On a trip from Chicago to South Bend. My girlfriend at the time decided I needed a treat (or she did). Our friends in the front seat never knew. Thank goodness we had a blanket. I still remember the mischievous look on her face when she came up for air.
Retirement HAS been on my mind of late. I have family obligations (a sick mother) but I've set my time frame at 12 months from now. I've always enjoyed travel and would like to explore previously unvisited places, on this continent and others. Some parts of the world intrigue me more than others; I'd like to cruise the mediteranean ports, revisit the Pacific Northwest and San Francisco, and I've always wanted to see Brazil and Spain. A friend built a house in Costa Rica recently and I have a standing invitation. I'm close to Chicago, and enjoy the clubs there. I'd like to go fishing; plenty of nice lakes in Michigan. I think I would write some more; I've still got a few stories in me. And I'd like to donate time and energy to a good cause in return for the blessings I've received. The notion of paying it back appeals to me. And visit family and friends who I haven't had time and energy for while raising a family.
turnabout is fair play....
Sorry Gil....I'm feeling it tonite....
damned near anything non-alcoholic
Today I am grateful that two of my neighborhood college teams are still playing; Notre Dame and Michigan State. Both of them are playing excellent ball.
Sobriety. And Spring. And Notre Dame hitting their threes.
I've always been crazy for Pelicans. And horses. And Studebakers.
My son received his diploma in the mail yesterday; I'm taking him out for a nice steak and salad tonite to celebrate.
billy's back on top! (sorry, viv...)
