Congratulations to the three winners, very well deserved! Well done also to rest of the top ten - it's an honour to be considered alongside you all. On a personal kinky note, it was especially nice to have not one but four stories featuring messy food sex in the top ten (if we count pig faces as food). More, please!

Also, for those still reading through the entries, once you've read the top ten, I highly recommend the stories by two newcomers to the competitions, briacon429 and LuceDevlin. I was impressed by both and hope they enter more in the future.
Oh yes, I also wrote an entry. It's completely vanilla (flavoured). It may appeal to fans of frills, cake, and intentionally bad jokes: Pretty
Definitely deserved. Until I started writing again last year, I tried the two positive comments on my stories I got from Rachel way back in 2010/11 as the closest I'd ever get to an RR. They're still two of my favourite stories for that reason. Her stories are the main reason I kept coming back to LushStories even when I wasn't writing. And her "rule" that we all had to write a tentacle story was one of the main reasons I put so much effort into my horror series, which has improved my writing a huge amount.

So thanks, Rachel, you are a huge inspiration!
Congratulations, Phil, and the other two at the top, plus the rest of the top ten. I obviously have a fair bit of catching up to do with my reading as I haven't even got to the winner yet. I'm glad my favourite of those I did read was in that top 10 list. Well done everyone who took part - even if I'd had time to write, I had absolutely no ideas for this theme.
Hi everyone, and welcome, Ensorceled! I read your Flash, truly excellent!

I'll have a beer for the bus ride home. Hopefully no fights break out on it today, that's always a bit inconvenient.

Oh, and about five minutes after I was here in Friday, Curvy verified my Fight Club inspired story and very kindly gave it an RR, which was unexpected!

I'm going on holiday at the end of the week, yay!

Hope everyone is well.
I can confirm from recent experience both sides of the fence that if all you're doing is updating inter-story links and series names then it does not require mod intervention - it doesn't even go in the queue.
Morning all, or maybe evening - it's just part midnight here, not sure what greeting to use. It's been a while.

I can confirm that that green thing is not a feeldoe, unless it was dropped in a vat of radioactive water and turned into the Green Goblin of sex toys. That is a possibility.

I've been taught how to do this recently, so [bh] all round, but extra ones for those undergoing bizarre and painful tests.

Anyway, it's dry season now - properly, I think, we thought it had arrived a could of weeks ago then bang, another week of rain. Probably won't see rain for six months now.

I've been busy. Singers other things, I reworked a story I wrote when I was twenty into a new and hopefully better one. I got a couple of friends to check it in and come up with a title, so if you want some hot gay sex, look out for a Fight Club themed story.

Anyway, I should probably go to bed, or at least have some supper. Nutella toast, I think. Night all. Since it's still Friday for most of you, I'll leave you with this delightful interpretation of a Lady Gaga song:

I direct electrons into esoteric mazes so that numerologists can divine gibberish to tell our overlords, who then use this knowledge to either pour gold into blackholes or purchase herds of white elephants and expect people to thank them for it.

When no one is looking, I write smut on my phone.

Oh SBB, you are a brave one to cross a polar bear. Actually, since James and Carl are not here right now, it might be fun to play a lil trick. Maybe hide the Jameson's, so they come back to 0 Jameson's. One will blame the other and we can all watch a great between a lion and a polar bear.

Just as long as I don't have to drink the stuff, I haven't been able to drink whiskey since an unfortunate incident when I was eighteen. I think I'm pretty safe from polar bears here - they'd melt!

Fish and chips (and crocodile) this evening, this is the view:

Good to see everyone, I haven't been around for awhile - and a new face or 2! Hi Chica and SBB, good to meet you!

Oh hi! Sorry, I missed that before in my rush to cover Violet in chocolate. Lovely to meet you! I don't come in here to often though as I use my phone most of the time. The forums are a bit hard to read on a phone. And I'm slow, usually by the time i think of a reply to something, is three pages back.

Anyway, JamesLlewellyn days he can't come in at the moment, but that he recommends TheWingedInsect's story I mentioned above. BDSM is definitely his thing, so probably a better indicator than mine.

He also said to give everyone that Jameson's thing he's always banging on about and not to save any for him. Honest.
Quote by VioletVixen
I recall you saying BDSM not being your thing before. *Munches on chocolate-covered wafers courtesy of our mutual friend* Wonder where I heard it?

If you cover yourself in melted chocolate and caramel, you can make almost anything my thing. On the other hand checks number of stories by sprite that he's read you're right, I'm probably in denial. Pain, though, that's definitely not my thing, and the story has pain but I still enjoyed it.

Anyway, sorry for not reading anyone's comp entries yet, I have a cracked rib so trying to avoid laughing too much until it's better.
Hi All!

I hope all is well with all.

I'm rather busy now, but thought I'd pop in to promote a story by TheWingedInsect, a friend of Violet, Emma and myself, since she gave me permission. It's only her second and landed right in the middle of an avalanche of stories, so could get missed. I'm sure she'd appreciate feedback:

https://www.lushstories.com/stories/bdsm/-a-day-in-the-life-of-a-witch-part-1.aspx

Don't worry, just because I'm promoting it doesn't mean it's horror - it's a lovely story about two loving witches. BDSM is not usually my thing, but it has a nice feel to it, and then gets delightfully surreal.
Thank you so much, everyone! I'm rather stunned. When I decided to write a story about black metal and fill it with gay sex, I really wasn't expecting much in the way of views, let alone awards.

Special thank you to those of you who supported me through this, knowing that others were enjoying it really pushed me to make it a full story the whole way through. I think my writing has improved a huge amount in the process, and I've made some great friends here as a direct consequence.
Morning all, I'll have a sneaky champagne breakfast on my way to work to celebrate the final part of my story getting verified and awarded an RR! (Thanks Curvy!)

And thanks James for the earlier congratulations. If anyone else funds they get stuck or aren't sure if what they've written is any good, I can definitely recommend sharing it a friend to get their thoughts, it really helped.
Evening all! Thought I'd pop in for a quick night cap. It looks like I've got alot to catch up on. Congratulations on getting the Omnium, Kat!

I've been trying to get my insane queer horror finished. I had a slight crisis of confidence, so got a friend to read a draft to see if it made sense to anyone but me, and now I'm very, very happy with it. I think it's a very satisfying end, so I submitted it an hour ago. It probably won't show up for a while, I'm sure the wonderful story verifiers are snowed under as usual and it's almost 8000 words... But anyway, I've put the link in my signature so I don't forget is later.

Now, I'd better go to bed after the last few later nights of editting... Goodnight all!

Here, have some comfort food. I've got caramelly chocolate and wafer cookies - my favorites. Thanks for taking the time to read Blood Rite.

looks at first story in your signature and promptly disappears to the bathroom
Given that they passed my story that involved slaughtering over 100 Nazis, I'd say they are not Nazis. As Volya said, the overall improvement in quality of writing here over other sites is what brings and keeps me here, as a reader and writer.

Also, Nazi Germany is not "Ancient History" it is Modern History, since it existed after the Middle Ages, and there are unfortunately a number of people who still share and propagate some of its key tenets. Many of them use "snowflake" to insult those who take offence at their offensive views. Actual snowflakes were are major factor in the downfall of the Third Reich, when they froze to death invading Russia, so it's a pretty dumb insult.

SBB ... your story scared the sh*t out of me and had me curled up in fetal position clutching my teddy bear. That said, hurry up and get the next out!!! You are brilliant!!!

Aww, thanks and sorry Kimmi! I am working on the next part now, hoping to finish sometime next month, but you know how my time is - mostly dependent on when small children decide they're going to go to bed...
A couple of weeks ago I published part 3, which had also been awarded a Recommended Read - if you have not read part 2, I recommend not looking at the tags for this one (or scrolling to the obligatory soundtrack section of this post) as it might spoil the surprise at the end of that one.

Obligatory soundtrack recommendation (WARNING: Spoilers)

First, the title is obvious, but that guitar tone... so here is Sweet Child O' Mine anyway
The working title for this chapter was actually Tentacles of Whorror by the one man band Leviathan, but I've since learnt that he is/was an abusive partner, so I won't post a link. Instead, here's some Xasthur, a similar style: To Violate The Oblivious

Finally, completely different musically, but fitting the theme of the first half, here are four songs about the importance of physically confronting the far right (albeit without the intervention of tentacled demons):
If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next by the Manic Street Preachers (it reached no. 1 in the UK charts)
The Only Good Fascist Is A Very Dead Fascist by Propaghandi
Bash The Fash by Oi Polloi
And for the Spanish speakers Alerta Antifascista by Sin Dios
Morning/evening all. Thought I would briefly pop in to say hi before I stop squandering the opportunity offered by a Love Poetry competition to finish my series. I'll have a look through the entries at some point soon, there's just no way I'm submitting one.

Bit late now it's no longer Valentine's Day anywhere, I suppose, but I do have a love story recommendation though, which was in turn recommended to me by Jen, because as well as reading some absolute filth and contributing my own Satanic smut, I am actually here to find stories my partner might like. Here it is, by Burquette, who sadly seems to be inactive these days:
A Message In Flowers

I actually have a story in that category myself. Don't read it though, I wrote it when I was 19 and haven't revised it since, so it is certainly terrible and cringeworthy.

As part of my brain palate cleansing after finishing the previous chapter of my series, I did edit a couple of other old stories though. I think they're quite fun, partly because a certain writer here [s]whom I worship[/s] for whom I have enormous respect made complimentary comments on them when I first posted them 10 years ago. If anyone fancies some filthy fairytales, here are two:
Little Red-Cap
Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Anyway, I'd better go to bed - I stayed up late last night putting up shelves so the cat can escape the dog in the lounge, now I'm knackered.

Wasn't really my jam though. That and I was panicked I'd lose my grip and end up on world's funniest x-rays.

Puts sex toy safety officer hat on Please everyone, make sure anything you are putting in there has a flared base - regardless of the parts that are round the front of the insertee! The anus has done serious vacuum properties. No one should have the above fear (unless that's your kink of course, it takes all sorts...)

But in answer to the original question, in the words of Betty Marsden in the role of Lady Counterblast, "many times, many, many times." There are other, thinner, less phallic toys providing prostate stimulation available these days though, if the visual resemblance to a penis and/or the stretching sensation is a problem for you. I recommend the njoy range.
Morning all! I'll have a mocha laced with rum please, it's raining here. Yes, I know Canadians probably think 26°C means it's time to strip down to your underwear, but here it counts as jumper weather.

*whistles nonchalantly, hoping people notice the RR next to the latest chapter in his series*

Another hot cocoa to go please, load the marshmallows. And Kimmi needs a hug after reading StarBelly's story ... which is brilliant but scared the bajeebees outta me... gonna read Michelle's shortly.

Sorry Kimmi, here you go

Did you know Sea Monkeys were perfected and marketed by a White Supremacist?

I did not know that, thank you for enlightening us. I wonder if I can work that factoid into chapter 4...
Evening all, thought I'd pop in for a nightcap before bed, since after two days off I have to go to work again in the morning, boo!

Turns out I got overenthusiastic making the bigoted characters in my story hateful, and stepped over a line, so there's a slight delay in chapter 3 getting verified, oops. My fault, I should have asked before submitting. Never mind.

Quote by CuriousAnnie
Omg you have no idea James, close to 40 in Sydney I mean seriously hot. Home in the air con is best, God knows how my northern friend is StarbelliedBoy is finding it.

Actually, we currently have a monsoonal trough going over and have had several days of heavy rain, so it's 26 or 27, very comfortable here - not got the aircon on, just fans and the windows open. Not raining now though so might get sticky tomorrow. And of course, the washing never bloody dries.

March was good, a decent turnout and no cops, so no trouble. I hope everyone else had or is about to have a good day!
Evening/morning all. Hugs to all those who need them.

I thought I'd pop in for a drink, as I just submitted part three of my series (link in signature won't work until it's been verified). Yay! I can start reading again! I wasn't too happy with this chapter until tonight, but I think now I am. If you haven't read part 2 and intend to, don't look at the tags for this one, it might give the surprise away. This one should appeal to those who thought Inglourious Basterds lacked nudity and monster sex.

Now I'd better go to bed, as I'll be taking the kids to the Invasion Day march tomorrow, weather permitting. Australia Day is not entirely uncontroversial here, so in honour of those for whom the day is not such a celebration, here is Southeast Desert Metal, a band from an Aboriginal community not far from Alice Springs:
I have vague memories of hearing the original electro pop version of Blue by EIFFEL 65 in the late 90s/early 2000s, possibly in Munich, but I think it works much better as a symphonic death metal song by this Italian band, Fleshgod Apocalypse:

Question to the assembled throng (note: that's 'throng' not 'thong' though any confused responses will be accepted) Is there a badge for top ten finishers? If not, it might be a nice companion to the well-deserved RR's.

I can answer that, because I just got it: it's the "Competition Top 10 Badge". I think the competition badge might also say Top Ten, I seem to remember seeing that on other's profiles, but mine just says contestant for now. Looks cool, though.

If anyone missed any of the stories in the top ten, go read them, they were all awesome. Can't believe I slipped in there.
Well unholy shit, bend me over the altar and fuck me, Satan! I'm honoured to be listed alongside all those in the top ten, and congratulations to the three winners, they were indeed outstanding stories. I read all the top ten and most of the others, so it must have been hard judging. Well done, everyone!
Evening (or whatever is appropriate for where you are) all. I hope you're feeling better Rachel. Since you're somewhere cold (which for me now means anywhere cooler than 25°C) have a hot chocolate laced with rum. There's one here called Kraken, that seemed like it might suit you.

Quote by CuriousAnnie
Afternoon all, a beer for me and whatever Rachel is having. Warm day here so I have enjoyed the sun in what has been so far a surprisingly wet summer - La Niña rather than El Niño - but that does mean limited bushfires.

Cool, you're getting the benefit of that too! We've been having some wonderful lightning storms the past month. Queensland stole all our rain for a cyclone just after Christmas, but it's coming back now. Amazing sunset this evening, psychedelic colours surrounded by lightning. The kids were out at a birthday party so I got to watch it whilst working on chapter 3 of Lo! Baphomet! Almost 5000 words and still no sex, but a satisfyingly high Nazi body count. Lots of editing to do once I'm finished.

I found a package left in the carport this morning, must have been the postie when we were out yesterday. Books I ordered late November. Anyway, they were wrapped in some rather special paper, here's a sample that made me laugh:

Damn, I have to go back to work on Monday, and we've run out of port, so I'll have some from the bar, thanks.
Yes! Absolutely! Kimmi is awesome! She's been so welcoming and encouraging since I came back to active participation here. Lush wouldn't be the same without her.
