It's not "required" for first time sex, but definitely something I'd need to be part of a long term relationship.
I have my tickle trunk of toys and costumes and wigs, and if you're doing any kind of role play, dirty-talk is going to have to factor in to some degree.
It might just be my own experiences, but I've found many men to be reluctant with dirty talk. It seems to be either something one enjoys, or just avoids completely.
There have been situations, where I am doing all the talking, and while the guy I am with acts enthused and excited by everything I am saying, he is more action-oriented in response instead of verbal. It's not the end of the world, but it can be frustrating when you want to develop a bit of interplay. I do find it makes sex so much hotter, and much more playful.
