Paying our employees way more than our competitors do to keep the best people working for us even though it costs the family more in profits at the end of the year.
Do you support worker strikes for better wages and safer working conditions?
+
what else can workers do but withhold their labor? I mean really, without strikes employers hold 100% of the power. Sure you can quit, which means you're near irreplaceable most of the time because many cannot afford to quit.
Do you think the truth matters any more?

Hi peeps
A beautiful day here even though it's chilly .
A large hot chocolate with a double handful of mini marshmallows would be great
Tiptoeing over to my hidey hole and retrieving my donuts and sports page and then moseying over to my favorite corner booth* im so behind in my reading and soon as this head cold takes a hike I'll play catch up .
Elyse I totally understand how you feel . My very first crush that left a lasting impression is John F Kennedy Jr and he died in a plane crash in 1999.
Mine was Mrs. Emma Peel (Dame Diana Rigg, in the 1960s on one side of the fence, on the other George Clooney. He's still alive but very married and very far away. Mrs. Peel lives on in my mind.

And let's put some more delights out for the assembled multitude. I wish I could learn how to do that whole loaves and fishes thing – it would sure save on the pastry bills!
Donna, I've got your Boston Creams, and Mr. K, your jelly donuts, plus some assorted pastries for anyone else.
Enjoy!
And here you are just as I have fallen below minimum Caffiene standards And with delicious butterfat James, I shall diet on Monday
You really are trying to fatten me up

<snip>* Also, my frozen shoulder, even though still frozen, is getting better each day. I am starting to be able to do more things with my arm, like wash my long hair again. 18 months using one hand to wash long hair has been trying & tiring.
Morning all... afternoon here.
I'm another that doesn't celebrate thanksgiving but I have been very thankful for the support I've had from my Lush friends through what has been a very trying year. Ironically, I've been moved to tears far more from that than my diagnosis or treatment. I'm not thankful for the cancer but in a weird way I am, it brought me closer to some people and helped me see the bright light that shines from them, I think they know who they are and thank you so much.
I so feel for you Angel, I felt my shoulder pop about a year ago and it steadily got worse. I was finally diagnosed in July by physio considering everything else, it pissed me off that that it could take 3 years to straighten out. Thankfully, since seeing the physio and doing the exercises she gave me, in the last month I've noticed it starting to improve already, but what a pain... literally and metaphorically.
Seeing as James is struggling, I found these Boston cream bites, hope these will tide you over Donna. And I brought my own JAM doughnuts, I know Vee is partial too, so I got a lot.
Thanks, Mr. K. You're a brick – and I mean that in a nice way!

in my family our tradition is Beaujoulais Nouveau at Thanksgiving. It goes well with the Turkey, the Shrimp, the Salmon and well, pretty much everything we will feast on together. Tomorrow it's margaritasOOHH…Hoity-toity! Bojolay Newvoe, eh? Well, I think we have a bottle somewhere around here somewhere, probably from around 1987…
How about the Georges Duboeuf 2021? They're usually pretty reliable. And may I join you in a glass?
I haven't tried this year's Nouveau, but I generally am not a fan. I think it tastes more like grape juice than wine.
Santé!
The Georges deBoeuf is in fact what is in my glass

I am thankful for my Mistress Miss Laura, who inspired me to write my first story Meeting my Mistress A London Adventure and really all rhat followed including my novels. I am thankful that I grew up without want and for the friends and family who have shown me so much patience and love.
And I am thankful for coffee and the caffeine shooting through my veins.
Later there shall be wine.
I'm so glad you decided to drop in, Donna, and add a touch of class to the D/s scene around here.
I also forgot that I got our suppliers to bring some Boston Creams, but just didn't put them out.
And what kind of wine did you have in mind? We have one of the finest selections of mediocre wines from non-vintage years and bland blends in cyberspace, so…name your poison!
Well, then i simply must snag one of those beauties before they disappear. in my family our tradition is Beaujoulais Nouveau at Thanksgiving. It goes well with the Turkey, the Shrimp, the Salmon and well, pretty much everything we will feast on together. Tomorrow it's margaritas

So, Kimmi's Spanking Club (appropriate choice of words) meets today, eh? Hmmm…I wonder if Kis has sold the broadcast rights yet? I'll have to ask…
It's Wodin's-Day, and for many Americans the start of an extra L O N G weekend, so let's get things started!
Tea Kettle is rinsed, primed, and ready to rock! Fine teas and sachets of Swiss Miss hot chocolate are ready on the sideboard, along with some fresh mini-marshmallows. (And Sara, I know Henry likes Cheetos, but he shouldn't have those either, OK? It takes forever to comb the crumbs out of his new winter coat!)
Big Bertha has been desludged, grounds set aside for Carlissimo, rinsed, refilled with…some clear-ish liquid, and reassembled. And believe it or not, we have Odin's coffee for Odin's day, so … two cups, coarse ground, refit the lid, pat her on the nozzle (for Michelle), flip the switch… and …strong coffee's on the way to help all our soon-to-be- weary travelers.
Now, donuts – Timmie's I'm afraid. But I did find some turkey-shaped cookies, so there you go.
I've put Sara's sprinklies, plus her sports section (Toronto Star) in her hidey-hole, plus putting goodies by (a donut AND a cookie) for the Sweet Set – Kimmi, BG, Angel, Lilly, Harley, and Vee.
Sorry, Mr. K – no jelly donuts. I'll see what I can do later!
Stay safe as you go, folks. And be considerate of the other people desperate to see their families, some for the first time in two years!
And enjoy your traveler dinners, you turkeys.
Wait…that didn't come out quite right…
Never mind. Enjoy!
Oh, I guess I can do sprinkles with my caffirne to give me the energy I need to get through work.

Well, if you really want to explore chaos theory there’s a truly funny book by Connie Willis called Bellwhether. I thinks it’s kind of cool to think that my choice of morning caffeine might affect the world. But also a terrible responsibility. And so I must reach for a donut.
Connie Willis is an amazing writer! Her story about time travel and the Black Plague is astonishing! I wasn't aware of Bellwether, so thanks!
BTW, Donna – salt, or no salt, with your margaritas? It's getting on towards that time of day…
i like mine with salt. And the name of the book you're thinking of is the Hugu and Nebulla award winning Doomsday Book, but frankly i recommend anything Connie Willis writes. Want to know what life was in the Blitz? Read Blackout then All Clear. She is one of our greatest living authors, and a very funny woman.

I need to stay away from this place. I’ve seen the posts here, and I can think of no room with a higher butterfat content. I fear that if I continue reading my ass will not remain worth eating. And that would be a tragedy, at least for me. But, could someone please pass a Boston cream before I go?
This is a common complaint, especially among cupcake lovers. I would urge you to drop by Stall Three for my Sunday Special All In, Top To Bottom Slimming Massage and Very Happy After. I make no claims whatever for it's body therapeutics, but honestly, you won't care. That I will guarantee.
And I'll make sure there's Boston Creams for after
Sunday you say?

How can you ask this question? It shifts from day to day Yesterday it was PJ Harvey. Today it’s Porcupinr Tree. Tomorrow it will probably be Wolf Alice. Or Jethro Tull. Or Todd Rungren. Or maybe I’ll be lusting after Patricia Barber or Lucy Dacus. I reserve the right to change my mind.
