Yes, I will be köffeeing, Phil, and thanks for the cuppa.

Congrats to all the EP winners, both Rumpers and non.

Dusting off an old horror story to send out. I sold it once to a mag who folded shortly thereafter, and never sent it out again. I wrote it while my Dad was undergoing a triple bpass and I was spending a lot of time in hospital waiting rooms - it's easily the bloodiest thing I've ever written. Pretty relentless too.

Enjoy your Tuesday everyone.
I liked the episode quite a bit.

I am not really over-analyzing any of it, and while I agree they seem to be greatly rushing the story line here at the end, they are giving us the equivalent of 4 feature length movies to tie everything up (as well as a regular hour long episode right before the battle). So it's hard to complain that they are are hurrying - it's 6 hours of story.

I agree with you Ping, that the Winter they've been building up to for 8 years should have lasted longer than one episode.

IT was pretty easy to see the Dany=Mad Queen coming, but what I loved about this episode is that they really did the terror she caused justice. I was shocked that Dany lit up the place after the bells had sounded. It was a long, harrowing sequence where she burns Kings Landing, and you see the heartbreak close up and personal (when Arya tries to help the mother and child and then sees them dead was hard to watch).

I enjoyed the way they ended the Cersei/Jamie storyline. I have read complaints that Cersei is too passive, but what is she gonna do? She's played all her cards. She has nothing left. And the only thing that made her seem human and compassionate was her love for Jamie. It was fitting they died in each other's arms.

So yeah, they are fucking up the landing a little, but the show has been so good for so long I am willing to cut them a little slack. That said, tying ALL OF THIS up with just one final episode seems nearly impossible.
Sorry, I'm no sunshine girl. It's just me, Verbal.

Thanks for the set-up, Carl.

Not much to say, still trying to wake up, as is my youngest daughter, who is clearly gonna be late for school if she doesn't hustle.

Köffee please!

Rumple, you're an amazing host. The monster story is in my never-ending queue and I quite look forward to it. There really aren't that many horror stories on Lush. To answer your question, there are at least 4 RRs in that category. https://www.lushstories.com/incest.aspx/11?fr=True&type=recommended ... and I hope to achieve something like that with the nutso stuff I'm writing right now. lol Also, you'll get your Veteran badge at 10 years. I'm actually surprised... I thought you'd been here longer than me?!

There's an EP in that Monster category too. smile

As for me, I was looking for old school Penthouse Letters type stories, and found Lush. I lurked here for a little bit before I joined, but not for long. I realized pretty quickly I wanted to try writing erotica.

One last cup of coffee. Then off to Denver with LJ!
Broken air conditioning. I have two teenage daughters incapable of living without hot water.

Memory or fantasy?
I'd join Adagio for a cup of coffee. We could sit and talk about weird but cool words.

House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski

Were you able to actually get through this? I tried, and found it impenetrable. It just sits on my bookshelf and mocks me.

Looks like I joined the day after Verbal. I thought the 'Veteran' badge had to do with my military service.
Wondered how Lush knew about that.
But now that I know, we should have a celebratory drink! (Any excuse will do.)

Clearly that was a good week for Lush.

It's so cool that the when the whole site is down this bar is still around (okay, all the Forums are up, but I choose to believe that only this Forum thread lives on).

New Serious Moonlight release today, but I've been pimping stories pretty hard lately, so I wil give it a rest.

Köffee please!

Morning beautiful people. Just logged in to find a Veteran badge on my profile. Evidently my alter ego's thoughts have been active here for the last five years. Time really flies when you're having fun;)

I'm ready for the weekend! Spike my coffee with whatever's closest por favor❤☕?

I got mine last month! We must have joined at nearly the same time!

Spike Alyx's coffee with some of that Bulleit I've got behind the counter if you please, barkeep.
Congrats on the Littley grabbing first runner up, Tonya!

Fuzzy, thanks for the muffins AND for the Mark Knoffler. One of my favorite guitarists ever.

A weird, cool little RR-winning tentacle sex story is on the front page now. Curse, by frogtie something.

Not much going on here. Work is busy. LJ and I will search for a good Indian resturant tonight for date night, since we haven't found one yet.

Koffee please.

I like it when you snap your fingers and WHOOSH look what happens, but then again the slow sensual art of undressing for someone is much much more fun!

Man, I wish I could snap my finger and make that happen! Though slow and teasing is nice too. smile

Hey guys. I have quite a few stories to get to, pretty excited honestly. I feel like there's been some great stuff being posted lately, it makes me happy. smile It's raining and cold here too. I have a story idea in my head but alas if only I could automatically convert it into the wonderful written story I imagine instead of repetitive, bland boringness. Hope everyone is well and happy. Those muffins look hella fabby.

Hey, Special K, it's been awhile! How are you?

Since it is cold and raining there too why don't we share a cup of hot köffêè?
Blueberry muffins! Thanks Fuzzy!

And thanks for the set-up, Cyn the Unquenchable.

Not much going on here. Cold and raining. Busy work day. Half day of school, so the kids are watching The Simpsons in the next room.

Coffee would be perfect!
Almost always from desktop or iPad at home. If I am really bored I will check it on my phone, but my kids are always using my phone, so I always have to erase my history and it's a hassle and I am lazy.
I saw it last night and liked it much better than I expected to. I loved the first 2 Iron Mans, the first 2 Avengers, but after that I started getting burnt out on superhero movies. Even the "important" ones like Black Panther and Wonder Woman left me a little cold (I did REALLY like both Guardians of the Galaxy flicks).

But this had a lot going for it. Thanos is a really great bad guy, with the calm, thoughtful temperament and all. And like Rapunzel said above, the movies all fit together really well, like Lego pieces, and it's impressive they were dealing with so many plot points simultaneously.

The best thing about the movie, and the trilogy, and in part the whole franchise, is Robert Downey Jr. Yes, I will admit to having a tiny man-crush on him. smile But his first Iron Man movie started the whole Marvel universe going, and his charisma has really powered the franchise more than anyone else. His complex friendship with Captain America is really nuanced. And his meeting with his father and his death at the end were the most moving sections of the movie. With him and Cap now gone, the movies just won't be the same. A long, sustained, brilliant performance by him.

Oh, and this: Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch is HOT!
A new Shard up. Rain.

It's a quiet, melancholy story, though I think the love they feel toward each other continues to shine through.

There is a lot of ambiguity in this story, built in purposefully, so I am a little reluctant to shed more light on it, but my OCD tendancies are pushing me to explain how it fits in the larger narrative (plus I like having this record of the process involved in the writing of these stories, just for myself). There were two short stories, now gone from Lush, titled Safe Word, part 1 and Safe Word, part 2. They were about a FMM threesome the couple was involved in that went poorly, and makes her feel unsafe. I decided that the stories needed an interlude between the two of them, to emphasize the distance they feel from each other. I wrote Rain to provide that interlude.

The sex in the parking lot that she is remembering, as they sit in the car in the rain, is from another short story, also gone from Lush now, called This Is Not a Game. For her, that story is all about feeling safe. A safety that is missing after Safe Word, part 1.

Anyway. None of those 3 stories are on Lush anymore, and I don't know if anyone even remembers them. But I thought I'd mention how these stoies fit together in the overall narrative.
Roller coaster! Love them!

Fried Snickers or Fried Twinkie?
Congrats Laura! What a perfect choice. I'd try to type in a NZ accent, but have no idea how. Perhaps you can give me lessons. ;)

Congrats again.
Hey everyone. Thanks for the set-up Curves, and for the kind words about the new Flash piece. You too Penman (and thank you for the extremely generous comments about Purr too)!

I'll pimp the new Flash out one more time: Rain https://www.lushstories.com/stories/flash-erotica/-rain-.aspx It is much quieter and more melancholy than my usual fare.

At some point I might put up an explantion of some of the myseries in the story on the Shard-o-verse thread. Or it may work better with the mysteries unexplained. Alll these stories fit together in my head, but it's pretty messy in there smile, so I'm not sure anyone makes the connections between the stories besides me.

Anyway. Looking to be a long day, and another trip to the doc for my Dad may be in order.

Peace. Coffee please.

EDIT: More rambling about the latest flash, Rain, over at the Shard-o-verse thread.
I will preface this by saying everything is fine now, but...I was in the ER with my Dad all day yesterday. Long, harrowing day. He's home now and doing relatively well.

Playing catch-up all day today. Pretty frikkin exhausted.

Thanks to everyone who has read Purr and commented. A lot of work and TLC went into that story.

Köffee please.
Carl, thanks for the cyn-immon rolls.

Ping thanks for the series of random observations, obscure references, and non sequitars. Haven't had coffee yet, so most of that went over my head.

Good weekend on Amazon giving away free books. We'll see if it translates into sales next week.

New flash is immiment. Maybe even today.

One last pimp for the epic kitty ear tale by sprite and me: Purr.

Zip ties just don't have the same aesthetic appeal and they're a bugger to get off if they're tight.

Coffee for me please and a round for all present.

This will sound awfully vanilla of me (if you can sound vanilla while discussing BDSM equipment), but I like easy, non-painful restraints like Velcro and straps. No esthetic there. And belts too, I guess. I have a fondness for repurposing belts. smile

We saw La Llorona this weekend. Scary a f. Like, old school Excorsist level scary. Annabelle makes a very brief appearance, so it connects up with the Conjuring movies (the Conjure-verse), which are all pretty good. Except The Nun. That kinda sucked.

I have a FREE SHORT STORY on Amazon now, through Tuesday. I briefly cracked the top 200 BDSM Erotica titles on Amazon, no small accomplishment for me. Just below the 300 rank now. But it's the most visibility I have had so far. Get one! Help me out!

I love teasing. Like Bria above me (hi Bria!), the word itself turns me on. From sending hot texts throughout the day to flirting over a dinner table to foreplay and beyond. It should be a story category.
