I get it, but I think it's somewhat inappropriate. I hate the PM's, but if a friend posts something on my wall that I don't care for, I just delete it. No, it's not cool from strangers, but I do like to see what my friends are into, and show them what I am. I always follow up though to see if the interest was shared, and make sure they know I won't be offended if they delete any images.
Lush is an adult site, but it's fundamentally an erotic fiction site, and not a porn site. Many people come here to escape the world of porn, or at least avoid it. I think it's important to respect that, but on the other side, I got a message the other day from somebody saying that all porn is offensive to them, and how dare I let anybody post it on my wall. They scored story low for that, too while acknowledging it was good... Some people are jerks.
By the way, for the person to whom this sounds like it could be you, it wasn't. It was the person who obviously knows it, because they were extremely rude and contacted me completely out of the blue. They are not somebody with whom I was discussing the topic.
