IMNewHere, if you like reading novels that will already give you the edge needed of what to do and what not to do. It takes practice, but it's rewarding as hell when your work is out there. You'll even have moments where you're like, "Wait... I wrote that?"

Off-topic, I am not entering the competition. Couldn't settle on an idea, plus I am not mentally in a place to write a comp piece. As it is, my laptop is on and I am staring at several drafts but have no desire to either complete the draft or start the editing process.

I LOVE reading them (although I have less and less time ). I'll have to pick the right theme and start writing... and see what comes out.
