Time to deal with the length question. My new story clocks in at 7000 words (roughly). Conventional wisdom is that is too long. But there's no obvious break point. And there's good stuff in the back half that I know will get ignored if it is in a "part two". What to do. Might just post as is and cross my fingers.

She's good. I first found her through Erinyes, an all-female metal supergroup (one of two that I know of) and then listened to her bands as well. She's started two herself, one of which is still in action, and is also the lead singer of another. Power metal tends to be her thing.

ReVamp, first album by the band of the same name started by Dutch singer Floor Jansen after After Forever, the band that launched her career, folded.

Of the four books he talks about, I know the LeGuin and the King. Don't really even know the other two authors. I should give LeGuin's a try. She's arguably one of the best writers of the latter half of the 20th century and probably one of the top ten or so in sf and fantasy.

Not personally. I've never been that into it. My mother and her brother were both interested in genealogy, though, and now my little brother is the family genealogist so I benefit from their work.

Yes. This is actually my second account even though it now has the same name as my first. (big mistake, by the way, but I was depressed).

I'm still using NightCafe and it has a real problem with anything involving doors or windows. I've been trying to get a picture of a woman looking down from her upstairs bedroom to a man on the ground. It kept putting her on the ground with him, then her hair color was wrong, then it wasn't a second floor room. Same problem, clear details in the prompt aren't followed.

They have so many different models, you probably need to just try a different one. There's also a setting that controls how closely it follows the prompt. Maybe crank that up. Just thinking back to when I have used Nightcafe.
