Dark Tranquillity

It actually got warm enough to swim here today!
Sigh. It actually got warm enough to...well...take my gloves off for a few minutes without my fingers turning blue and falling off. Warmer winter but still winter without a doubt.
Good evening. Congratulations USA people. Your women's hockey team smoked us 5-0. Which is a pretty good sign your ladies are heading for the center podium spot given we are the two top teams in the women's game.

The game itself was kind of a snooze. but Bad Bunny killed it.
Back in the day when I still lived with football fans (Dad, one brother), they often felt our Grey Cup was actually a better game of football (even given the number of times it got played in fog, snow, etc.). Super Bowl was more for the theatrics.

I use Firefox like 80% of the time. Recently, I logged into the website, and everything that should be red is blue, and none of the links work. On Chrome, it's fine.
anyone else finding FF misbehaving?
Never had issues with FF on here and I switched to it from Chrome some time ago as part of moving my personal system from Windows to Linux. StoriesSpace used to use a blue version of the Lush style but they switched it to more of a teal a while ago.
Good day all!! Man, both Bear and Lion are gone.
Anyhow, it's Super Bowl Sunday plus the Olympics keep rolling along over in Milan (lovely city, I highly recommend it). My money is on ... um, who's playing again?? Something about aquatic birds of prey, I think. I'll bet on them.
Bertha is fired up with some nice Jamaican Blue Mountain. There's Irish Breakfast and Yorkshire teas on offer. Kettle is hot for your hot chocolate or other fine teas. And hey, it's a bar. There's plenty of booze to go around.

Lush is a patchwork of code and coders and different languages even. It simply has to be
And I really don't understand why it was built that way. I could build this place on something like Xenforo with a few choice add-ons. Would not even cost that much and things like this are coded in already, admins and owners just need to configure them. And it's all, even the add-ons, PHP with some JS. Maybe because I am IT, not software, but my attitude for a long time has been that if you can build what you want/need on a platform, why code it from scratch? I even worked out a business plan for rebuilding SS using this platform (when it looked like the new owners might not take it on, but they eventually did).
(That said, at work we are coding up a new system from a lower level. Maybe not from scratch but using frameworks and such, not a full platform).

Rain, rain, rain and more rain. 😳
The saying here about rain is that at least you don't have to shovel it to get out of your driveway. 😁 My drive needs a pass but it's cold enough to freeze the proverbial body parts of a brass monkey. And we don't need to get out until Monday when, sadly, we have a family funeral to attend. My middle brother (I am the eldest) lost his wife a week ago.
Whoa, quiet in here. Did everyone go off to join the Bear on his vacay? Or are off prepping for Super Bowl parties?
I'll clean up Bertha and get some dark roast Costa Rican beans ground and brewing. For teas, how about some Yorkshire Gold and Assam Tarajulie. Hot chocolate is also available, with or without marshmallows. And I raided the goodie stash at Inspirations over on StoriesSpace.

This "female Robinson Crusoe with fantasy elements" thing really has legs now. My attempt to yank out the back story exposition and create "chapters" telling that part of the story is now up to two, and probably headed for three, chapters. I have not even touched the main story in a while. There's still a decision to be made about the fantasy element. What is it? I have two options, both involving her meeting and befriending strange beings. I am keeping things SFW for now. There's mention of her having sex with a man she met, but nothing graphic. Just "and then they made love" type things.
