Desert, I think. I prefer dry to humid and enjoyed my hiking trip in the SW USA many years ago.

Find a small local business or two looking for an investor. I have enough money saved so don't need this million and can take some risks with it. And who knows? Maybe I will pick a winner.

I have a few AI-generated ones but have been trying to move away from using them. After all, in many cases they are pilfering elements from legitimate artists' work. For some stories, though, it is hard to find something suitable so generating one myself with an AI becomes the best way.

Not that I can think of. Even my wife, I didn't really think of seducing her until things started getting hot and heavy. She probably seduced me when it comes right down to it.

Various things but mostly just valuing the site and making a contribution. Priority in the queue helped, too, of course since I was an active writer at the time.

Congrats to you and your nephew's family. I have been a great uncle for a while. My wife's niece (I gained a niece and a nephew when I got married) is married with a kid. On my side, my brother's eldest is married but no kids yet.

I gave up. The story is getting written but with a different set of character relationships.

Meanwhile, I'm contemplating a big change to my ongoing major work (12,000+ words and going, this is probably headed for novella territory) that I think will resolve some struggles I am having with it. I have been kind of hung on a character and situation that dates to an early conception of the story. That conception no longer sits well with what I am doing with the story now, so I'm trying something different. We shall see.
