If you mean the Username you log in as (User name under Settings > Personal Details), that can be changed. Under Settings > Personal Details, there is a massage saying "Want to change? contact us" with a link. You can use that link to request the change, and an admin can do it for you. I haven't done it myself, but I know someone who has.

@WiseGinger, in my case it involves a covert PayPal account. My situation and a quirky philosophical standard lead my to my solution.
But you are correct (I suppose, with the caveat that simplyjohn brought to light) - buying a prepaid card (reloadable, so excess doesn't go to waste and can be reloaded for next year, etc) may be the right way to go. But it's possible that you could run into problems with the payment, like PayPal's "pay with credit card" mechanism rejecting the payment, whether it explicitly tells you it's because of geolocation or not. If so, then you would be stuck with a card you couldn't use for Lush payments, but you could just use that card for groceries or anything else, depending on how detailed your husband's management of the finances is.
So, try the prepaid card route if you're okay with an alternate way to use the card if PayPal's Lush payment won't be accepted, and report back. And if you're okay with trying again with another card brand or something else, assuming you don't run out of cash.

Ha - interesting question, if you mean actual physical paper or coin money. If you mean "cash" app or something, not sure that could be de-coupled from a bank account, which presumably the husband would see as well.
FYI, I was in the same boat, not wanting the wife to happen upon an eyebrow-raising charge. And I've heard from other Lush free members the same concern about hiding charges from others. Long, boring story as to how I kept my payment discreet, but, yeah, for the future, others of us would be interested in alternate payment methods too.
