I had already responded to Simmerdownchick when she asked the same thing 32 pages ago, and so did you btw.

It has been asked by others too, as you said. One of them is you again, but also Mazza (with a previous account) and Trinket. And yet others have agreed with those requests: Milik_the_Red and a person who has left since then. That's about it (according to Google).

DirtyMartini even offered a way to truly preview your signature. If you hadn't been too lazy to bother to look for a solution, you might have found it yourself.

If you already responded to this on 32 pages ago as you say (and I'm not doubting this), then why did you feel the need to respond yet again? I even dared to agree with you partly on what you suggested and you still aren't happy. I do know how to preview my signature which is why I said it was a hassle doing it that way (had you actually read what I wrote). I never denied that I have requested this before. In fact, I've made a few other requests in this thread. Clearly you have so much time on your hands you had to scroll back though this thread to prove how truly bored you really are. This continues to be brought up becasue it's something that many members have wanted for a long time now. A fact you clearly pointed out in your post. None of us don't find Gav's time precious or important... but rather we feel this is something that would benefit the site. After all, the thread is called "Which improvements or features would you like to see added?" and not "What would you like to waste Gav's time with this week?"

You don't like this suggestion... fine... now move on... or are you too lazy to bother someone else besides me? For all you know... Gav is working on this.

Nobody will mind if someone break the guidelines for a few seconds. It's pretty easy to correct/adjust one's signature if it has a mistake or doesn't stay within the guidelines. Many people just don't seem to give a shit about those guidelines (or don't know about them), otherwise they would make their signature conform, preview or not.

Personally I'd say a preview for forum signatures would only really add some value if it would alert or otherwise highlight when the signature is not conform those guidelines. Other than that I'd say it's mostly a waste of Gav's precious time. But then again I hardly change my signature, so that undoubtedly affects my bias.

It's still a hassle to do it the way we must do it now and since you chose to voice your opinion in this... this isn't the first time members have asked for this. We can preview our stories and with Gav's awesome abilities... I see no reason why he can't give us a preview for forum signatures as well. Just because you're too lazy to bother to change your forum signature doesn't mean that others are the same. And it's more than just staying within the guidelines... it's about making sure it looks a certain way. I was trying to pitch it in a positive way but you have to complain.

Simmer and I aren't the first to make such a request and until it happens... we probably won't be the last. I do value Gav's time and I disagree with you that doing this would be a waste... I feel it would an asset to the site like many of the other wonderful and sometimes necessary changes to Lush to make it better and better.

And maybe the added alert you mentioned would help. That decision is solely up to Gav and Nicola.

Oh! Great idea Randy!! I 'Like' that one, too

I would like to ... please have the ability to preview my forum signature before I hit post? I already have one person calling me a retard, lol! JK!

Thanks Gav, you're the BEST! I nominate you for the AWESOME badge :-)

Ignore the asshole who calls you names... they're just looking in a mirror. And having the ability to preview the forum signatures would be so helpful especially when you're trying to stay within the guidelines.

= Timestamp the various lists of activities in, for example, 'friends activity'. Timestamping is already done in one's own forum post list on their profile. On a related note, and I've not collected hard evidence, it sometimes seems as if the most recent posts are not those at the top of the list.... at least in the 'friends activity -> view your activity' path.

= When an individual is blocked, make them COMPLETELY invisible, that is, for example, in the forums, instead of showing the name and "This post has been hidden as you have blocked this member", just make that entry invisible.

= Unify the set of emoticons/smiles across forums, chat, and email.

= Implement a hazard warning banner if any form page has posts by Trinket. smile

There are some good suggestions here and I bolded the ones I wanted to see fully implemented. Though... I kinda like the warning banner for posts by Trinket (just teasing you girl... you know I love you. )

A post in the site improvements thread, made me realise, it would be nice if more credit were given, to those who are placed in the Top 10 in our competitions.

So, in future, all competitions will have a Top 10 listed, and each member making the list, will be automatically given a "Competition Top 10" badge.

Next week, I'll go through the results of all our previous competitions, and manually assign the badge to those who featured in the Top 10's.

Enjoy a restful weekend folks!

Thank you so much for this. I've only scored in the Top 10 so I do feel recognized for earning such an accomplishment. Honestly, I'm not sure how many times I've place Top 10 so it will be fun to see what my number ends up being.

I've entered my fair share of comps here and some other sites. While I've yet to do better than the Top 10, I have more than once read a story and said to myself, "Well fuck! That just kicked my writing ass." and be correct. Two awesome examples is Chuck's winning The Miracle of Christmas and the ever talented avrgblkgrl's Want. Both of these are amazing examples of well written amazing pieces of erotic literature. I was in these comps and in both cases, the moment I read their stories I knew I had read the winners. I even told the respective authors and I was right.

The big key is just to never give up. Even just making the Top 10 is an honor and not something to discount. You won't always agree with the judges pick, but you should trust they had their reasons. I always do.

she didn't miss the point. she does the same thing "her donald" does. any POV that differs from hers is nonsense or twaddle and fake news from leftists and fascists. her facts are the only ones that are right, anything else isn't worth her consideration. I do agree with you, it would be a pleasant surprise if he actually did some things that are good for this country, but so far, he is just taking credit for a lot of things that were already in place even before the election, such as reducing the cost of the new military jets, and the additional jobs several of the car companies have announced. he takes credit for anything good, and blames anything bad on "the mess" left by the previous administration. not to mention the fact that he continues to act like a petulant child whining about inconsequential things like the inaugural crowd size and how he lost the popular vote, instead of growing up and stop tweeting at 3am in the morning.

You make a valid point and have even backed that up with... dare I say... facts.
I'm so happy to see some names in the Top 3 and the Top 10 we don't see often enough. Congrats to you all!

I am so pleased you didn't take credit for this Amy, you are way to sensible to fall for this sort of nonsense. It def. hits the nail on the head though; it's the sort of twaddle that persuades me that my vote, cast for Donald Trump, was cast correctly and in the best interests of America and it's people. If I had to vote again tomorrow, I would vote the same way I did. I don't feel in the least bit 'conned'. Whoever concocted this mess didn't do the wonderful fact checking the Democrats supposedly rely on.

I wonder who the new Prime Minister of Australia will be? Any ideas? ... and they obviously have no idea that Goldman Sachs forbade... yes 'forbade' their partners and senior execs from contibuting any funds to the Trump Campaign and 'advised' their other staff to follow their directive. Clinton Campaign only was tolerated in the Bank that 'rules the world'. That directive was one of the reasons I chose to vote the way I did. Plus the DF regulation thing. You know why we have that regulation of course?; which President did away with the banking regulations allowing trading banks and their counterparts to effectively merge?.

Surely you can do better than this heap of nonsense Amy?

Oh .. whoever missed out the TPP, my #1 reason for voting for Donald Trump. Only he and Bernie Sanders were promising to repeal it.

Hayley, do you ever stop drinking the GOP Kook-Aide and think for yourself? You missed the point of Amy's post which was Trump is a con man who fooled his followers (like yourself) into thinking he gives a shit about anyone who isn't a multi-millionaire. Think about the pre-2008 days and what happened to the American economy. Here's a hint... it fucking collapsed and it took years to recover. As to the rest, it speaks for itself.

Personally, I'd love to see Pres. Trump actually do some good for this country, stay off Twitter, and make some changes that will help everyone, not just those who can "afford" to be his friend. Sadly, I've yet to see him do much besides be a bully.
I have one person blocked and while I've considered unblocking them from time to time, I have not and probably never will. Blocking this person has brought me peace and the ability to visit the forum without dealing with their bullshit and drama. Honestly, I do wish the block was a bit more like Facebook's where whomever you have blocked can't even see your profile, but I've accepted the block just the way it is. At least it keeps the bullshit off my timeline and that's huge becasue it prevents shit stirring.

I can't take credit for this, but it pretty much sums up the conjob Trump pulled. Unfortunately, his supporters refuse to take their blinders off. Sigh.

While I didn't vote for Trump (not like that's a big secret), I must agree this totally hits the nail on the head. Thank you for sharing Amy.

As Perry Mason used to say, "Irrelevant and immaterial". The national popular vote count has no place in our national election process. That process is set up per the Constitution and conducted on a state by state basis. The Constitution states just how many electoral college votes each state gets. The individual states get to decide how their electors are selected, and how they are required to vote, or not.

You can't say Trump is not the legitimate victor because he didn't win the popular vote. If the two campaigns were fighting over the popular vote, neither candidate would have ever set foot in New Hampshire, Vermont, Delaware or any of the other spots with low population. The election would have been about who won the most populous states, and that's where the campaign would have been fought out.

And that is why there's an Electoral College. Firstly to force someone to pay attention to the needs and desires of the smaller states. And secondly because without the compromise that set up the Electoral College, the smaller states would never have agreed to ratify the Constitution in the first place. Got it? No Electoral College -> no Constitution -> no United States of America.

Just becasue the Founding Fathers came up with the idea doesn't mean it's still a good one. Since you're quoting the Constitution... let's look at issues with the Constitution that our Founding Fathers thought was a good idea that later became a bad one... starting with SLAVERY. Slaves were counted as 3/5 of a person so the slave states had more representatives. I've met many short people, but I've never met anyone I would consider 3/5 of a person. Also, would you deny the need for the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments?

Then there is the 19th Amendment that finally granted women the right to vote. The Founding Fathers didn't want women to have that right or it would have been in the Constitution from day one.

And let's not forget the the need for the 22nd Amendment. I'm sure our Founding Fathers never thought anyone would take advantage of that little loop hole... but FDR sure did.

Yes... Trump won because he campaigned in the states where he knew he had the best chance to get the necessary Electoral College votes to win. Thus, he proved why we need to get rid of the Electoral College. Had the results gone the other way... I highly doubt those of you who supported him would be acting any differently. You'd be demanding the end of the Electoral College because Clinton hadn't won the popular vote.

How many times did you say "Go Team!" last year? More times than I can remember. So, when I asked you to mark the knucklehead tardy for hiding in my room... I need you to have my back & not question me. Who cares how he got into my room... what matters is that you have my back. Had the situation been reversed... I would have had your back without question. Yes, I was upset & I shouldn't have yelled. For that I do apologize for. However, you burned me & it will not be forgotten.
Since psychological thrillers are included, here's my list:

Psycho (the original... the last remake was just god-awful!!!)
Fatal Attraction
Halloween
A Nightmare on Elm Street (again, the original)
Frankenstein (any version)
Dracula
Alien
Aliens
Freaks
I was so hoping this was an internet hoax... but sadly it wasn't. So, to honor this great actor... here is a scene from the movie I most associate Bill Paxton with.

RIP Chet.

Updated 22 Feb 2017.

I will amend the standard competition rules, but in the interim, I wanted to make our policy very clear on competitions.

We want competition entries to be solo efforts, as much as possible. That's common sense. They are competitions, after all.

We're intestested in seeing what you have written, warts 'n' all. It's a good way for us to see how far authors have come on, and makes it fairer to all concerned, particularly newer members, who haven't yet established a support network.

With that in mind, and following a lot of discussion amongst our membership and moderation team, we've decided that:

- Proofreading and light editing of competition entries, by friends, is fine.

- Heavy editing and co-writing of competition stories, is disallowed.

If you have any questions which haven't already been raised in the following posts, please let me know.

Feedback is always welcome.

I'm glad I caught this update and I'm quoting it because I think it's important to see the changes made to what Nicola had originally said. Many of us were worried about the "proofreading and light editing" of our comp entries which I won't lie... I've had done on many of my entries by one or two different people (they both catch different typos and other stupid mistakes) and the occasional reader and angel who sends me a PM with a note about a mistake they caught.

Thank you for updating this Nicola. I think you helped put many worried minds at ease... including mine.

Good question. We have actually got a sweepstake going on in the office on how long he will remain President. The closest one to his term office ending takes the pot. I am banking on two and half years.

That's awesome!!! How can I get in on that pool? Actually, we need one to start at my work. Thanks for the great idea.

Get a room, you two. sheesh.

Ewww!!! That's just gross Sprite!
Our school does a "Golden Apple" award for a teacher who has gone above and beyond... so with that in mind how about a "Golden Buzzy" or a "Golden Lushie"... I have no images because I'm not that creative... but it's a thought.

And your right Sprite... Buz is awesome. He is one of the few people who PMs me just to say hi and see how I'm doing.
