Echo this.

(I was a Senior Mod for Four Years. I'm a VERY good writer. I don't have an EP. AND I was on the EP panel for much of that time. There are NO "cliques" at Lush Stories when it comes to awards. Trust me...)

xx Steph

(I WISH there fucking was... *laughs!*)

You had an EP for Client...

Shit poems are the worst culprits for cheap RRs on Lush and there are loads of them - but then they're judged by people who don't necessarily have any idea what good poetry is. This is why they say it's "subjective".

Most of it is just teenage diary garbage. This kind of unmitigated tosh:

"I gave you my soul complete.
Lost within your kisses sweet"*

All me, me, me. Nothing that actually kicks you in the ribs.

Meter and rhyme is a tricky problem on here. Americans, scots, welsh, Aussies, scousers they all stretch and merge syllables in different ways. First time I read one of Mazza's poems I thought - this is close to being perfect but it just doesn't read right. I then read it in a Glaswegian accent and it was amazing.

[* I made this up on the spot]

Love you G

I usually send thank yous when people comment (although not when they just score. If it's a friend, I may mention it to them and thank them, but if not, I see scoring only as a more discreet thing, if that makes sense?)

I'm usually pretty good at thanking them in the first month or two, but after that I'm less so)

If I leave a comment, I don't expect the author to thank me, although it's nice if they do. I figure they've already spent hours writing, editing, proof reading and what not.

I also read for my own pleasure. I don't expect a "reward" for doing it, other than the enjoyment of reading...

Ok im sorry Maz but that's not fair even though you know I adore you and worship ur writing.

I am one of those bitches its called breast feeding I have 3 kids and fed them all, many women don't, it sucks the fat out of you and is best for the babies, boosts their immune systems triplicate and pops you right back into shape. I have 3 kids and you have privy to my pics as we are friends and I did always fall back into shape I don't think its fair to call us bitches because we do we just do and in my case it was thru breast feeding.

That's not to say though that being petite I don't have the stretch marks ect I do I think any man who does not see them as war trophies or such needs to know how it bloody feels like to give birth and go through labour.

Ok my boobs have seen better days but it kept my kids healthy infact they are rarely sick at all.

As for Dee ur blokes an arsehole obviously a caesarean situation is different I haven't had one but even so who is back to normal after 13 weeks in any way shape or form? Any Dr in the UK will tell you that a woman should wait a year before becoming pregnant again it takes that long for the body to recover, how do I know this, I fell pregnant again 5 months after I had my son and the drs urged me to abort I refused and I don't ever regret my decision but I do suffer for it tbh my periods are hell but I wouldn't be without her. WTF is ur man moaning about sorry if this is rude but of u haven't given birth then well stands to reason ur pretty tight in the nether regions and what man thinks about scars in those circumstances ?? ( im straight btw just pointing this out)

Seriously any man who cares about such fickle things is undeserving of you and the blessed child you gave him, personally id give him a scar he'd never forget for even mentioning mine but that's just me

Hold up - the "bitches" thing was said in jest!! However some women DO pop back into shape - I'm sure that in addition to a healthy lifestyle, it's a genetic thing... Other women don't heal quite as quickly and are sometimes not the same again after child. Also, after a c-section, it's not always easy or possible to breastfeed (and the whole BF thing is an entirely different thread)

I breastfed both of my kids too and it certainly did make a difference... However - I am not the same shape as I used to be, not by a long chalk... It affects us all in different ways... We all feel differently about it...

She never said anything about what her partner thought of it, so I don't know that it's fair to call him an arsehole? I think she was just wanting to know what guys in general felt about the scars after c-section?
(correct me if I'm wrong)

(and BTW - don't look to porn for a guideline on how your body "should" look!)

yah its not soo much stretch marks i didnt add too much weight due to complications, just the scaring, the after care cant do some things as i used too.. i hated the scar before and i hate it now, plus the whole no exercises part i didn't get so yes alot of issues afterwards but as i keep sayin its only been 13 weeks

As you can see, any guy worth his salt isn't going to care, but it's obviously really important how YOU feel...

Your body changes after childbirth (unless you're one of those bitches who just "pop" them out and spring back into shape - realistically though, most women don't)

I'd say that to some degree you are going to have to accept your "new" body (BTW DO try the coconut oil - it does make a huge difference and I am talking from experience here)...

As I see it, guys with a mature outlook aren't going to be concerned about a few stretch marks or scars (we do all have them, the things we feel self conscious about and honestly? I bet they seem much much worse to you than they would to anyone else)

Accept and love your new body, take joy in your wee baby - it's more about how you feel about yourself than how you actually look - most guys will tell you that when a woman is happy and confidant, it shines out of her... And THAT is a very attractive quality indeed!!

(also, it's worth getting in touch with other mums and new mums to talk about it - you'll see that they are all going through the same thing... That can really help)

I know its a horrible question, but im soooo pissed off, I hated by body before but now i hate it even more so with 2 previous c-sections neither by choice might i add, does not in anyway make me feel sexy or beautiful...

what are you guys thoughts on this, the afterwards scaring, does it really turn you off.... as you never see in porn these things got me thinking its a big no no

please be honest im soo torn up about this....

Thanks

Dee

I just wanted to add that c section scars can pale into insignificance compared to episiotomy scars...
I don't want to get too graphic, but babies sure can tear things up on the way out, whether it's "natural" or otherwise...

Regular application of good quality coconut oil can really help to diminish your scars and will also leave your skin in wonderful condition...

I'm quite self conscious about my stretch marks. One day, my youngest daughter was lying on the floor on her back, watching tv. Her belly was exposed and I couldn't resist giving her a tickle and blowing a raspberry on her tummy.
She was laughing and giggling and it was very funny...
Then she said it was her turn to do it to me...

Reluctantly, I lay down and exposed my belly and she put her hands on it and gave me a look of wonder.

"Mummy, your tummy feels AMAZING!" She said before going on to explain that it felt like pizza dough when you roll it out...
A strange compliment, but she said I was really lucky to have a squishy belly then suggested that maybe a rolling pin could flatten it out a bit...

Been doing sit ups ever since ha ha ha

I was actually 22 when i wrote this
. I guess there are no topless waitresses in your town or somehow you think the angels serve you. You made it apparent us girls don't exist. have fun and bye

Ginger, I hope you don't mind me saying, but I think you need to relax a wee bit - that's twice in this thread that I've seen you take something personally that wasn't directed at you.

I know it's been a wee bit heated, but this wasn't even about you at all!!

So much aggression in here for no reason.

I don't see how I fucked it up. If anything, she did. I tried and she ditched me numerous times, so rightfully so I act stand offish and let her know to forget about the whole thing. Her response was she was upset, the :/ face.

I'm not playing games, there's a certain etiquette involved when meeting new girls though.

On to the next one.

I'm new here, but I've read sex stories for years. I used to go to *edited by moderator* then that site began to suck and I started reading lush stories. They rock! Then I found the forum, man this place is awesome. I plan to frequent this relationship advice place for insight from a girls perspective and my fellow dudes, so please don't write me off right away with this first thread. I like it here smile thanks for the advice, and some of the unwarranted hate.

Glad you're enjoying the forums and Lush... (you should choose yourself an interesting AV and fill out your bio so that people can learn a bit more about you)

In fairness to the other posters, I didn't see any "hate" in the thread - people didn't sugarcoat their responses, but that's the nature of the forums. Would you rather they all agreed with you and gave bland responses that really weren't much help at all? What would be the point of that?

They called you out on some things, they poked a little fun but they gave you some damned good advice. These are people who have experience in such matters, which I do believe is what you were after...

Peace

I have a story that uses Italian in places. Two characters Italian. To post story I must provide translations.

Her friends eyes widen, "Hanno detto che ci davano un passaggio per Vancouver. Hanno mentito. Ci hanno abbandonato qui. E dopo ...", says speaking Italian to he friend. She looks at me. I obviously have no idea what she has just said except for Vancouver. "...... lasciate qui cazzo. Sapevo che non avremmo dovuto fidarci. Ed ora cosa facciamo?" she continues.

So how do I go about inserting the translation?

Firstly, it's not really encouraged - Lush is an English-speaking site and while a small word or phrase here and there can certainly enhance a story, my opinion is that putting in so much dialogue is off-putting and distracting for the reader (unless they happen to speak Italian)

The excerpt you've included seems kind of clunky to me.

My suggestion would be that you try something more along these lines:

Her friend's eyes widen as she mumbles quickly, in Italian, to her friend. The words flow so fast that the only word I make out is 'Vancouver'. She looks at me before continuing in her mother tongue. I can only observe and hope that she'll explain once she's done...

Anyway, given the piece you put in your post, that's what I think...

You really fucked it up. All you had to do was wait a week until she was free from her school obligations... All this "so I don't reply" bullshit doesn't make her think you're cool in her mind. It makes her think you are all butthurt. You're not even dating her yet and you're already acting like a lil bitch. Sounds like she was interested in you but your immature game playing fucked that up.

MF has it nailed... And NN got it spot on too!!

At least you can move on, learn and (hopefully) do it better next time...
That last post is such a huge block of text that it puts me off reading it...

I see you've not actually published anything on lush yet, I'd suggest you give that a try, if it's feedback you're looking for and the post on of yours here thread is probably a better forum for these kinds of poems...

Certainly the last one really needs to be formatted into reader friendly paragraphs (it's not really the sort of thing I'm looking to read on lush... Maybe you'd consider the sister site, storiesspace, for that kind of thing?)

Since this morning there's a few updates

I replied to her picture msg and was joking with her, and also complimented her, she received it well and flirty. Then I asked if she wanted to do anything tonight. She replied said she couldn't because she had to work. So I don't reply for a few hours and then I'm like soooo, I'll pick you up after your shift. She replies, asking what will we do? I told her since it's late we can just hangout over here again and do whatever she's comfortable with as long as we can chill n talk I'm happy. She replied, okay sounds good.

She's really confusing

Nooooo!! When you asked her if she wanted to hang out, she said that she couldn't - you should have said okay - to pick her up from work seems a bit needy to me... You are treading a very fine line here and (I think) are in serious danger of being friendzoned...

My advice would be to step back a bit, give her some space and see if she makes a move towards you...

Women (well, speaking from personal experience) do like a man who is attentive, but cross that line into overattentive and you are screwed - and I don't mean literally...

They definitely hang around for a while...I've had like six when I logged in after not logging in for two days...I do wish they had a date and time stamp on them, that would be useful.

If you click on your message folder and then online, you'll see that each message does indeed have a time stamp.

smile
I think that as long as they log in within two weeks, they will get the message as soon as they do...
Congratulations to three of my Lush friends!!

All worthy winners, but I am especially pleased to see Saga take the top spot!! Well done dear!! Nice job!!

It was a fun competition for sure and what a nightmare it must have been to judge!!!

Commiserations to those who didn't place - I guess it raises the stakes for the next one!!

You know, some of the old timers will remember this, but lush used to go down every day for about an hour (it was the only time of day I'd get anything done! Lol). Then there was that one time when it was down for 48 hours while they changed servers or something... Loads of people joined the blue site over that period, just so they could stay in touch with their pals!!

It's funny, I'm in touch with most of my closest lush buddies outwith this place now and I can keep in touch whether lush is up or not...

The site did seem a little wobbly today, but generally speaking, it's really stable, which is testament to the hard work that gav has put in and the investment in flashy new thingy nubbins that the site runs on...

You youngsters don't know you've got it good bwahaha ha!!
(I know, I sound like an old sod!)
My kids are home, it's a holiday weekend, and I made someone dear to me happy!!! That makes me happy!!
