A little intimidated to be sticking my head back in here but this seems to be where all the great writers hang out. A question for the denizens......how many views over what period of time would constitute a successful story in your mind? I am trying to figure out whether my stories are doing well, having staying power, and whether I should continue to write or am I just getting lost in the mass of literature that is being produced here at Lush.

Yes, those that followed Game of Thrones will have this series to collectively talk about, like we reminisce about shows like Gilligan's Island or Cheers or Dallas or... the list is near endless.
I never signed the petition to redo season 8, nor will I. It's silly and futile. It may be said in future days, months, or years to come, that a scruffy scribe couldn't honor his commitment to stay ahead with is book writing, of the showrunner's and HBO's need for material to produce the series in a timely fashion. Hence, the last two seasons were created and written by two guys that may or may not be justifiably crucified for how GoT ended. However, there is a lesson in this for all of us wannabe writers.
Properly develop your plot and character arcs, and then commit to them. Do it right, don't rush it. And if need be, bounce your ideas off of someone you trust to ensure you're unsanitized efforts are not being filtered by the creative licence bubble of your own making. In other words, give it your best effort and on occasion, ask for help or another set or two of eyes and opinions.
As I said, I've not signed the petition, but I do think we should revive the Rumpleforeskin Medieval Players troupe and tour the world with our corrected version of the last two seasons, and maybe beyond, for Game of Thrones. I call dibs on The Hound. He had the best lines. Famous last words - "Fucking Die!"
