Sold two new Shards to an honest-to-God porn site. They are mostly a video site, with stories taking up a tiny section of ther site, but hey, if they're paying, I'm selling.
The six Shards sold so far (and so no longer on Lush): Elevation, Buttons, Morning Light, The Razor Thin Edge, Fire and Ice, and Mindful. Also missing are Business Casual and Reruns, as they are out to potential publishers.
I am about to pull three more Shards off of Lush so I can send them out:

*Sexhair (I will miss having Sexhair here, I am inordinately fond of that story. Primarily because it is also one of my nicknames for Layla

I think I have said this before, but getting published is easier than it's made out to be, and most of the regulars here could easily get published. Step one is to go here--https://duotrope.com/promo.aspx?gaw=duotrope--and sign up for Duotrope. The link I sent is a one month free membership, after that it's $50 a year. You put in the genre (erotica I assume), length, payment expected, etc., and they give you every market currently buying that kind of thing, as well as links and contact info. It's fun. Just make sure you find the submission instructions for where you want to send, and follow them to the letter.

They get 6 month exclusive rights, and the right to use material from it for promotion. After that I can sell it again. Unlikely it would be to another mag, cuz they usually want previously unpublished material. But I could, say, e-publish it on Amazon (which is possible).

I work in an academic environment now, so foul language is frowned upon. It would offend people, and they would be likely to say something (as they should).
Prior to this job I was in the corporate world, in a pretty loose, free-wheeling office. We worked a lot of hours, sometimes under great pressure, people got punchy, and let off steam in a lot of ways that would probably be seen as inappropriate these days. Lots of swaearing. No double standard, though, women swore as much as men, and were equally inappropriate.
I prefer the calm and respectful behavior of my current workkplace BY FAR.

I remember the days of little kid birthday parties well. We've done bowling, bouncy houses, a tiny amusement park with an old school carousel, the pool at the YMCA (my fave). Ping, YMB, I don't think they should limit the number of stories. Stories are good for the site, they make it grow, they are what the site is made of.
What's weird is that we have an increasing number of writers, which should mean an increasing number of readers, in a direct enough proportion that it wouldn't affect views/comments/votes. Are the new writers not reading other stories?
Could it be a prose/poetry thing? There's always been kind of a wall between the two (I almost never read poetry). It's prose writers noticing the drop, maybe their has been a shift where the newer crowd are more poets than prose writers.
Anyway. Should be an annoying work day. Making serious changes to a site for a woman who can't make up her mind.
