1. Who are you (e.g. pen name, how you make a living etc)?

Liz. Web and Graphic Designer.

2. If you could host a dinner party for any five people (dead or alive), who would they be?

Martin Luther King Jr.
Jimi Hendrix
Oscar Wilde
Jesus Christ
My grandad

3. Riskiest place you’ve done it?

A poolside cabana of a hotel in Miami.

4. Best writing tip you’ve ever received?

Nothing makes a reader lose interest in a story faster than rubbish dialogue. Make it believable. The more authentic, the easier it will be for readers to become invested in the characters.

5. Which famous author does your writing most resemble?

I dunno. Most of my stories have an element of humour so someone funny?

6. Favourite story (and author) on Lush?

Not sure I have a specific story I'd say was my favourite. As for authors, Dancing_Doll and Frank_Lee are spectacularly good writers.

7. Any advice for new members of Lush?

Have fun! If you're not having fun, what's the point?
Fuzzy's donut pictures make me sooo hungry.

I have not received any email notifications for two days. What's up?

PM me your email address and I will send you an email from my Lush email address.

If it turns up then the issue is probably not related to the Lush mail server and is down to either notification settings or something else. If it doesn't turn up, then it could be down to something like a change made by your email provider.

Just out of interest, have you checked your junk folder?

If the competition judges here all had degrees in English literature, I would concede that competition judging accurately reflected which were truly the best written stories, but since that level of objective and qualified critical decisions is absent, the risk of bias due to popularity of authors and other factors completely unrelated to writing skill calls into question the impartiality of the decisions. Also, since very few seem to know the actual mechanism of how judges are selected, and how many judges have actually read every single story entry, this too casts doubt in the minds of the authors whether or not the competition judging is even remotely fair.

There's no doubt if Usain Bolt crosses the finish line first, but literature is not as simple as who gets to the finish line first. So let's not equate the two races as if story judging was so cut and dried.

I have a degree in English literature. I judge competition entries on lots of factors:

- Character development
- Plot progression
- Originality / cliches
- Writing style
- Technical expertise
- Eroticism
- etc.

I also know that quite a few other judges do the same thing. Questioning the impartiality of the judging process because the entire panel may or may not meet your expectation of being 'academically qualified' is foolish and unrealistic. As for who is offered a position on the judging panel by Nicola, she has stated before that they are people she thinks would do a good job and have a demonstrated proficiency in writing. If you can write a good story, you can spot a good story.
For the record, each judge has their own butt. They do not share one collective butt.

Thank you. smile
Broken image links are usually the result of the original image being moved/removed and the URL not working anymore. This would not be the fault of Lush.

The broken links you mentioned in your post, are the images still accessible where they are being hosted?

Edit: I had a look at one of the group threads that you have been posting in and there are quite a few copies of this image placeholder:

So, the image file on imgur has been removed. That's why those are not loading.

Also, worth bearing in mind that some servers will be set to disallow hotlinking to minimise bandwidth. That means you cannot embed it on another site such as Lush.
FYI: I've cleaned this thread up.

I did actually email Nubiles.net to make sure this was on the level and got a reply to say it was.

Any authors who are interested in this should PM the OP about details I suppose.

Honestly not sure what I can give you that wouldn't compromise my job or at the least get me in trouble with my bosses.

Give me an email address for someone at NF (you can send it to me in a private message rather than post it in the forum). I'll email them on behalf of the site. If they say you're on the level then I'll report back here that the offer is kosher.

Deal?

If you want to email me, I can send you a sample script of one of our scenes we filmed last year. One starring Aidra Fox, Jillian Janson, Tyler Nixon. I dunno what other sorts of proof you want.

Nicholas, my old mush, you're gonna have to do better than a address and a 'sample script'. We may be a horny bunch on Lush but we're not twenty-four-carat plonkers.

Idea 1 - Girl is trying to reach a thong under her bed and gets stuck even though there's loads of room. Stepbrother is walking past her bedroom and spots her. Pretends to help her get unstuck but ends up banging her doggy-style instead.

Idea 2 - Same as idea 1 but she gets her head stuck in a washing machine instead.

Idea 3 - Girl interviews for a job but the boss demands a blowjob in exchange for hiring her.

Idea 4 - Same as idea 3 but it's a female boss and she wants her ass licked.

You owe me $100.

I haven't seen anything about this site...is it a Lush clone or is Lush expanding into the international market please?

https://avataransk.ru/

It's a clone.

Thank you for the badge, Liz! Looks good nestled in amongst the others. A nice symmetry:

I'd best not enter any more comps for risk of breaking the aesthetics.

*wanders into the distance, grumbling about prime numbers*

You're welcome. It was your design, lol.

Got a nice collection going there! smile

Big congratulations to deviantsusie, Saucymh, tams_back_yay, and the rest of the runners up!

Hi all,

What is the criteria one has to meet to appear on this list? I logged on via my laptop this evening and saw my name appear on it. I am surely not ungrateful, but at the same time I'm curious given I've only released 2 stories within the last 31 days.

It's all of the highest scored stories for the past month sorted by number of votes.

A serious bummer about FuzzyBlue leaving, but at least she tends to come back, and even reposts some of her older stories. She'll be back (I hope).

Damn shame. FuzzyBlue was an exceptional author with some serious writing chops. I'm sad to see her go but hope she will return.

obviously, you're not smoking the good stuff. come to my lair and i shall remedy that.

I'm not smoking anything at the moment. I have the lung capacity of an elderly asthmatic gopher. sad

I'd love to see the story scores improved or changed for the better. They are not representative of how many people read the stories. I have done some analysis on this and will send Gav my findings. I think you can change scores to reads and make it automatic as well so that no-one has to push a button or push a wrong button.

This doesn't make any sense at all. Story scores aren't supposed to be representative of how many people read the stories. It's about quality, not popularity.

If no one has to "push a button" then whatever metric it is you're envisaging isn't actually a score, is it? Why would the site want to change "scores to reads" if there is already a 'views' metric on stories already?

It is possible, but only if you keep your socks on.

Twinings for Early Grey, but for proper tea, Yorkshire Tea, Nambarrie's or any other proper strong old fashioned stand yer spoon up in it brand!

Did you ever try that Yorkshire Tea Biscuit Brew?

Does have a hint of Custard Cream biscuits but I'm not a fan.

Not even a mention for Scottish Blend?

Never heard of it.

It's vaguely warm here and not quite raining. So I'll take that! *refills teapot*

You a Twining's girl? Or PG Tips? Tetley, Yorkshire Tea, Typhoo?!

I need to know!

Stormdog hasn't left, he just deactivated his account. When people delete their accounts their forum posts change to 'Guest' and their stories disappear.

Despite it being hotter than a welder's arse crack here today I am in dire need a cup of tea.

(Marks & Spencer's Gold tea FTW!)

Howdy Liz and Curvy mornining to both

Those are some amazing looking doughnuts! I could chomp my way through that whole box.

The USPS is a fucking joke.

I ordered an item from a store in New York two months ago to be shipped to my address here in the UK. This is the path it has taken so far according to the tracking information:

1 - Brooklyn, NY
2 - Jersey City, NJ
3 - Cincinnati, OH
4 - Erlanger, KY
5 - Melrose Park, IL

I make that circa 970 miles so far, all in the wrong direction! By the time it gets to me the carbon footprint will be astronomical.
