And don't blow yourselves up!
Blow someone else… 😉
Okey Dokey, Bear. Headed to Storeroom 4 to find my French man.

Morning, Rumpies ![]()
Travel safe if heading out for the long weekend. I scribbled a lil something for Memorial Day. Never forget. ❤️
————
It was the way his amber eyes glistened with tears when he said, “There’s no one to remember me… if I don’t make it back,” that really affected me.
I’d met him mere hours ago, but pressed myself into him. “Then make me remember you.”
He was ferocious that first time. In and out. Done. He’d rushed, maybe panicking, already feeling the claws of war tugging. Not knowing when he’d feel the touch of a woman again.
But that second time, he took his time. He stroked my hair. Held the strands between his fingers as if memorizing its color and texture. Then he kissed me. Soft touches of lips with our eyes opening and holding in between kisses before we deepened it with opening mouths. His hands held my face. Mine held his. It was the best way for two strangers to form a meaningful connection. He was making a memory of something warm and soft to hold onto in the cold, heartless trenches.
“I haven’t ever brought a man I just met home before.”
“What made you do it this time?”
“Something in your eyes. I felt like you needed me. Not just tonight but maybe sometime when you’re out there fightin’, you’ll think of me and it will help you in some way.”
He kissed my forehead and nestled me in tighter against him. We lay there listening to the sound of our breathing. Pretty soon we fell into the same rhythm. It was nice. We felt connected.
When I woke, the bed was empty. A note on my nightstand read:
Thank you,
Someone to remember
*
Had he received my letter before the bomb hit?
I didn’t know, but I prayed the soldier knew two would remember him now.
I looked into the amber eyes that matched his. Held the boy who bore his name a little tighter, and knew that soldier would never be forgotten.
Morning, Rumpies!
Congrats, David, on being a grandad to twin boys! How exciting!
I’m gonna be a kinda grandma to baby birds. A mama decided my front door was a good place to bring littlies into the world. And… I’m contributing poof balls of Butter’s shed fur. 🤣 I set ball of fur outside nest and in morning she’s woven it in nest. ❤️
My heart is full ❤️
And then there were 20! ![]()

I don't know about anyone else, but I like the 'Element' competition badge. It's probably my second favourite of the ones I have so far gained. 😊
I really like it, too. All the comp artwork is cool!
Morning, Rumpies
Dropping off some Skittles I had lying around. Taste the Rainbow! ![]()
Happy Wet Wednesday, Rumpies ![]()
Louisville is busy with the lead up to the Derby. The celebs will be piling in for the parties. I got to attend one a long time ago when my ex-hubby was a sports anchor for an nbc affiliate. Was crazy!! Cages hung from the ceiling with dancers in them.
I’ll take a hot cocoa as it’s a bit nipply with the rain falling.

Hope everyone is having a good day. Fingers crossed for you, Kimmi.
Just recently published my first story in 3 months. Have a look at Ends, Means and Bitter In-Betweens.
Loved it, Carlton! Gritty. Affecting. What you excel at!
Facing a challenging situation forces a young woman to make difficult decisions.

Hey Kimmi: I'd take "inconclusive" as a positive; at least there is no clear evidence of something bad but that can be so frustrating.
Mine came back positive which was no surprise but I've already been treated so all is well. My doc is pretty cool and she has a very relaxed demeanour which suits me well. Our convo:
Lyfbuz: "So I'm not going to die then?"
Doc: "Well, not yet."
🤣
Ha! That’s funny! Glad yours is taken care of. I’m gonna try to put it outta my mind now.
And my last element story is in the queue — “Swallowing His Flame”. This has been my favorite comp theme ever!
I think my Wind story may be my best of the four, but still happy I entered “Fluid” since I’m a water gal and it represents how water soothes me.
And now I feel another writing break here. Was kinda manic writing during all the health stuff with my sister and me. My biopsy came back “inconclusive”, so the doctor wants to wait and watch it, retesting in six months.
This is a poem and not in the competition, but hits the theme using all four elements, and I love what the author did. If interested, it’s short, but well-chosen words, imo.
Lost within the elements.

Hey all, been kinda busy but thought I'd pop in to say hi. Paddling: thx for the Cult, one of my fav bands!
Hoping all the best for your results Kimmi. (Also waiting on some biopsy results.)
My approach or mindset on health issues may not be for everyone but the way I figure it: If I die I have nothing to worry about. If I don't die then I have nothing to worry about. Therefore: I have nothing to worry about. 😀🤣😀 So I ate a whole pizza to celebrate.
I'd like a strawberry soda please.
Hope your results turn out well, too!
I like your mindset and need to adopt it. Especially the celebrating with pizza part! :)
I think sex sells here. Plain and simple. In the 16 stories with the most favorites, the word “fuck” was in the title in 6 of them. Examples: “How to Fuck Me”, “Fucking Blind”, “Dare to Fuck with the Devil”, and “Fucking with Art”.
I think “The Black Rabbit” is my best writing because I was writing about a different era and trying to keep up with 5 very different characters. It had 3 long parts and was nowhere near top of my best reader received. I tend to like my supernatural stories, too, because I think I’ve created unique storylines. Sometimes my best storylines aren’t best executed though, so there’s that. I like the emotions in my gay male stories, but they don’t get many reads, etc.
I try not to worry about the votes, etc and count one happy reader as important as fifty.
