Since many of them are New Yorkers or living near New York, their ethnic identity is important. Sometimes I look through my high school yearbook for a first name and then a last name. Since my classmates were all New Yorkers, I feel pretty good about the names I pick. Sometimes they have mixed ancestries. A few of them are indeed WASPs. I even had one who was part French-Canadian, which is unusual but not unknown here. For that girl, I picked the last name from the movie Paths of Glory. where everybody is French.
I was already on another site, but I wanted to branch out so I joined about two years ago. Now I'm on three sites and it gives me a variety of choices to post stories without being stuck in one place.
Thank you for all of the help. I should have the first chapter posted near the end of the week and the next one a few days later.
Thanks, I think I got it - or I'll know for sure in a few days! I gather that entering the series name should be done at the very end - timewise - before posting, because it doesn't remain there when I reopen a story that's in the middle of the editing process.
Thank you for your response. Yes, I have seen the series blue boxes under the titles. When I tried it in drafts mode, it didn't seem to be there, but I suppose that is to be expected. I wasn't surprised to hear about the inability to insert stories in the middle, but that's true on other sites too.
It looks like the title of the story is in effect one of the chapters of the series. In other words, once I check the chapter story box and put the series name in that box - well, what goes in the title box? The same name as the series? The way I'm used to doing it elsewhere is exactly that; each "story" is a numbered chapter with the same name. I hope I explained that clearly.
Congratulations! I know it's a lot of work.
I hope I don't sound like a broken record, but please see my comment on "The Proud and Kinky" competition thread. It was posted yesterday and at the moment it's the last one. Great idea by the way.
I haven't read all 122 entries. However, love does end sooner or later.
My kids were quite young when I got divorced, so my ex and I did have a post-divorce something - not a quite a friendship, but some kind of relationship. Now that our kids are grown, we only talk on the phone every now and again.
Hey Lush, when are you going to announce this contest on the opening pages? There will be at least forty entries for this one, if not more.
By the way, I like the design with the red ball gag. It's very simple yet it captures one's attention.
I thought I'd have to give this one a pass, but then I came up with something. I even have the title.
When is the site going to mention this on the opening page, as they usually do with contests? That's how many of us find out about them.
You are not entirely clear about a few things. It seems that you witnessed this; you didn't just hear about it, but I'm not sure. Did the couple know you were watching? What were their reactions to your presence? Was there a confrontation of some sort?
Welcome to Lush! I've noticed that editing in Chrome (when the story is in drafts mode on the site) is easier here than on Firefox. Posting seems about the same. I have Edge but I rarely use it.
Have you ever published anywhere, online or in print?
It looks like there are four new entries in the last twenty-four hours or so. The last-minute pace seems to be picking up speed.
This is a little hard to explain, and I'm not even sure it's a good idea. I was thinking of publishing a chapter from another site as a stand-alone story on Lush. It hasn't been published on the other site yet. I was wondering if I could direct readers to the other seven chapters that have already been posted.
