Something about looking for ice in hell comes to mind...

Well, if it's Hell, I'll bring the warm lite beer.

Hey, even the theoretically condemned have standards. Ice those mugs.
One of my favorite writers on Lush is Coco. It's a given that her actual writing is well done--story structure, grammar, blah-blah-blah. That's because she's smart as hell. ? However, Coco can tell a good story. She can lay it down so well. It goes beyond just sexy. Her tales are truly interesting, insightful and they hold you. Anyone can be taught to write, but the telling of the story itself and where it takes you makes the difference between what you just read and what you don't forget. Those writers sometimes get pushed to the side because they don't publish as frequently as some others. A lot of my favorites are like that. But, they are always worth the wait and they put so much into what they are sharing. I'm thankful.

More of a beer drinker, but I don't mind a glass of red from time to time: Pinot Noir, Merlot, or a good Cab. If I'm going to be stuck somewhere for all eternity, at least I'll have great company!

I've browsed this thread a couple times already and decided that I truly had nothing to add, but I thought I should say something. Your talent astounds me, but you know that, your words stimulate me and you know that too, so what am to say? From Want to Trust, from My Body A Poem to A Muse's Poem your works pull me in... Your delicious mind amazes me so much so that I've developed a ridiculously silly girl crush. So I say all this to say, keep inspiring others with your gift... Keep writing.

I'm glad you decided to stop by because your words are gems. And, you already know how much I love your writing! So, to have you give me any compliment pushes my level of happiness to the extreme. I've been crushing on you since I arrived. I can never have enough of someone so beautiful on the inside and outside. Curves help too.uJrZDJJJ0PBmVs3W

I never gave it any consideration for quite some time. It just seemed insignificant and more or less ornamentation. I did experience a little Lush drama from a member using it to try and cause problems, and a few inquiries in regards to placement--much like some of you have mentioned. Before that, I never would have believed that people have the time to do things like I've witnessed. I've had it completely blocked and I've just had the one friend posted at his request. It was inconvenient.

I simply just "ain't got" time for all of that. I've only changed the order twice since I've been here, and I've been here a while. With at least a small list, I have quick access to ones that I talk to most often by just a click. The immature are going to be immature regardless.
Considering that I never had a "plan," I've been extremely fortunate. I'm not the calculating type, I'm all heart, emotions and passions, unfortunately. I don't recommend it. The stories I could tell. But, I wouldn't change the bad things because then I wouldn't have the good things. It amazes me how intricately dependent they are on one another. I'm happy, ecstatic at times and I have more than I knew to ask for.

I love this. People are always trying to put their hands in my hair.

So many people get it confused with Wanderlust but it's more and magical.
I can do a perfect 180 degree angle side split. I can also do a back bend, but after that I just sort of fall out on the floor.

4) Don't treat your characters the way an over-indulgent parent treats their spoiled brats, instantly granting them everything that their little hearts desire. Your job as an author is to be horrible to your characters, frustrate them, torture them, make them work for what they want, so when they get it, the reader knows they actually deserve it. Every good story is a story of some character(s) overcoming great challenges in a journey of one sort or another. Too often, writers are starting their characters next door to the destination, and simply walking over (on a warm day with a gentle breeze and not a single challenge is sight). No! Put some thunder and lightning in there, and a jealous spouse with a meat cleaver, release some werewolves, strike your character down with a runaway bus. Give them something to do in order to earn his/her rewards by the time they get to the destination (the climax).

I love point number four. Excellent point.
Everyone has that time when you looked at someone, shook your head slowly with your tongue slowly moistening your bottom lip and thought, "Mmm...if I could get a hold of that for just one night. The things I would do."

You know you have.

Take a look at one of my older stories and let a little fulfillment happen.

So much can happen in a night, all night and in so many ways.
See for yourself...

Buz said what I was gonna say perfectly. But I'll add that quality is not limited to your writing. You are an elite person as well as author. How can anyone not absolutely love you?

I don't know what I'd do without you here. There have been moments when your kindness just pulls me out of a hole. I appreciate you so much and your wife. You have a big heart and you put it into your writing. I love that. I think of when we first started sending notes to one another. I know I've grown as a writer and you have too. I've seen it. All the while, you reach out and encourage everyone you come in contact with here. That's special.

Where is that book?! I'm so excited for you. I'm pleading to at least be a Beta reader. Please.

Reggie, you never fail to move me. As one who loves words, your writing always delights me. You shine. It is even more admirable because of your humility about your obvious talent, which is flawless whether expressed in prose or poetry.

Wow! That really means a lot Principessa because to me you are definite royalty around here. You set a level I hope to reach.

Regina, you're only one of the true elite writers on this site. Yes, I'm a big fan! You always impress me. I highly recommend anything you've written.

Ah, thank you Buz. I'm one of your biggest fans. When I first started hanging around here, I read The Neapolitan and I was hooked on you. ?

I finally have the time to do a second more intense read through God Help the Child, by Toni Morrison.
I also have some Indie writing friends that have passed along their latest and I'm looking forward to diving in. If I find some gems, I'll pass them on here.

I'm going to start this book today. I love this writer and her work, but I've heard awful things about this book and I've hated the idea of maybe being disappointed.

..
I'm still getting up a little before 5 a.m. each morning for my run. Come join me.
