My micro of precisely 100 words was rejected as too long with the suggestion that I review the submission rules.

Hate to say it, but I'm pretty close to done here.

Sorry about that. Not everyone was aware of the discrepancy on the counter, so just assumed it was showing the correct value.

It's been raised with the tech guys. Word counters are notoriously difficult to standardise, but this one seems to be counting spaces as well.

Hopefully it will be sorted soon.

Edit: I think the phantom white space that appears at the end of stories is related, so hopefully two birds, one stone.

........

Can't get a blank line so here goes.

Thanks Jen, I know there's a lot of back stage stuff going on. Lots of little gremlins being rounded up and sorted out.

I think it's just a difference in perspective.

Usually those who want a quick pick up for some "self relief" tend to have much shorter bios because they're just looking to meet someone is active, online and in the mood.

The ones who view it as being part of a community tend to have longer ones.

I remember the old chat sites where sticking to a handle and making an avatar was a sign you wanted to put down roots.

Still we all started with something and I'm sure some will fill out more as they find their place here.

Just my orange pips in this conversation  always it's just an opinion and others are free to disagree.

Goodness me you've been busy bees this week submitting tales. Will have to sharpen my pencil and get cracking.

I have a few I need to convert from crude outline to proper finished tale. Here's hoping I steal some time next week and crank 'em out.

Kimmi my dear always remember there's no depths a bitter jealous hack won't sink to if it allows them to redirect the lash from their own back to anothers.

I say blow a raspberry at them, raise a glass and celebrate with those who love you and your work.

As Mama Ru says," if they don't pay your bills ,pay them bitches no mind."

*Snaps fingers*

Course Mama also says, "I can't hear the haters I'm too busy listening to the people that love me."

So head up, give 'em your fiercest bad bitch face and have more fun then those dried up bitches can ever dream of.

We all know you're damn talented, my pencil fan girls when she sees your new work. Stay Fierce darling and listen to the whistles and applause of your fan base.

We love ya girl, scores don't mean a toot to us.

I sucked off my mechanic to get an extra fast brake change. I needed the car to go to work in the morning and it needed to be done immediately. I offered to suck him off if he'd do it right away. He did, and I got on my knees.

He only charged me for the parts too, a very contented mechanic.

Stumbles in to the bar, scratching my head and yawning loudly. Staggering behind the bar, sleepy fingers flick along the shelves checking everything in where it should be. Wanders over to Big Bertha, pops the lid open to check the state of the coffee machine.

Twists the filter out and empties Big Bertha, keeping the sludge for Carl and the caffeine junkies. Grunts when there are raisins floating in the sludge.

Refills with some Italian Medium roast beans, and lots of mountain fresh water.

Places a soft kiss on BB, and polishes her nozzle for being a good girl.

Spends a few moments standing by the coffee machine, inhaling the coffee scented steam before blinking rapidly and stretching.

Cleans out the big kettle , finding more raisins bobbing inside it and refills it, setting it to boil.

Puts the tub of mini mallows where I can see it and flicks the sign to IN.

Pours a mug of the molasses thick sludge and stays silent while slurping down the pungent liquid.

Good morning my dears, Gods I'm sleepy today. Must have been the way I slept or it could be the slow drop in light levels. This childe of Summer always misses those golden dawns, and the touch of sunlight on my desk.

Still seasons are meant to change, and that means it's Apple TIme!!! Soon will be off to get a big box of fresh apples and a bottle or two of cider too. Yum.

Now it seems some kind of depraved flicking fetish has broken out so I'm going to clamp down on that.

Dips fingers in the remains of the sludge and paints a symbol on the bar. It takes several dips in the sludge to complete the pattern. It looks like a compass with 4 major phases of the moon, and has four simple dragonflies. One at each of the phases.

By Fire, Earth and Water, by Sun, Moon and Stars.  I charge this rune, to keep the peace of this place. May any flicked or thrown fruit, candies or bar snacks be turned to dragonflies the moment they leave the hand or bar top. May the ones who break this suffer my Curse, and have maddeningly itchy skin but only where they can't easily scratch till the sun has risen and set. May this Rune last until the Solstice, or I release the Curse.

Scratches my head and gets another cup of coffee from the machine.

Gawd I needed to do that.

Yes Miss Boom I can see you already preparing to flick things at me.

For now I'm going to drink some coffee and try to wake up some more.

Celebrate with me! I'm having Jack Daniels straight on ice.

The Atlanta Braves just clenched the Eastern Division Championship of the National League. That makes 4 years in a row! And the Braves hold the major league record for most Division titles all time at 21.

Go Braves! Cheers y'all!

Nothing like  a happy sports fan for bringing exuberant energy to a room.

Now could you be a darling and tickle any raisin flickers you spot.

What the flick?!?!?  Motherflicker!!! What the flick was stuck to my barstool and now my tender bottom? (I skipped the panties today biggrin

Beeeeeeeaaaarrrrrrrr! Can't you establish a non-flicking zone for us non-flickers? Just a lil spot at the end of the bar maybe? Now, I gotta pick sticky squished raisins outta my ...

Now, don't get me wrong... this naughty voyeur wants to watch the flicking  smile ... just not participate :)

Carry on...

Kimmie, I feel your pain. Sadly, a raisin ban interferes with my essential freedoms. I suggest raisin flicking be mandated.

However, in recognition of your great sacrifice of your butt, after having sat on our poor fallen raisinous comrade, I've coated all future flicked raisins with a special molecular anti-assular impulse drive, so that no raisin will ever again sully your tender, paddle-tested rump.

Our test drives of the new self-driving raisins--dubbed the neoraisin--have been encouraging. Those nasty rumors about neoraisins seeking the darkest, deepest human crevices for reproduction of their species for eventual world domination is fake news.

Coffee would be swell.

Ahem...do I need to change those raisins to dragonflies???

Bloody things are getting in the coffee grinder.

Just taking a moment to send you all some love, some hugs and a reminder that the world is a brighter place for you being in it.

I'm sure you've all got the newsletter email but still thought I'd put this here.

Anna unfortunately passed away 3 weeks ago from COVID.

I wanted to put a place we could let those those loved her could leave their messages. It can be sent on to her blog later.

I didn't know Anna very well but she always struck me as a smart, funny, free spirited woman. She lived life on her own terms, loved fiercely,  and gave superb advice to those who asked her.

The Goddess called Her daughter home beyond the Veil, far to soon for those who knew her. May the crossing be swift and painless. May you be with those you loved and who loved you, under Her eye in an endless summer.  Her Will in all things,  Most Blessed Be.

Are we able to buy them as a gift? I know some of us can't afford a membership, and others would like to buy them one.

Skips into the bar, punching the air and dancing across the floor. Boots knocking bottles and debris out of the way, Skirt twirling in the air as she crosses the floor.
Bouncing behind the bar, swift fingers checking everything is properly in its place, moving things around on autopilot until it's all in order. Slides across to Big Bertha, pops the lid open to check the state of the coffee machine.
Twists the filter out and empties Big Bertha, keeping the sludge for Carl and the caffeine junkies. Refills with some Italian Medium roast beans, and lots of mountain fresh water.
Places a soft kiss on BB, and polishes her nozzle for being a good girl.
Cleans out the big kettle and refills it, setting it to boil.

Good morning my lovelies, what a lovely day it is too.

Have you scoundrels nicked my raisons again...you bloody have.

Maybe I should change them to dragonflies and let them zoom around here happily.

Elyse, my dear, there's nothing wrong with having JaneFreeze, just seeing you lights up the room.

So be extra nice to yourself today and don't listen to nasty people.

Boom, why are there raisons in the tea kettle? Do I need to start confiscating dried fruit again?

Sigh.

Kistin, I should have known you're be making money out of all this mischief. Though I still don't know how you lured HH to come all the way over here, she's a very busy woman. I have a feeling you let her see the menu for Stall 3.

I know I'd go a long way to get that kind of service.

Speaking of Carl where is ole Fuzzy? I miss his tunes, and his laughter and his pictures of the barn kitties.

Damn, will just have to drink this molasses sludge myself, and help James get through the Jameson.

Be a shameful thing for it to spoil in the bottle.

James, Why do I always get a demented notion to say that in a slightly breathy Bond Girl kinda of way.

Oh James, the sink in the mens is blocked again, be a good lad and deal with it would you?

Doesn't quite have the same ring to it as.

Oh James, I'm cold wrap your strong arms around me.

Well either way I hope you're having a great time moving house, better you than me, and that everything is going marvellously well.

On my news front those Adonis like devs have split the default chat room up, and opened a picture room so I can actually hear people for a change. It's almost enough to make me consider giving them a kiss, but I won't I'll give a smooch to Sprite and Boom to pass on. Course I might give those two more than just a smooch, but perhaps not in the main bar. A lady likes to have some mystery after all.

Not me realizing that the stories I really want to write wouldn't fit in on here because they're totally nonsexual.

Nor is it me realizing I probably can't post them on the other side either because I wouldn't know what category to put them into.

Elyse my love, write and worry about the category later. No point getting too focused on it. This is an erotica site it's perfectly possible to be erotic and not have any sex in it. So never give up.

Oooh nice tick you have too.  Well done.

Quote by Sensei

I forget which comedienne said it, but she introduced me to the term "gold star lesbian," which means that she has never been with a man.

That's a term that some don't like, it suggests there's some kind of purity scale and finding your identity later in life means you're somehow a lesser member of the queer community.

Good heavens all this flicking.

Some of us were hoping to put those in our breakfast porridge. Quit nicking my dried fruit.

Sheesh.

Giggles and blows a 💋

Not me remembering just how traumatic seeing Jane (or her characters) hurt is. Nor is it me realizing that thinking about her being hurt is just as bad.

...and no, nothing has happened to her. It just really sunk in that I don't handle it well even if it's one of her characters.

Elyse my dear, why not crawl into Grace's lap and let her hold you close for a bit.

Would do wonders for your sense of calm.

Just read a book entitled 'How to Prevent Old Age'  Chapter one was all a out guns. Chapter two was about poisons. Chapter three was about walking into the sea. Chapter four suggested tall buildings. Chapter eighteen (at last) suggested locking yourself in a room with an insatiable lady. But where do you find the these days---but I'm going to enjoy searching.

*takes a small black leather bound  address book out of a pocket and slides out the mounted pencil.*

Mmmm an insatiable lady??

Can I get some kind of hints. We looking for brunettes, redheads, blondes, bondage bunnies, nymphos, exhibitionists, pony girls, anal queens, size queens?

I mean help a girl out a little.

Oh wait..right...I'm the good Witch not supposed to know anything about that..

*Slips the pencil back in the address book and makes them both vanish into thin air.*

Golly I need to update this little script of mine.

Well my darlings, how are you all?

Having far too much fun I hope.

I've finally gone through the rapids of work and am taking a moment before I get my pencil out to do some writing.

You're all special people, so do holler if you need a drink, or a hug.

The drinks go on account, but the hugs are free.

Good morning my loves. Extra hugs for all who need them.  Be back in a mo to get the bar set up.

Evening all.

I hear some of us are having a really hard time of it lately. So I'm going to ask you to do something a little different. Turn to the person beside you , tell then they're a wonderful human being and give them a bug hug. We all need to be reminded of that and a big hugs costs nothing.

Hopefully the rest of this week will be less mental so I can see what you lot are up to.

James thank you for the guide, it's a vital thing and a shame the devs couldn't give us one.

Lucky, my arms are always open anytime you need a cuddle or a place to cry about the world. You're a special woman and I'm here for you.

Kimmi, I'm so envious of you. A golden paddle from HH herself.  Golly and an invite to be her pro partner. You go girl!

I read this thread for inspiration when things get tough. Love all the honest sharing and support.

Mom didn't know me yesterday for the first time. I told her about her daughter Kimberly anyway. Then, I found a bench in the park and had a very long cry.

Life is a journey, isn't it? A wise man told me we are all here to learn and our struggles prepare us for what comes next. Sometimes a successful day is just getting out of bed. Keep supporting one another as compassion is more contagious than the coronavirus. smile

I can't imagine how painful that is. I work with families all the time who go through this with loved ones who have a diagnosis of dementia. You're incredibly strong and brave. Keep doing what you're doing girlie, your mum is so lucky to have you. ❤

Its been a process. Thank you! She's in late stage Alzheimers now. Her Dr said all have significantly declined due to Covid isolation, lockdowns. Her facility has let us see her consistently though. My twin and I grieved the loss of our Mom already and will grieve again once her body joins her Spirit.

Oh Kimmi.

I'm so sorry for all that you're going through,  I know it can be so hard to keep going when you just can't see the road ahead.

Just remember you're a wonderful human being, your Lush family love you and for all the times you've been there for us in our dark times we'd all do anything we can do help you.

For now you have my sympathies,  my love and my prayers. It isn't nearly enough but I send it willingly to give you strength to fight on.

For more than words can say, I'm with you in thought and spirit.

Now that's the bar all set for the day. Be kind and stay safe.

Good morning my darlings, I hope you're all doing well.

Kimmi, your bottom must be the lovely glowing light I can see from here. Looks like HH delivered all that could have been asked of her.

Jeff, writing a novel is scary stuff, best of luck with it. We will all be rooting you on, whenever you need it.

Susie, I don't know all the lush settings but mobiles love to play cute. Mine used to think it was being helpful by resizing pages and making images lower quality.

In the end I found some possibly useful things.

1. Check what display size you're running,  sometimes the silly things switches screen resolution to save power.

2 . Check you're not using Data Saver mode. That tries to seed up page loads by compressing the data which plays havoc with formatting and images.

3. Try using Desktop Mode,  I'm always shocked at the difference that makes to a page sometimes.

4.  Check it in  another browser.
It shouldn't make the slightest difference but sometimes it does. Especially if the site is written using non standard code to optimise load on a specific browser.

I'm certainly  not referring to a well known bank that only tested on IE and everything else gets wobbly responses.

5. Profit.

Hope that helps a little, the images load fine for me but I have a big screen so that might be changing things.

Afternoon folks, just popping by to say hello. My phone is being a twit today so hopefully I don't bounce before this loads..

Toodles

If you're still having trouble send me the piece and I can edit it a little for you. Getting the first one accepted is the hardest part after that it gets a lot easier.

Happy birthday you beautiful woman. May you have a wonderful birthday week, have far too much fun.

May all your desires be granted and sated.

The soft click clack of heels heralds her arrival. Pushing her sunglasses onto the top of her head she looks around slowly and winces at the state of the place.
She stamps her foot calls out in a strange language, and gives a long high pitched whistle. Two small humanoid creatures with bark skin, sap brown eyes and ivy strands for hair seem to rise from the floor and hover before her.

She points around the room and makes a series of orders in a strange language. In seconds the strange creatures are racing around the room, gathering up rubbish and putting it into neat piles.

Striding through the activity like this is perfectly normal she walks behind the bar and checks everything is as it should be.
Fortunately Curvy had been looking after BB and the boiler didn't take long to get running again.

The thick pungent sludge was removed from the boiler and put to one side for the real caffeine addicts. A bag of Italian roasted beans is opened and poured into the huge hopper ready to make fresh coffee.

Making a complicated gesture in the air and chanting in a low melodic ritual , a small rain cloud forms above the boiler and starts to rain heavily into it. Tiny lightning bolts flash within it and the heavy downpour fills the tank in a few minutes.

While the tank is being filled she cleans the big kettle and sets it open and ready to boil.

Another short command and the cloud drifts over to the massive kettle and rains into that too.
When the kettle is full, the lid snaps closed as though by an invisible hand.

Smoke pours from the carved wooden sign on the bar. The sign from The Witch is OUT to IN.

A wave her hand makes a tray of buttermilk fruit scones appear, and a big plate of generous biscuit cake squares.
Looking around she puts her sunglasses on the bar and runs her fingers through her hair flicking it out.

Good morning my drunken animals, I hope life is going well for you all.

Big squishy hugs for you all.

You have a senior moderator willing to help you understand things from the mod perspective.

I know how hurtful it can be when something you've poured your heart into gets rejected. I know how hard I found it to get over that first hurdle and get my first story published.

I'd like to work with you to help you to get your work through the process, so we can see your vision through your words. So if you'd like an editor I'd really like to work with you. If you don't, then I still wish you great success in your efforts.

At the moment our home isn't as we'd ideally like it to be but that doesn't mean that new voices aren't needed or very welcome to join us. After all we all started our creative journey and struggled our way to where we are now.

So would you do me the honour of sending me your work so I can help you.

I've done migrations in the past and moving the data across is often the easy bit.

Finding ways to integrate your old system into the new one can eat through time like a caterpillar in a veg patch.

I know it can feel like a thankless job, working so hard on things most people don't see or even notice but without them nothing else works properly. I've seen the smartest minds on the project working through a complex problem while my team tried to triage the incoming reports so the experts don't get overwhelmed.

You all have my compassion and understanding in this firestorm.

Our previous home wasn't built over night, and it took time to find its feet too.

I know you're doing six impossible things before breakfast every day, working through a seemingly endless task sheet.

It's a stressful job, rarely gets the credit it deserves and I'm sure there's a few dents in desks or walls when things don't go well.

So thank you, for doing the unglamorous work that gives us the playground we get to play in, the places to publish our stories or poems, and ways to make new friends. Without the platform you provide it simply would be possible to have this.

THANK YOU ADMINS!!!!

Despite the system changing almost by hour, having problems logging in or being able to access the mod portals.

It's a wonder the mods didn't throw their hands up and give up. Golly they did the opposite.

With systems acting up, overly emotional users, and their own personal frustrations they were always professional, helpful, kind and themselves. Like people arriving at a crisis site, they rolled up their sleeves, put on their smiles and got stuck in. Seeing them in action is a beautiful thing, they stayed positive under severe pressure and weren't afraid to have a laugh too.

Systems may have a wobble but the mods stayed steady.

So to each and every one of you, the chat guardians, the forum watchdogs, and the story verifiers.

THANK YOU!!!!!!

Sometimes a situation can be a pain in the ass, but if you have the right people in the trench with you, it's never a situation you can't overcome.

So here's this Lushies little thank you to you all for what you have done in the past, are doing now and will do in the future.

Puts two fingers in her mouth and gives a long high pitched whistle. A dozen squirrels run into the room, through the front door, the back door, down the chimney. Where did they all come from.
A single snap of her fingers sends them racing all round the room. Bottles are rolled out the back door, neatly put in rows. Trash is picked up and carried out the back door. Slowly the floor becomes visible and a few snoring bar flies are sprawled on the floor.

A second short whistle results in the tinkling sound of a cascade of bottles being thrown into a recycle bin.
The waste bin is being filled with a torrent of trash.

In a few moments everything is cleaned up, the bins slam shut and the squirrels return to the bar.
Excitedly chirping and looking at the bartender, who reaches into her smock and scatters handfuls of nuts to the squeaking squirrels. Who gather up every crumb and retreat to the top of the bins to soak up the sun and nibble on their feast.

Mornin' Bitches! Da Witch is in Da House!!!

The morning is going well so far, and the caffeine is kicking in.
I hope you're all safe, and happy.

Finishing up my paperwork so I can have some fun time during the week.

With schools reopening, and life revving up some of us are under a lot of pressure right now.
So be kind to each other, be patient, and remember to do things that make you feel joy.

The Equinox reminds us that now is the time of harvest, when nature provides so much of her bounty.
With the full moon and the Equinox so close together it's a great time to take stock of your life.
Where you are in your life, where you'd like to be, and how you plan to get there.

Our Western Tower leads the Circle and had this little message for us.

"Many things are impossible until someone has a dream, they believe in that dream so strongly they convince others it's a goal worth striving for.
So one by one they poured their energies into the task, and soon the impossible became possible, and finally commonplace.

From cars, to air planes, to real time video communication worldwide, all these things were once impossible.

So feed your dreams, draw strength and courage from them. Together we can remake the world into a place none of us alone could dream of, but together is more than possible.
May your dreams be strong and vibrant, may they linger in your memory when you wake. For perhaps nothing is impossible we only believe it is."

Afternoon my darlings, my work contract comes up for renewal in a couple of weeks and my boss has me filling in all kinds of tedious paperwork for it. Here's hoping I get it done before the end of the week, it's making my head hurt coming up with twenty different ways of saying the same thing.

Sigh. Well gotta run, be good to each other.

Full Moon on Monday, and the Equinox yesterday. Who knows maybe the spirits will give me a whole new career and get me converted to being on the payroll. Sillier things have happened.

Catch you all later.
