One of my favourite artists is VanGogh. He's was also an Aries (like me). I'm a woman ... so my name here confuzzzes many people. I don't like to be predictable.

I usually use Van which is also a short name for the city where I live.
A photo that is inspiring me about my new apartment .... flowers in pots outside my kitchen window!

Sick and Tired .... Tired of the ongoing saga that never fucking ends.

You'd think after 18 YEARS, you would have the maturity to move on .... being remarried and a new life .... why are you always dragging me through shit to make your point? What is your point??

This is the LAST time I am going to deal with this.

And it's the LAST time for a few other things to .... I am reclaiming my life, on my terms.

So, to you, and you, and you .... go enjoy yourselves together!

grrrrrrrrrrr .... fucking dumbfucks

EDIT .... I'm crying because I'm moving .... the boxes are NEVER ending! lol
Anyone else excited about the True Detective, Season 2 starting June 21st?

The gritty, well-written, well-acted story is certainly expected after Season 1.

Colin Farrell
Vince Vaughn
Rachel McAdams

The plot

We've been teased with a reverse Russian doll of plot synopses for season two, each one getting gradually longer and more detailed. The first one offered by Pizzolatto early on was that the season would be about "hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system."

The official line which has since been released states that season two centres on "three police officers and a career criminal, who must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder".

That murder is of 52-year-old Ben Caspar, the corrupt manager of a fictional Californian city. His body is found on a lonely stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway, on the eve of a potentially groundbreaking transportation deal that could permanently alter freeway traffic patterns in the city. Which might not sound like a big deal, but if you've ever lived in LA, you will know it is a huge deal.

The stars

Three law enforcement officials from three different cities are tasked with solving the murder: they are police detective Ray Velcoro (Colin Farrell), sheriff Ani Bezzerides (Rachel McAdams), and highway patrol officer Paul Woodrugh (Taylor Kitsch).

Velcoro is a detective who's damaged by years of turmoil and grappling with corruption on at least two levels – his allegiances are torn between "his masters in a corrupt police department, and the mobster who owns him". Some reports have also suggested that Velcoro's chequered past involves being suspended for sexually exploiting a young woman he pulled over for speeding, but this was likely an error since this backstory seems to fit more with Kitsch's role.

Bezzerides, a role whose casting reportedly went down to the wire between McAdams and Elisabeth Moss, is a tough Ventura County sheriff whose dark past has driven her to gambling and alcohol addiction. Her no-nonsense, uncompromising ethics "put her at odds with others and the system she serves", so it's easy to see how she'll be butting heads with Farrell's more morally compromised cop.

Oh boy .... sounds like it will be as riveting as Season 1!

Saying that I don't care what anyone thinks is not being flippant or dismissive, you are going to judge me no matter what I do. We need to step away and look at our actions before passing judgement on everyone else. If you've never done anything you should be ashamed of, I think that's amazing. I absolutely cannot say that, and I am capable of owning my mistakes, and feeling shame.

We don't know why a person is seeking love and affection outside their marriage/relationship. There are many people who cheat because they can, and because they like it, but not everyone is the same. Not everything is black and white, and I will deal with God when my times comes.

Peace.

p.s. (using one of my favorite things V and I always do when we tack on something to our emails) Why do I stay? Because my daughter is a happy and well adjusted kid, who is being raised in a happy home. I will not be selfish and leave my husband because I need affection.

Before all hell breaks loose here, please let me comment that I am not judgmental about these types of things. Somewhere in the mess of these forum threads, way back, there was a thread about "have you had relations or fuck a married person" or something like that. I answered that I had been a mistress for over 3 years. Did I regret it? AFTER the fact I did. Mostly because I had the thinking at the time, I'm single and it's all his problem if he wants to carry on a relationship with someone other than his wife. What I learned was, after 4 years of therapy: I fell in love with a man I could never have, the real losers in the whole thing was his wife and myself, and I wasted over 3 years of my life with someone that I lost (time and love). Time is so precious. If you've ever had a harrowing life-or-death situation, you know this is a fact.

The other huge point, spelled out fully to me, via the wife was this: physical fucking is one thing, and it can be forgiven but the intimacy - the talks, the wishes, the dreams, the connection that is deep and like an umbilical cord, changes the loyalty and respect in the "marriage" (for lack of a better word). Nothing is ever the same. She told me that many times, during the normal family stuff, she'd look at Winston and notice that his mind had gone somewhere else. She wondered where he went, and that hurt her greatly.

so now that I have provided my own history on this subject , the original posters question was:

QUESTION: If I'm having a rich sexual fantasy in writing with someone, and I keep that from my partner, am I cheating? There's no physical sex; there's no interest from either side in meeting IRL; each of us is wearing a persona that may be 99% real, or 1% real (including a misrepresentation of gender). Am I cheating?

It appears that many people believe that if your spouse or significant other does not know about the relationship, the intimacy between the two people, it is cheating.

Many people seeking relationships outside of their marriage are missing something in their marriage (obviously). There's always justification for seeking and finding what one is missing.

Lush is a blessing for many. Sometimes it helps clarifies what's missing or helps one figure out how to make things better .... and the route is entirely subjective.

So ... have at it. Absolutely no judgment on my part. It matters zero to me. I just wanted to clarify my initial post.

Best of luck,

You stated: I'm having a rich sexual fantasy in writing with someone, and I keep that from my partner. This says it all.

Any time you are giving of yourself in any sexual way, physically, mentally, emotionally, to anyone other than your partner you are cheating. Instead of sharing this rich sexual fantasy life with your partner, you are giving it to someone else. The fact that you are keeping secrets from your partner indicates you know you are doing something you shouldn't be, and feel the need to hide it from them. There should be no secrets between an intimate couple.

If you want to know if you are really cheating or not, tell your partner what you have been up to, and ask them if they feel cheated on. The opinions of strangers doesn't matter. What matters is how your actions make your partner feel.

This!

For those that state "I don't care what anyone thinks anymore, I do what I want" should really re-think their "real life" relationships and their online relationships. I would never get involved with anyone that has that type of mentality. It's more than selfish, it's damaging to all of the other people they are involved with ... because let me assure you, more than the cheater will feel the hurt .... eventually.

good luck to you all that think it's just online ... especially those that take it away from Lush .... chat on the phone, , , .... that is real life. I feel badly for your spouse/significant other.

today it is this one by e.e. cummings

“I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart)I am never without it (anywhere
I go you go,my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing,my darling)
I fear no fate (for you are my fate,my sweet)I want no world (for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)”

This has always been my favourite poem .... and I always envisioned my Beloved and I sharing this. *sighs* ... maybe one day .... one day ....

Great thread idea!!

Incorporating more just veggie meals is a great idea! I'm not a huge meat eater, as I tend to eat meat maybe two times a week .... I'll make note of my recipes and share!

Van
a thread for a way to eat chicken skin .... chicken skin??

I've been rather nauseous of lately .... so today, I finally had some chicken and rice! hahaha

I would have preferred a yummy hamburger with lots of fixings and a green salad!!

Yes, this exactly. Some of the best finds here on Lush are tucked away in odd little corners (like Pervy, whom I am quoting above, a really talented writer), with 10 or 15 votes. Finding the unexpected is kind of the point of the site. Don't tailor it to suit the majority. Fuck the majority. Tailor it to be a place that welcomes the wild and unexpected tale, the desire you didn't even know you had until you read about it here. People come here to escape the mainstream, not be pushed into it.

Amen!!!

I know everyone wants to be the best .... most votes/scores ... most views ... most, most, most ... but I really revel in the well-written, hit my fancy, unadorned treasures that I have found here on Lush.

Though my opinion means zero to anyone ... I will take those exceptional stories that have been here long (or short) time, rarely read/scored, over the mainstream ANY day!!

Van, do you mean that each part of series should work, so that it wouldn't matter whether the reader read the other parts or not?

But in general each chapter should be chunky enough to engage the reader. An interminable number of chapters is a turn off IMO.

Yes, Danielle ... that was my point by bringing up Buz's college sex series .... you (or anyone) can read one and it's a great story in and of itself. Go to another one, and there is enough description about Jennifer or Mary Beth in the individual stories to know who the character is ... little details evolve and are shared throughout the series to make it a whole, but again, the "chapters" are substantial on its own without the cry "Read the prior story so you understand the characters".

I had someone once share with me that he was reading my Secretary and the Student series out of order. Each of the stories worked as a stand alone, yet the whole story began to emerge. That was quite a wonderful compliment from a fellow author.

Cheers!

sometimes the best name comes from a twist in the story line.

example: Closer (2004)

Natalie Portman's character is an American stripper in London who goes for a walk with Jude Law's character (Dan) in a historical park (well, there's a little more back story to it than that, but you get the drift) .... where she tell's Dan her name is Alice Ayres.

Ultimately, in the end, Alice returns to New York. Passing through the immigration checkpoint on her way back into the United States, it is revealed through a shot of her passport that her real name is indeed Jane Rachel Jones and that she had lied about her name for the duration of her four-year relationship with Dan.

Old fashioned names are making a comeback. But there are still generational names ... like a Jennifer is likely born from the mid-70's to mid-90's, and a Brenda or Linda is likely born in the 50's, and Britney and Courtney and Kylie (and any variation of spellings imaginable) are like mid-80's to early 2000's.

Good luck .... it's kinda like naming your baby!
