Apparently, this can be compared to the actions taken by Goebbels in 1930's to close down Free Speach and anyone who opposed Hitler;
The 1930s saw the press in fascist countries co-opted or suppressed. In Nazi Germany, Joseph Goebbels’ ministry of propaganda saw to it that only state-approved stories were told. Independent journalism was not just discouraged – it was dangerous. Writers were shot. Books were burned. To facilitate the Fuhrer’s dominance, the Third Reich subsidized the production of cheap radio receivers called Volksempfänger, which not only made money for friendly manufacturers but also channeled distraction and Nazi communication directly into people’s homes. In Italy, Mussolini’s regime did much the same, using media as a tool to consolidate power and propagate fascist ideology.

Just my two pennies worth as an 'observer' from across the pond.
Precisely. They are following his playbook page by page. When one opens their eyes the parallels truly horrifying.
ICE budget coming in 2026 that is larger than many nations military budget, 100 BILLION to be spent.
Construction of detainment camps underway and many more planned.
The decision of the (far right) SCOTUS along ideological lines that allow ice to question and detain people based solely on the color of their skin and racial profiling
Brian Kilmeade’s revelation on Fox News of their preference to use lethal injection on homeless Americans, what would be tantamount to mass murder of millions based only upon the fact that they’re poor and the Republican Party feels no need to repudiate that
And then we have Trump‘s ongoing suggestions to start wars of land acquisition in Canada, Greenland, Panama, and now Venezuela and Mexico
The parallels are chillingly, consistent with a government that is intent on replicating Nazi Germany to the point where you should almost be calling this country the fourth Reich, and that’s in addition to the assault on the constitution as illustrated by the FCC‘s attempt to silence opposition and Trump‘s recent post insisting on the prosecution of his enemies without even naming a crime
