Active Ink Slinger
Watched it last night - paints a very bleak picture of the state of the US medical / insurance industry. Opening scene show a guy stitching up a huge gash in his own knee, as he can't afford medical insurance.

I'd heard it goes on, but the insurance companies actually have teams of investigators trying to find any fault with your original application when you first signed up with them, and if there's any errors whatsoever, will simply refuse to pay - an absolute disgrace

Still, it's a business like any other I guess - just the price if higher when you're counting dead needlessly

Some reviews: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/sicko/

Exposes the U.S. as a very dangerous place to be any combination of poor, sick and old and suggests that the AMA ought to consider changing its Hippocratic oath from 'First, do no harm,' to 'First, check the wallet.'

Those guys are very popular in the UK. A great series. I think Lush means the "Mighty Boosh" - also comedy gold.

I bet she gets backache fairly quickly in the crab position.

I would argue the exact opposite.

For example, the internet is the largest encyclopaedia there is - and is accessible to almost everyone in the developed world. How many people have an encyclopaedia these days? I don't know anyone that does. You can find out about absolutely everything in interweb land

That one is Cruella De Ville in 101 Dalmations I believe!

I like this game, here's an easy one:

"50 bucks grandpa, for 75 the wife can watch"

LOL - they may have taken it as well for 101 Dalmations, but it was originally from the wizard of oz.

No idea about that quote! A hooker's talking of course...hmmm....

Ok, how about this:

"Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead"

"I'd hate to be you if I were me"

"Your mothers c**t stinks like carpet cleaner"

(all from the same movie)

Ah, the good old Mickey Rourke in Barfly. I thought he was good in that, but preferred AngelHeart, one of my all time favorite films.

Here's an old one:

"I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog, too!"

Bottled water is the biggest con. Few drops of flavoring, some added minerals and vitamins supposedly, and $4 a pop. Assholes.

Sounds about right Sami. I don't think this movie will appeal to women much at all.

In a nutshell, it's the story of a young boy bullied at school, who befriends a gang of skinheads, at which time his life goes from bad to worse. Probably similar to "Made in Britain", the movie that launched the excellent Tim Roth's career.

Would be nice having a 3 hour dvd of a fish tank like that, stocked with hundreds of different varieties... scuba diving is great but you can't stay down that long smile

I was amused by your comment, Filmgoer. I don't see much cinema but I have read the name in reviews I suppose. Now at least I know what he looks like too.

Who do you rate as worst among the females?

Sandra Bullock. No-one comes close to how abysmal she is as an "actress".

Damn that's funny. My Japanese friends will love that, they are at language school at the moment. Actually, they probably wont get it

It's a tricky one to call, but I'd have to say Nicholas Cage. He's so wooden he makes Pinocchio look real - I mean, seriously:

Good guess Bigdog, along the right lines. It's from Goodfellas.

"He's got a real purty mouth, ain't he?"

Clue - early 70's movie...

I guessed about 4 correct only

Sweet - all that effort to blow a stranded deer off an ice pond - well worth the tax payers 20K to make that happen, when rednecks shoot deer on a daily basis and leave them to rot where they dropped.
