Gas. Me trying to build and light a fire could probably be the subject of a Monty Python sketch.ππ
Do you ever sleep under the stars (i.e. not even a tent)?

Good Morning all,
I have to admit those look delicious, it reminds me that I should show off my baking skills, and well, coffee, that's always good lol.
I have been back for about a month after being away for a while. It feels good to be back, and in some ways, it feels like I never left. Navigating around the forums still poses a challenge lol
I hope that you all have an Awesome day π
Hello and welcome back. Nice to see you returning.
And good day (too late for good morning) everyone. Dark, dreary, and damp in my world today. Survived a full day corporate town hall yesterday. Even got to chat with the big bosses (the executive chair, whose family owns the company, and the CEO). Fun, sort of.
Writing remains slow to on hold. I am entertaining revisiting a favourite story from my first time here. I don't have a copy anymore but it was a favourite of mine so I have the characters and basic plot arc stuck in a corner of my brain. Just wondering if I write the same basic thing again or try for something new, maybe a new twist or something.

Never re-read old stories
Sometimes it's necessary. Like when I am writing a new story about one of the protagonists and can't actually remember the name of her ex who was mentioned, but didn't appear, in the earlier story (this is in reference to doing another Paris story).π³ In fact, I generally reread a story once or twice if I am doing any kind of followup. I am also prone to rereading my old stories just to see if they still hold up and if there are any characters or other elements meriting reuse.
Anything I've been vaccinated for or have had that's a one-timer and that's about it. Beyond that, I seem to be capable of getting just about anything (though fortunately, the Big C has kept its distance so far).
Or, less seriously, country music. No matter how much of it I hear, it never quite "clicks" with me so maybe I'm immune to it. π
What style/genre of music is your go to?

HI. I've UPLOADED A STORY BUT i CANNOT FIGURE HOW TO SUBMIT FOR REVIW. WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO ASSIST ME?
If you've got everything setup in the editor (title, cover image, one-liner, body, tags), hit Save to save it all, then hit Preview to see how it will look. At the bottom of the Preview you should have Continue Editing on the left (if you find things that need work) and Publish on the right (to submit).
I fared rather well last night. Even managed to doze off after waking up at five (standard time, 6 EDT) with the result that I got up at my usual time (6:30 or so standard). Just did some yard work (leaves, trimming a bush that we give a haircut to every Fall) so resting for a bit.

I left for a while too and lost some friends. Now I think I won't do that again.
My departure from here ended up being brief. It's more the stories lost than the friends since I came back quickly to mostly the same crowd. But over my time here (over a decade now) I have seen people coming and going (and coming back in cases like Kat) so I can see where leaving for a longer spell and then coming back would have that effect. That said, it's kind of the norm for sites like this. Another site that I have been on for twenty years and have left for long periods feels like a totally different place now. Even though there's some old faces still around, a lot more have vanished and new ones have appeared. It's the nature of an online community, I think.
Good morning. I think I survived the time change. We'll see how tomorrow goes. That's sometimes worse than the first day.
No tea yet. I'll put on pots of Organic Assam and English Breakfast. Kettle is hot and there's other options in the tea box on the bar.
Once I submit, I tend to move on to something else. Don't usually look at it again unless I have an "aha" moment about it and actually do intend to recall it for further editing. And I would generally first look at my offline draft in LibreOffice Writer to see if I really want to go there.
Nice little piece in the NYT morning newsletter by Melissa Kirsch this morning. The opening is quite evocative.
"The hour between dog and wolf, or βlβheure entre chien et loup,β if you prefer, is, I think youβll agree, the dreamiest way to refer to twilight."
Which put me in mind of a song written by my favourite singer, here singing it with her band ReVamp in 2014,
Her "Wolf & Dog" metaphor is a different one, to be fair, comparing the Floor that enjoys the comfort of her domestic life (the dog) to the Floor who loves being out there in the "wild" world performing (the wolf) and how both are a part of her (she even has related tats nowadays).
Good morning, hope all are well. Too bad about the Jays last night but they've got one more chance. More of a trick than a treat, though.
Tea, Earl Grey, Hot.

Message from the haunted house. I am 67 and retired, living on a limited income in London. To pay a lot of money here would be difficult. At Literotica all submissions are free and I have published a few novellas of 60.000 words with no problems. So I'll go back there.
Fair enough. I say go for what works for you. I find their interface clunky as hell myself but land there from time to time as a reader.
The moaning around here makes a haunted house seem positively quiet by comparison. As the Shyexhibitionist says, the site needs money to operate so they give perks to paying members to help get that money. Pretty standard deal on a lot of sites. I've happily paid for years and finally went platinum to save myself the effort of renewing every year.

I get jealous when I see some of them publishing work every three days while I have to wait and wait and wait.
I could publish every 3 days too based on the approval time for my last story (again, I'm platinum). It's nothing about being a mod (love how you insinuate something scandalous is happening) and everything about being a gold or platinum member. And if they did get priority in the queue, so what? They are unpaid so why not give them something in return for the effort they put in. They are all excellent writers with a good history on the site so it's not like crap is getting a free pass or something.

Erotica is more fun than house chores.
You can combine the two. Look how many "Help me, I'm stuck in the washer" videos there are. π
Yeah, um, anyhow, good morning. It's Friday, Halloween, and game 6 of the World Series. Take any two.
Earl Grey and a bear claw.
