV. I think he should have been let go long ago, however I think his firing was not well done. He should have been allowed to fade from the light with his contract not being renewed and severally admonished for his comments and forced to apologize or quit on hi own. We don't need that type of hero in Canada as there will be many that are polarized one way or the other by his firing. For those here who are not Canadian it might be hard to understand the fuss. Hockey is almost a religious subject in Canada.

Colt I might be clueless and from Quebec however I know hockey. Max Domi played from 2011 to 2015 for the Knights and Mete from 2014 to 2017. Domi was born in Winnipeg and Mete in Woodbridge, Ontario. So please don't sling aspersions at Quebecers when you are the one who is mistaken in your information.
