I've not had a sugar daddy, although I provided the income in our household while I was married.
1) yes thats why i came here in the first place.
2) fiction. the "true tales" tend to be poorly written
3) its less the category, then the writer
4) Like Clum mentioned, I've read so many, that it has to be an exceptional one before I feel the urge.

we have something like an EP, only it goes to an entire series. it's judged solely on the entire series, not individual chapters, and it's only awarded to finished series. i believe that Ravenstar, DD, and Alphamage have been awarded one so far?

DD, alphamage, principessa, and Delphi(co written by myself)

however, I noted that when we got the red ribbon, it kicked the little blue thumbs thingee off, and it only shows on the first of the three chapters.

construction workers, farmers, guys who work with their hands in wranglers.

Bikers, not just guys on a bike, but a guy who can ride his bike on a tight line down a twisty road

I guess this means I need to get on finishing that next story

Hey gav,

This was getting buried in the assorted stuff that's been posted here, so I was hoping I could direct this your way, by repeating it.

I noticed yesterday that the audio section doesn't have the tabs at the top like the others do. No popular, viewed, or suggested little tabs nor a trending authors list. would it be possible to add these? As a reader I use them to find things to read/listen to and as an author it is incentive to try harder.
Ive got a few in progress, 2 collabs with a couple people, that are turning out really well and Im excited about, and a piece of my own that was supposed to simply be a flash piece. somehow its grown, the characters have switched on me... again.

Nuh uh. I know crazy. I am crazy. You folks have just plain lost the plot...

Whoa, whoa, whoa Lady. Who said anything about plot?
or an alternative peppercorn steak, for those without a microwave

Steak au Poivre with Brandied Cream Sauce

Sauce

4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 medium shallot, minced
1 cup low-sodium beef broth
3/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon brandy
1 teaspoon lemon juice or 1 teaspoon champagne vinegar
table salt

Steaks

4 strip steaks (8 to 10 ounces each), 3/4 to 1 inch thick and no larger than 3 inches at widest points, trimmed of exterior gristle
table salt
1 tablespoon black peppercorns, crushed
1. Heat 1 tablespoon butter in 12-inch heavy-bottomed skillet over medium heat; when foaming subsides, add shallot and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 2 minutes. Add beef and chicken broths, increase heat to high, and boil until reduced to about 1/2 cup, about 8 minutes. Set reduced broth mixture aside. Rinse and wipe out skillet.

2. Meanwhile, sprinkle both sides of steaks with salt; rub one side of each steak with 1 teaspoon crushed peppercorns, and, using fingers, press peppercorns into steaks to make them adhere.

3. Place now-empty skillet over medium heat until hot, about 4 minutes. Lay steaks unpeppered-side down in hot skillet, increase heat to medium-high, firmly press down on steaks with bottom of cake pan, and cook steaks without moving them until well-browned, about 6 minutes. Using tongs, flip steaks, firmly press down on steaks with bottom of cake pan, and cook on peppered side, about 3 minutes longer for rare, about 4 minutes longer for medium-rare, or about 5 minutes longer for medium. Transfer steaks to large plate and tent loosely with foil to keep warm.

4. Pour reduced broth, cream, and 1/4 cup brandy into now-empty skillet; increase heat to high and bring to boil, scraping pan bottom with wooden spoon to loosen browned bits. Simmer until deep golden brown and thick enough to heavily coat back of metal tablespoon or soup spoon, about 5 minutes. Off heat, whisk in remaining 3 tablespoons butter, remaining 1 tablespoon brandy, lemon juice or vinegar, and any accumulated meat juices. Adjust seasonings with salt.

5. Set steaks on individual dinner plates, spoon portion of sauce over steaks, and serve immediately.

Dirty_D .... for me, it's been fun (well, maybe more .... enlightening) when my narrator has been a male. The spin is just different and refreshing.

it was fun, but took me rather by surprise. Considering the result was an RR and 4th in the last competition, I dont think it turned out a complete bust. but I literally had to go back and rewrite half of my work. I was typing along fairly content with things when my character reached for her cock. I tried explaining to scarlet that that was not how things worked. (s)he gave me the look and said "my name is shaun."
You want to hear weird? My story that I had mapped out for the last competition was pretty straight forward as well. until the main character revealed to me that "she" was actually a he. talk about throwing the writer for a loop.

"Look, I don't know HOW to write as a man. I've never been one ya dig?"

"But that's not who I am! you have to let me be me."

"How can I write you if I dont know what its like."

"Itll be okay. Trust me. Ill help you."

"but Ive never HAD a penis. well i mean i have, but never like that. its never been attached to me."

"itll be okay."

happened again this weekend, although I was on the bike, not running, and on a different route.

I was passed by a man who pulled over into the ditch and opened his trunk. As I approached he tried to flag me down. (I sped up when he opened his trunk!) once I passed he got back in the car and followed me for a way. It was forested section of a busy road. Just as I approached a store, and was about to turn in, he left.

I shouldnt have to worry about this.
I can see how it would be fun with a dance track though. I like her voice smile

So you are going to discriminate against those who have had a mastectomy? Shame....
I'm of the opinion it is very personal to each relationship.

I was in a relationship where my ex and/or myself traveled a lot, for extended periods. So for us, a lid would have been a cheat, but neither of us was upset by sex, as long as we let the other know.

I've also been in a relationship where he was monogamous physically, but was constantly sexting others. And this was a betrayal in my eyes.

Just picking up the thought. I'm not sure if fractional scores between four and five would work and how those could be implemented so they are intuitive to use for readers.

What I've got in mind would be a more detailed scoring system with individual scores for different aspects of the story. Just making up an example from the top of my head:

1. Character development

1 - [ ] Huh, there were characters?
2 - [ ] Yeah, there were characters, I remember now.
3 - [ ] Interesting characters! I even remember all their names!
4 - [ ] Your characters were lovely distinctive, gimme more of that!
5 - [ ] Wow, I felt as if I was your characters' heads!

2. Plot

1 - [ ] What plot?
2 - [ ] Something happened, but nothing important.
3 - [ ] Cool, this story had an interesting plot!
4 - [ ] This wasn't just plot, this was storytelling. Very good!
5 - [ ] Outstanding! Kept me guessing what would happen from the first second right until the end!

3. Writing level

1 - [ ] It was okay to read
2 - [ ] There was a certain flow in the story, at least mostly
3 - [ ] This story flowed well and was fun to read
4 - [ ] Well-written and imaginative language
5 - [ ] Brilliant! This story wasn't just written, it was painted with language!

4. Dialogue

1 - [ ] A bit plain
2 - [ ] I could see that you tried to make the dialogue work
3 - [ ] Your dialogue worked well for your situations
4 - [ ] Loved the dialogue, each character even had a distinctive voice!
5 - [ ] Absolutely brilliant! Witty, imaginative and absolutely believable!

5. Suspense

1 - [ ] Sorry, there wasn't much to look forward to
2 - [ ] I almost fell for the hints, but they were a bit obvious
3 - [ ] Yep, you kept me guessing!
4 - [ ] I couldn't sit still for even a moment! Well done!
5 - [ ] I kept biting my lip and chewing my nails. God, I almost died from suspense!

6. Eroticism

1 - [ ] The sexy parts need shaping out.
2 - [ ] There were some sexy moments.
3 - [ ] This one was sexy and had moments I loved!
4 - [ ] Wow, absolutely hot!
5 - [ ] Sizzling! I've got blisters on my skin!

If all of these were weighted equally, we as authors would perhaps get more detailed feedback about which parts could be improved and which work well while the combined scores we get through these would be better balanced. If readers could filter for certain aspects that are important to them, they could get some value as well.

Finally, what's not included in the scoring above is the explicitness level. This might also be an interesting information for readers - it might also be something the author sets when submitting the story. I do know that some of my regular readers are a bit out of their comfort zone when I submit heavier stuff.

How explicit would you rate the language of the story?
[ ] Tame ..... [ ] Romantic ..... [ ] Sexy ..... [ ] Dirty ..... [ ] No holds barred

I'm quite aware that my suggestion couldn't replace the existing scoring system and mixing scores between both would be rather pointless, so it would need a separate display and a catchy name to take off.

I would love to have this on my stories!
