Having one of my off days. Basically kind of fatigued and my head feels like it's to burst like those poor guys whose heads explode in Scanners. Getting better but that might just be my lunch break kicking in. I would like to blame not sleeping well but that might be a symptom rather than a root cause.

I am kind of flailing around, writing but the stories keep stalling. Mostly it's my "woman on an island" theme that keeps coming up and then goes nowhere. Wish I could get that out of my head for now.

Back to work is okay today. My grumpy face is because a company that I have been doing business with for 15 or something like that years got breached because some dipshit got taken in by a phish. Not a small company either, one of this planet's biggest cruise lines. Surely they can afford good mail filters and employee security training.

Good morning. Having a run of lovely weather here. Sunny, low twenties (Celsius). Cloud and chance of showers forecast for the coming weekend but we will need them by then. Lovely as this weather is, it is also a dry spell.

Writing is happening but, as usual, I am flailing. Starting things and then not sure where they go and that sort of thing.

I will second what wxt55uk said but also wonder about that word "expound". Without having seen your stories, I wonder if you're "telling rather than showing" or have "infodumps". So things like paragraphs of back story that break up a scene or lengthy descriptions of people or scenes. Those problematic in any kind of story. Introduce details as needed rather in a long "infodumps". If there's a key piece of backstory for a character, use a flashback rather than a lengthy description. Or a dialogue where they can reveal the information to both another character and the audience.

Just some more thoughts.

IIRC, this happens if someone spams you and the mods delete the spammer and their content before you notice it. The spam messages are gone but the badge does not clear. The mods or devs can reset it, I think.

That's just my memory though. A mod can confirm. Perhaps open a support ticket.

Love butter tarts. Grey, wet day here today. Didn't accomplish much but we got Viet-Thai takeout for lunch so there's that, at least. Fixed the cranks on a couple of my casement windows but that's not a big deal. It's more work sourcing the hardware given the age of our windows.

Too f-ing quiet. Here's something to raise the decibel level. The Hu are a Mongol rock band mixing traditional instruments and singing with Western rock and metal. Here, Jonny Hawkins of the alt-rock band Nothing More adds English vocals (the band members only sing in Mongol so the do these English collaborations with Western musicians from time to time) to the latest single from their upcoming album Hun.

And from their last album, "Bii Biyelgee" is a lively rocker based around a traditional Mongol dance. No English here but with energetic music like this, who cares if you don't know the lyrics.

Maybe not a hearty dinner but definitely more than an apple (had a big lunch).
